Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip - Pre-trip Update 7/9 So creative in your poems Marnie! When I write mine to the Room Assignor they sound so uncreative compared to yours! You've got everything planned so well - just go and enjoy. Happy Anniversary!

Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip - Pre-trip Update 7/9 The last and final pre-trip update…….are we ready? Well today was something to wake up to, huh Needless to say, we’ve had to repack all the liquids into the checked bags. I think we’ll be fine though. Alexa is still on her Amox, but it’s labeled properly so I don’t see any issues with that. And Matt had found the huge Ziplock bags last week when I was traveling, and we’ve packed everything into those inside the checked luggage. Didn’t realize how handy those would come into play until this morning As long as we have the passports and birth certificates, we can just buy whatever we forget when we get down there. Did I mention that DH bought a new camera (and doesn’t know how to use it yet )! Yup, a Canon Digital Rebel XT. Ok, it’s not so bad as he had the Canon Rebel APS so he knows how to use a Canon, just not all the fancy digital stuff (like pulling up the picture after it’s been taken)! This in itself has caused angst, because he only bought a 1 GB memory card (it’s a 8 MB camera) and wants to bring my laptop to download the pictures to. Of course, it’s my work laptop, which means I need admin rights to add anything to it (and it won’t let me) so I had to go out and get a card reader. Hopefully it works, because I haven’t had time to try it yet since I was up until 11:30 last night packing. And we’re borrowing his Dad’s video camera (much newer and smaller than ours) and gee , we don’t know how to use that either . This should prove to be an interesting picture and video trip to say the least Never did manage to call BBB for Alexa. I might be in trouble with that one. She decided to pack her Jasmine costume last night, and not the big bulky (and hot) Princess Aurora one. At least she’ll be comfortable. I think I’ll pack Colin’s Peter Pan as well for the cruise. That would fit right in on Pirate night, right Got to remember that when I got home, because I forgot to pack that last night! I’ve made a bunch of changes to our ADRs. I’m trying to get the most for our money (free dining) while still trying some new restaurants. Did I list any that we were eating at? I’ve forgotten at this point. This is where we stand…. Jiko - dinner (new) California Grill - dinner (new) PSB - dinner Spoodles – dinner (new) Concourse Steakhouse - dinner (new) Wolfgang Puck Café – dinner (last time was 1998) Cape May Café – breakfast Spirit of Aloha – late show (new for everyone but me, last time for me in the 1980s) ‘Ohana – dinner I’m hoping to eat some CS meals at Kona Café, Pecos Bill, Pizza Planet, Tusker House, and Beaches and Cream (although it’s TS). And tossing around lunch at Chef Mickey’s since that was just added! You don’t get to do that every trip I’m also looking forward to the new daytime parade at MK, and to finally seeing the AK parade (here’s hoping that I do)! My cruise docs haven’t arrived, but since I’ve checked in online, I’ve been told I’m good to go, and can just get new luggage tags when I get to the port. That’s a relief At least it’s been a quiet hurricane season so far (although I probably just jinxed myself with that one)! D’oh! And I got my parasailing ressie for Castaway Cay (and my disposable water camera) so I’m really looking forward to that! All the other documents have been printed out. I made copies of the passports, tickets, and birth certificates! And printed out the boarding passes (we’re an A but I think we’ll still get to preboard with Colin, and the flight should be somewhat empty anyway)! If NASA pushes back the shuttle to the 26th instead of the 27th, I’ll be even happier! (this is a longshot at best)! So that, my friends, wraps up the pre-trip installment! Finally, after 500 days of planning it has arrived. Check back at the beginning of September for the first updates, as I’ll need a few days to recover and I need to get Alexa up and ready for school that starts 3 days after we get back! Thanks for all the well wishes And see some of you while we’re down there Stay tuned……………..

Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip - Pre-trip Update 7/9 Safe travels! I can't wait to hear all about it! Have fun learning about those new cameras... Don't give Matt too hard of a time about it, though... I just bought a new camcorder for our trip in two weeks, and I have yet to pick it up and play with it either...It's a guy thing.... I did read the manual and charge the battery, though.
