| Re: Scarlett & The Fam Damily Take On The World! Pre-Trip Report, Part 1 Shaping up nicely! I also find it a little challenging to figure out all my ADR's and coordinate that with the day/evening's activities but it always seems to work out as planned. You will have a blast at MNSSHP...can't wait to hear what your costume will be! |

| Re: Scarlett & The Fam Damily Take On The World! Pre-Trip Report, Part 1 Wonderful start Scarlett... and as an FYI on our last trip, my DH had to go home early and we never changed the ADR's... just told them when we sat down that there would be one less... It was never a problem. Have a great trip! |

| Re: Scarlett & The Fam Damily Take On The World! Pre-Trip Report, Part 4 Sigh. Now waiting. And planning. I was obsessed with my Passporter and I also splurged on TourGuideMike…between his site and the Passporter boards, I have been spending a lot of time in front of the computer, to say the least. Krista and I have been frantically calling (Krista and Mama both ordered unlimited long distance plans for their home phones when she moved) and emailing with all sorts of Disney-related things. She has decided to get the girls into pin trading this trip (I know, she’s really asking for it) and ordered some pins from eBay for them to trade. I also hit up the Outlet section of Disneyshopping.com and ordered a couple of cheap shirts and some super cheap Donald Duck flip-flops. Mama and I had been discussing costumes for MNSSHP – to costume or not? Last year, I was Snow White for Halloween, and with the wig, the kids really thought I was Snow White…even my grandma was confused ("Who's that? Another WEIRD girlfriend of someone's? Great.")! So I knew that Snow White would be super cute. However, I remember that black wig being hot and the bodice part of the costume is blue velvet…ugh. I don’t think I can handle that in the Florida heat, and I’m from North Carolina…I’m used to heat and humidity! Krista and Jeff had decided to order some “Create Your Own” Halloween t-shirts from Disneyshopping.com for themselves, so Mama and I decided to do this as well. I got a light pink one with a (cute) vampire Piglet on the front. Mama got a green one with Pluto carrying a pumpkin trick-or-treat container on the front. I remember that Jeff got Halloween Sully & Mike, but I can’t remember what Krista ordered? Hmm. I'm going to try and get some cute antennae once I get there to wear to the party too...something cute and sparkly. I know this isn't really a "costume" per say...and I'm definitely the type of girl who dresses up for Halloweenie each year. I just can't think of anything that is Disney (my own requirement for this costume), comfortable and cool and really appeals to me on a "I want to BE this" level. The closest thing I've come to is Lilo, but I would need to wear a wig, which does not fulfill the comfortable and cool part, or possibly a pirate...but I was wanting to go for more of a "cute" theme. I could be a cute pirate, I suppose (hey if Johnny Depp can do it, so can I!) Hmmm. Let me think on that for a while. The costume's still up in the air for now. In July, Krista realized that she had to figure out what costumes to get the girls this year way early! After much discussion, Maeve has decided on Minnie Mouse (cute!) and Mackenzie has decided on Belle (also cute!). Let’s just hope Maeve also decides to “stay in character” and adopt Minnie’s disposition as well. *raised eyebrow* Ahem. Finally, Krista and Jeff decided not to go to Sea World for a day. They were planning on taking our car over there and back, but then when that fell through (we’re flying + DME = no car) they decided to drop it. They didn’t feel like getting a rental car or anything and decided instead to either add an extra day onto their Magic Your Way Ticket or spend the day swimming and at DTD. The ADRs they made for that morning and evening were at resorts, not in the parks, so they can go either way with that. So all along the planning stages, I had been telling Krista that she needed to plan a meal or something for her and Jeff to do by themselves. Mama and I would take the girlies for a while and let Jeff and Krista enjoy WDW as a couple for a moment. Now that Krista has moved, she doesn’t get to use or abuse her family as babysitters so much anymore, so she needed to take advantage of this! However, as of about a week ago, Krista had still not made any moves to throw out suggestions…maybe my constant “I’msoflippinexcitedaboutthistripi’mgonnapeeinmypa nts!!!!” was making her wonder if I was really a mature and appropriate guardian for her young’ins. Or maybe she was just planning on letting us take them for some afternoon…no advance planning necessary (which, I mean, I don’t even understand those words in that order…no…advance…planning…necessary…huh? Still don’t get it). Either way, I wasn’t responding well to this, and decided to take matters into my own hands. I was poking around on the Passporter boards and saw something about the Bibiddi Bobiddi Boutique. What’s this, I say? So I go to allearsnet and check out the descriptions…TOO CUTE! I want, no I NEED, to take our little princesses to this wonderful, glittery, girlie place. I look at the itinerary that Krista and I had made up…when could I fit this in? Well. We would be at Downtown Disney on Saturday night, the day we arrive. But then they would only be all gussied up for a couple of hours before time to go to bed. I mean, that would be a nice way to start out a trip, but…hmmmm. I know Krista had planned Tuesday as sort of a “free/swimming/whatever” day for them, so we could go then…but, then again…hate to see them jump in the pool after they had their princess makeovers! Then, it came to me…Friday was out last full day, and we had planned to spend the morning and early afternoon in Epcot, touring the World Showcase. Mama and I would whisk the girlies away that morning (Mama and I have World Showcase touring planned for at least 2 other nights earlier that week when we’ll be eating there) and take them to Bibiddi Bobiddi Boutique! They will experience what it is truly like to be royalty (they pretty much experience that every day, but this includes GLITTERY MAKE UP! Weee!) and we’ll then either escort them around DTD for a bit of shopping (okay, so maybe that’s more for Mama and myself) or head on over to the World Showcase. Either way, we will return to the World Showcase by 1:30 pm, where we will take the girls with us to lunch at San Angel Inn. This allows Krista and Jeff not only the whole morning to do as they please (probably tour World Showcase sans kids) but also a nice lunch for just the two of them at Le Cellier (conveniently also at 1:30 pm). After our lunches are over, we will return the princesses to their rightful parental units and head on back to the hotel to rest and costume up for MNSSHP. And their princess makeovers will coincide perfectly with their costumes, I do believe. So I loved this plan. So much that I immediately called and booked appointments for the girls the very next minute. I saw on allearsnet that the boutique opened at 9:30. The only complaint I had seen from mothers who had taken their daughters was sometimes the Fairy God Mothers In Training get behind a bit in their appointments. Otherwise, it was getting rave reviews. I wanted to get the girls ressies for 9:30 on the dot so that a) we could get an early, but not TOO early start on the morning and b) the Fairy Godmothers In Training can’t get too far behind if there is no one behind you! I excitedly called and, to my wild delight, I was able to get two appointments at 9:30 for the Crown Package (that includes a fancy hair ‘do of the girls’ choice, shimmery makeup and painted nails). The CM asked for the girls’ names and instructed me to bring them in with clean, brushed hair and no polish on their nails. I briefly wondered if they’d had problems with people bringing their kids in with dirty hair…ew. Anyway, I was super excited to book this. Now just to ask their mom if it was okay…you know, after the fact, ‘cause that’s how I like to do things. Act now, ask forgiveness later. First, though, I called MY mom and told her. She gave me the thumbs up on her end (she’s paying, another detail that I assumed when I booked ). Then I called Krista. She was super excited. I gave her strict instructions to NOT tell the girls…this was a surprise for them! She kept saying, “Ooh I can’t wait…for them! That’s going to be so magical…for them!” I think she wanted to get Bibiddi Bobiddi Boutiqued too. Anyway, I was glad she was so pleased. And she definitely liked the idea of her and Jeff getting some time together as well. The girls really like Mexican food, so we shouldn’t have a problem getting the princesses to agree to escort us commoners to Mexico instead of Canada where their parents are (neither Maeve or Mackenzie are the “overly clingy kids with separation anxiety” type anyway…if you're buying, they're following ). Okay, so I know I’m making way too big of a deal about this. If I was really cool, I’d surprise them with an entire trip to Disney or something like that. But I just can’t wait to see them getting pampered and primped, and I’m so glad that we get to do something special for them while we’re all together in WDW…especially something “new” that I’ve never seen before! I mean, every moment will be special, but I get to take credit for this one! Knowing these little girls, this is right up their alley…I am more excited than they probably will be! I love surprises! | Re: Scarlett & The Fam Damily Take On The World! Pre-Trip Report, Part 1 Looks like all that time in front of the computer/obsessing is paying off. You have some great plans, there. I would love to take my DD to the BBB, I am sure she would love it! The girls are going to be so happily surprised and that is priceless, in my book. Lucky DS and DBIL, too...a little time to themselves! |

