Re: Aloha Cousin! A Family Adventure at WDW*Update 8/19* If my DH had done that to me I would have torn him a new one! I can't believe you had to take your sweatshirt off! I would understand if it was a zippered one. Oh well, it was kind of you to provide some free entertainment! Looking forward to your next update!

Re: Aloha Cousin! A Family Adventure at WDW*Update 8/19* The eagle has landed… When we landed in Denver, I had three missions. Number 1—I needed to find my gate in a strange airport. I’d already checked out the airport map and discovered that all the Frontier gates were in two areas of the airport, so that shouldn’t be too difficult. Number 2---I had to pee with a capital P as I don’t use airplane restrooms and I’d downed no less than a liter of water on the flight Number 3---I was now starving and wanted to get something to eat, as I’d not eaten before I left and the snack onboard had been a granola bar, and I’m allergic to oats. I did pocket that bar though to take home for the kids Ain’t I good mom? Number 2 (actually number one :teehee It was about an hour til takeoff, so I grabbed a sandwich and chips at the nearest food spot, which happened to be Quizno’s, which I happen to like. So, all was well, I’d accomplished all 3 of my missions with enough time to spare for a leisurely brunch. I seated myself near the gate, called the hubby to check in, and then unwrapped my yummy sub on my lap. As soon as I had a mouthful of sandwich and shredded lettuce and ranch sauce dripping from my chin, the lady at the counter made the following announcement (the flight to Orlando has been changed to gate blah, blah, blah). It’s just about 15 minutes from boarding at this point, but we begin a trek at least 5 miles back the way I just came. I manage to wolf down the rest of the sandwich and my chips right before boarding, promptly find my seat and settle in. I decide that I’ll try and nap this time around, so I don’t purchase the TV this flight, and watch the free stuff. The snack on this flight was warm breadsticks with marinara sauce. It was super! I managed to dose off a bit before landing. We landed about 10 minutes early. I had a great flight! In fact I give Frontier two thumbs up. We’re flying Frontier again on our November trip, at least on the way to Orlando. It was too expensive on the way home. Jenny and I had planned to meet at the DME check in area, but after consulting my handy Passporter airport map and some monitors, I concluded that Jenny’s plane was coming in not far from mine! I could actually meet her at the gate! I found her gate and parked with my book, when they announced that the flight was going to be about 30 minutes late. Don’t they know I need to get to Disneyworld I decide to wander a bit in search of ice cream, and I had to settle for soft serve from Carvel ? (I think that’s what it was. It’s not something I’m familiar with.) I pass the time with my snack, cell phone, and book. Finally, Jenny’s flight landed and was she surprised to see me. She thought for sure I’d headed to the resort without her. We’re on our way now! Checking in with DME was a breeze, and we were on our way shortly. I LOVE DME! It makes the whole trip completely Disney, and I just love not having to claim luggage. We were treated to stops at OKW and SSR before we pulled up to POFQ. I like getting a peek at resorts I haven’t visited yet. We had the nicest CM upon check in. We were taken care of quickly and directed to our room. I did love how close everything was at this resort. It wasn’t a hike to go anywhere. We had a corner room and could make out the parking lot between the trees. It was quiet and having an extra window was cool. We dropped off our carry ons, called our families, and made our way to the food court for some dinner, as it was already 8:30 by this time. We’d hoped to make it to Earl of Sandwich for dinner, but we were wiped out! I had some Creole/Cajun dish with rice and sausage that was a little bit spicy, and I purchased my refillable mug and filled it with caffeine free diet coke. Dinner was okay. I did like the cornbread. Then it was to the gift shop to purchase some milk and donuts for a quick breakfast in the morning. I really missed having a grab and go section at the food court for fruit and other more healthy choices. Back at the room Jenny showered, I set the wake up call and we called it a night. Well, at least I did. Jenny said I was snoring when she got out of the shower! Hey, I got up at 4:00 am! Apparently, she watched TV for a while---oh yeah, the luggage. Mine was in the room when we returned from dinner, and Jenny’s came shortly after we returned. It’d been a long day and tomorrow would be awesome! We were starting out with Animal Kingdom, one of my favorites! Will Everest be open…DaDaDaDum….more suspense…

Re: Aloha Cousin! A Family Adventure at WDW*Update 8/19* You totally cracked me up with the "flashing the security guards" moment -- too, too funny! And what a saga at the airport in Denver! And, you're a saint to have waited for your cousin (who's a "second" cousin if she's your mom's cousin's daughter) at the gate. I would've been off like a shot to WDW. Looking forward to more... Eileen
