Yeah, not sure how smart it is to tie a race in to what has to already be a busy weekend at the parks...but then again, I wonder does DL ever have the slower periods like WDW does?

Seems like a nice fit with Tinkerbell and Moms, so a nice tie in there. Will be interesting to see how it rolls out. Possibly trying to get more of a gap between the Princess and Tinkerbell halves (darn computer won't let me type half(s) with it's autocorrect hehe).

I thought about this some more and this actually may work more for DL's benefit more than it ever would for WDW. With DL being such a large draw for locals - much more than it is for WDW - this could work to DL's advantage drawing more local women to celebrate Mother's Day weekend with a race. More Mom's running with their sisters, daughters, etc... since it's just an hour's drive or what-have-you.

It also makes a larger gap of time between January and May. Some that could never do those two in the same month before can now do both. And you're right, spaces out the women-centric events.

I saw this and thought that its a good move for those who want to do the coast to coast. And Im also thinking that it gives those at Run Disney a bit of a reprieve after Jan marathon weekend with now adding Dopey, thats more work for them Im sure!

Will I do Tinkerbell? Probably not, I realized with Dumbo that Im not a DL fan, and thats okay.....but I can say Ive been there done that. The only perk was that after the races, it was just a quick walk to the Disneyland hotel.

I think moving this race makes a lot of sense too - for the same reasons already posted here. I couldn't believe all of the negative comments that were posted about the change on the Disney Parks Blog. What gives, is nobody happy anymore?

DL is really different, isn't it? Especially coming from born and raised WDW people. It's just so... small. And.... I don't know.
My first DL Half, I was commando. I literally had a list of what rides to ride, in what order, and on which day. I did them ALL. So for this second trip, I was kind of like, been there done that! But going with my friend - who was a first timer - I had to try harder to be more excited about it! I was excited to see Carsland, for sure. That was really, really cool! But the rest of it... eh.

I will do Tink. I'm on a mission to finish every runDisney race. So I will be back. But Tink is last on my list as I'm in ho hurry to return. Plus the airfare is killer.

I thought no Im sorry ASSUMED that DL would be like DW...or more specifically Magic Kingdom/Disneyland and they layout. The castle? Where? Oohhhh there it is! I understand that this was Walt's first idea, first creation....it just feels confusing there. DCA I had no issues navigating that park, then again thats a newer park. Carsland? Bring it to Florida! Love that area! Such details in that area are AMAZING!! That part I will miss. Maybe later I will want to do Tink so I can say Ive done them all like you Tanya....maybe........maybe

Ok, so yes, in some ways it makes sense to space it out. However, just to throw in another angle, I was hoping to get my first coast to coast doing the WDW marathon and then the Tink.

Now, I live in the UK. There is no way I would have the money to fly to Florida to do a marathon, come back to the UK and then fly to California, several months later. So now, the coast to coast is a distant dream for me and most definitely will not be happening.

For our UK runners that makes total sense! That does stink