| Re: Scarlett & The Fam Damily Take On The World! Pre-Trip Report, Part 1 Welcome to the snark family, my new friend! You have earned an eternal place in my heart for both your attention to detail and your ability to crack me up! You earn extra points for the following: [ QUOTE ] This is Jeff’s 9th trip the world with Krista – if he took any trips pre-Krista, I don’t know about them and don’t care to, because I’m sure they were not properly done. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] She is one of the tee-tiniest 5 year olds you’ll ever see but don’t judge a book by its cover and all that. Maeve has opinions and you will hear them! [/ QUOTE ] I once won an award for "Most Readily Providing A Viewpoint" so Maeve and I would get along really well! [ QUOTE ] Just a warning in case you want to put down your drink…not a la Eileen and Karen, “I’m gonna laugh so hard I may ruin the keyboard when I snort Diet Coke out my nose” style, but Scarlett style, i.e., “I’m very sleepy and bored and I better move this drink before my nodding-off head knocks it over onto the keyboard.” See the difference? [/ QUOTE ] Nope - you belong in the first category, as the stain on the front of my shirt will attest. You are definitely a "splurt causer"... [ QUOTE ] Hey, if you can’t laugh about it, then uh, get out of the kitchen, or whatever that saying is…and also, probably stay away from my family in general, because we laugh about everything, at least half of which is inappropriate. [/ QUOTE ] My point exactly -- the above statement is what caused the great big ol' stain on the front of my shirt! Great stuff, Scarlett! I'm totally hooked and looking forward to the hilarity -- or the HI-larity, as the case may be! And please let it be an epic -- or an EPIC SAGA, as my long-suffering-DH would term it. I like 'em long and full of details! Eileen |

As being born and bred in IL I do not consider myself a "Northerner" but a "Midwesterer". Please correct your geographical concept!! |

When I lived in Central Illinois, the people around me were astounded when I labeled them as midwesterners. They thought of themselves as Southern. <<shrug>> Eileen |
