| Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip Report - THREAD 3 Day 9 Part 1 Updated 10/1 Thanks for a great report Marnie. What a wonderful 10th anniversary trip!! Our DD Tessa is 5 so I always enjoy reading your reports and seeing what Alexa had fun doing at WDW this time around. I know Tessa is going to want to go to BBB after she sees those pictures! Looking forward to your final thoughts and pictures. |

| Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip Report - THREAD 3 Day 9 Part 1 Updated 10/1 Final Thoughts on the Grand Fiesta Trip Boy, where do I begin. What a magical trip we had We pretty much did it all However even being down there for 16 days, there were still things we missed. I guess that’s what other trips are for!! Here’s a list of some favorites! Best Meals Spoodles California Grill Wolfgang Puck Café (West Side) Til We Meet Again Dinner (Disney Wonder) Palo - dinner (Disney Wonder) Favorite Things BBB for Alexa The IllumiNations Cruise on the Breathless Cirque du Soleil The entire Cruise!! Stingray Adventure on CC Parasailing Things Missed Fantasmic Animal Kingdom Parade Canada and France movies Splash Mountain Tower of Terror Spectro (just saw bits and pieces) Accomodations I must say, we had the time of our life at the BC this time. Great location, close to everything, and the kids are bigger now and really enjoyed SAB and the slide. We also had a great time (as usual) at AKL. Great location and great view. What can I say about the Disney Wonder. Everyone’s absolute favorite of the trip, and if you can swing a category 6 stateroom (midship), I’d highly recommend it Alas, our stay at the Poly was less than magical. I know I’m in the minority here, but it just didn’t do anything for us. Not sure if it had anything to do with “coming down” after getting off the Wonder, but we won’t be staying here again anytime soon That said, I think it was just too much packing/unpacking this trip. Counting the off-site hotel the first night, and the stay at Port Canaveral, we were in six different rooms this trip, which was a bit too much. Dining I listed the best meals at the top already, but just a quick review of the dining plan. I haven’t gone back to add up everything, but I think we ended up breaking even or even making money on the plan. That said, I really tried to maximize the benefits, and we ate at some restaurants that we might have skipped on our normal trips (not a bad thing). However, it was really just too much food for us. We’re more of a one big meal a day (if that) and prefer to use counter service and just snack our way around. Having the dining plan caused us to order much more food than we’d normally eat, although it was nice that the bill had zeroes at the end of the meal! If you’re big eaters, I’d recommend the plan, as you really can get your money’s worth. If you’re light eaters like us (and have young kids who are picky – I think they only ate pizza) then it’s probably not for you. It was fun trying it out though, although it caused me some angst having to try and plan down to the last detail every meal. The Cruise I just can’t say enough good things about the cruise. If you haven’t done one, SHAME ON YOU Go out and book yourself a trip today It was magical. I’m not sure if it was all the extras we got because they were getting ready for special sailings, or what, but we all just had a great time. Alexa loved the kids club (like I knew she would) and Colin even managed to spend some time there as well. The only downfall was the kids didn’t want to wait in line for the characters (which was fine) and the lines were quite long I’ve already been scouting plans for our next cruise (which will be at least 7 days) and I just can’t wait! DO A DISNEY CRUISE!! Some final pics…….. From the Cruise….. Photopass Thanks for reading along everyone I really do appreciate it! |
