Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE Thursday, June 1, Day Five, Part 2 You gotta love a Parade! I had done everything I wanted to at Epcot so I made my way out of the park. I picked up my SUV and drove over to MK to catch the parade. Cinderella Celebration was starting at the castle so I found a nice spot to get some photos. Since I was going to AK that day I decided to bring my film SLR with the 300 zoom. The digital point & shoot just doesn’t work that well on the safari. I have to get at least on good giraffe photo each trip. Am I the only one that can’t hold back the tears during Cinderellabration? I know it isn’t real but it is beautiful and makes me misty Maybe it is the castle and the costumes but I just LOVE this show! Maybe it is the fact that I want a Prince Charming! I did get a few nice photos. I went directly to Frontierland after and was able to get a FP for Spash. I waited in the line for BTMR and was able to get on in about 40 minutes. After BTMR I purchased a Mickey Bar and sat down on the wall in front of Pacos Bills to wait for the Share A Dream Parade. I had not seen the parade in ages so I really wanted to see it this trip. Three people tried to sit in front of me and the girls I was sitting next to. They were moved shortly before the parade started. The characters always make the parade super fun. Mary Poppins and the Fairy Godmother wished me a Happy birthday Pluto came up and give me a big kiss…I mean lick! I was in heaven and no longer a 33 y/o woman! I was 8 y/o! When Cruela DeVille came by I yelled “Puppies” to her. She snarled at me and said, “SPOTS!” ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NEXT: Jammin' in the Jungle!

Love your pictures and description of Cinderellabration. I've never seen it and never will get to since it'll be gone in a few months. Thanks for sharing! |

Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE Thursday, June 1, Day 5 Part 3 Jammin' In The Jungle It was time to go after the parade. I made my way back to my car. I was at AK in no time (although I zigged instead of zagged and ended up missing the exit! ) I went over to EE to get a FP. Sadly FP were gone for the day and the wait time was 120 minutes Ummm…NO WAY! I went over to Harambe to see if I could catch the parade. The parade was just a few minutes away! I grabbed a FP for Kilimanjaro Safaris and a frozen Lemonade (with a Pluto straw) and stood at the rope and made small talk with the CM who was working crowd control. She was very nice and said I picked a great time to come to AK because the crowds usually thinned out after the parade! Once again the parade was excellent but they did change the music. It use to be the same song throughout the who parade but now each car has it’s own song. Did anyone else notice that or am I crazy? Anyway it was still fun! ![]() ![]() By the time the parade went by my FP time was approaching. So I stood by the gate about 10 minutes and was able to get right in. We were on our safari in no time! I did get some excellent photos. ![]() ![]() When I was back from my safari I headed back to Asia too see how long the line was for EE. To my surprise when I got there the line was a half hour WOW cool! I got in line and I don’t think we even waited a half hour! The family in front of me was actually from India and had visited Nepal a few times. They were telling me and the family behind me all about the climate and the people. It was very interesting. Finally my turn to ride the most anticipated roller coaster at WDW in years! I don’t want to spoil the ride for anyone who has not been on it…but it is AWESOME! When I got off I was smiling. I looked at the ride time…it was still 30 minutes. So I rode again…then again. Yes…3 times in a row in less then 2 hours! ![]() ![]() NEXT: Up Closer in Personal Times Two!!

Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE Thursday, June 1, Day 5 Part 4 Up Close and Personal Times Two I decided to head back to Hurumbe and see what the wait for KS was. The line was short and I was able to walk on. This safari was MUCH better then the first. In fact it is probably the BEST safari in the maybe 30 times I have been on this ride. The driver actually sped up and then stopped so you could get a nice view or photo of each animal. The girl sitting behind me was trying to take photos with her digital point and shoot but she could not get a good shot. Her husband was yelling at her saying, “Just take the photo it isn’t that hard.” Finally he tried and could not get a good photo. It was actually kind of funny…and sad at the same time. Just put the camera down and enjoy the ride! ![]() ![]() ![]() By this time I was very hot it has been ages since I had been on Kali River Rapids so I decided to give it a try. Well, when they say, “You WILL get wet on this ride” they weren’t kidding. I have been on this maybe 8 times and never got totally drenched to my underwear EVER…well this time was alittle different! I was soaked to the bone! A Tsunami came over the raft and soaked EVERYONE on board! I was still dripping wet two hours later! I did end up purchasing a t-shirt because I was getting alittle chilly with the one I was wearing. I also planned ahead and had an extra pair of shoes in the SUV! I stopped for a quick dinner at Flame Tree Barbeque. The food was terrible which I was alittle surprised about. I had always enjoyed meals at FT I didn’t even finish my pulled pork sandwich) While I was eating a squirrel stole a piece of corn off a girl’s plate. He sat up in the tree branch and ate it! The CM got the little girl a new plate of food (it was pretty funny though) Here is the thief: ![]() I still had not seen Festival of the Lion King yet this trip so I checked the time’s guide…there was a 7:30 show! I was guided into the tent to find the show only half full (if that). I was able to grab a seat with a guy and his friend in the front row! I have never sat in the front row for this show so I was excited. The show was awesome as usual. Timon actually sat on my lap during the show and tried to squeeze in next to me and the girl I was sitting next to! A couple of monkeys also tried to pick bugs our of my hair It was so much fun. I don’t ever want to sit anywhere else in FotLK! The front row is the best! ![]() ![]() NEXT: Meeting Up With Friends (alittle late)

Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE Thursday, Day Five, Part 5 Meeting Up With Friends (alittle late) It was just after 8 when the show got out. I had an hour to get to the Illumniations meet at Epcot. I called Val when I got to the Epcot parking lot to let her know I might be alittle late but I was on my way. As I walk to GERMANY I was cursing whoever picked Germany as the meeting point! (Thanks Sam! ) I walked and walked and walked…how long is it suppose to take? Well it took me only 20 minutes to get from the park entrance to Germany and I wasn’t even running! I finally made it right before the meet. Actually as I looked around someone saw me and said “Robin!” I would have never seen everyone. ![]() I could not believe all the people that came. There were familiar faces and not so familiar faces. It was very nice to meet everyone! Illuminations was awesome as usual. I am glad Sam warned us about the “boom” that was going to happen behind us…even though I still jumped when it happened. It was a perfect place to watch the show (even though it was VERY far from the entrance to the park!). After the show we got a group photo and then stood around and talked for a bit. I then said my goodbyes and made my way to the exit. ![]() ![]() ![]() It was still pretty hot so it was time for another frozen Lemonade. I drank as I walked when I got to where Italy Boat docks I heard someone behind me say, “Wow it didn’t take you long to drink that.” I turned it and it was Yvonne (tinkerbelz), her husband Sam (DVC_Increda_Man) and Yvonne’s DD Kassie! I laughed and we chatted for almost an hour. We exchanged phone number in hopes that we could get together again before the end of the trip. Sadly that never happened. We finally said, “goodbye”. I took some last minute photos of Epcot and I made my way to my SUV. Sandy was still up when I got back to her condo. She let me know she wasn’t going to join me on Friday at the parks either. Oh, well..another solo day. ![]() ![]() Cheaters NEVER Win!
