Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE [ QUOTE ] Great pix. Blue Horizons is one of the best shows at any park IMHO [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the all the complements on my photos. I have a pretty good film SLR camera with a 300 zoom. Most of my photos at Sea World were taking with my film camera. As far as the show...it was good but a bit overdone. There were acrobats, birds, dolphins, actors/trainers, dolphins and small whales along with shooting water and waterfalls. I just thought they were trying a bit too hard. There was ALOT going on.

Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE We went to Sea World the day after you did and we totally agree with your idea that Sea World is trying to be Disney. The magic just isn't there...

Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE Monday, Memorial Day, May 29, Day Two: Part 3 Amazing Dog, Cats...and Rats! After the show Sandy and I walked around a bit more. We went to see the sharks and then headed over to the Pets Ahoy show. We stood in the air conditioned entrance to wait (notice a theme here?) The finally opened the doors a half hour later and we made out way into the auditorium (this show was inside). We found seats close to the middle. I was sitting next to a pole. I looked and asked what the pole was for. She said that a cat during the show ran along the platform the was extended from the pole next to me to the stage. I was like I don’t think so. After the parrot “incident” I really didn’t want a cat above my head. Sandy and I traded places and moved down a couple of seats. The show was fantastic. The performers consisted of dogs, cats, rats, doves and even a pig. The tricks they had the animals doing were pretty basic but one dog had several tricks to do before he saw a reward which I thought was amazing. It was neat to see trained cats too. My cat Max has me trained! I cry you feed me. I didn’t get any photos because it was too dark in there to get any good ones without a flash. I did get a couple of photos of the great Pyrenees dog after the show. They are very sweet lovable dogs. Some good friends of mine have one named Opal. After many of the kids left I went up and got to scratch the dog’s ears. That made me miss my Belle. My favorite dog in the show was an amazing harlequin Great Dane! No Scotties in the show though. Oh yeah…they have to be WELL trained! ![]() We went on a quest to find tropical fish but didn’t find any. We did find the shark reef which was cool. I didn’t take any photos, sorry. It was really starting to get hot so Sandy and I each got a shaved ice and found a spot in the shade. After we were done we headed over to the Clydesdale Hamlet. I LOVE horses and always have. I especially love draft horses or big boned horses. Gyspy Vanners are my favorite. I use to ride them whenever I wanted until my “friend” banished me from her life. Sandy was totally bored in the Clydesdale Hamlet but I didn’t care. They had one horse posing for photos so I got in line. There was a bit of a wait but it was worth it! I even wore my Sea World Clydesdale shirt that day. How is that for planning! The barn also housed the infamous donkey from the Budweiser commercials. ![]() The drivers were cleaning the harnesses in the tack room. There were two Dalmatians in there taking a nap. One was older and one was younger. The younger dog got up and wanted to play. The older dog wanted nothing to do with him at first. Finally he got up and played for about 2 minutes and then went back to sleep. The younger dog got frustrated and started barking. I watched this when I was in line to get my photo taken. When I came out I noticed the older dog was gone and the younger dog was looking through the crack in the door. Poor thing all he wanted to do was play. ![]() Sandy was impatiently waiting outside the Clydesdale Hamlet when I was done. I was on a quest for free beer (hey it is a Busch owned park! ) We found the Hospitality House. Sandy went to the restroom and I found the free beer. We walked around alittle bit and then decided we should probably eat before the Shamu show. I wanted fish and chips. Sea World right? The fish should be fresh! The place that sold fish and chips was not close to where we were so we decided on barbeque. The food was surprisingly good. We both had a rib platter that came with 3 dry rubbed ribs and French fries. After dinner it was on to Shamu! NEXT: Can I Have Your Job PLEASE??
