Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip Report - THREAD 3 Day 9 Part 1 Updated 10/1 Marnie - I'm so sad that you didn't feel the magic at Poly. I stayed there with my parents in 1972 and have always wanted to go back. One of the reasons the pool may be smaller is that when the resort was originally built you could actually swim in the lake. I remember using the beach and swimming and water skiing when we were there. Hope your stay gets better.

Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip Report - THREAD 3 Day 9 Part 1 Updated 10/1 Day 14 Part 4......Would the luau be a hit?? We checked in at the luau, and the CM told us we got the best seat in the house. She said you must have reserved this early, and I said yes, in January (see, it pays to reserve early) We got our picture taken for the family portrait, and then waited with the throngs of others to get into the theater. We were finally able to get in, and were shown to our seats! And what great seats they were. Front row, center stage The server came around asking for drink requests. I just partook in the complimentary wine, and Matt had a pina colada (virgin). He wanted to get the kids glow cubes, so they shared a virgin daiquiri. Here too, looking at the receipt, the 18% gratuity was already included Watch those receipts people Then they started bringing out the food. YUM-O. The pineapple bread was to die for Colin and I must have had two loaves a piece. Alexa wouldn’t touch it because it had pineapple in it The salad was also very good, and Colin ate a healthy portion of that too! Then they did a section of the luau. Then the main course came out. Rice, chicken, and ribs. It was all very good, and we devoured most of it Then time for some more luau. Alexa went up on the stage for something. I think they were calling all kids up (Colin wouldn’t go). Alexa has the lei on Then dessert came. BLECH! Not that good, and what does chocolate mousse have to do with Hawaii It doesn’t even look appetizing Then the main part of the luau started. It was a good show, and I’m glad I did it. I wouldn’t do it every trip (mainly due to the expense) but I got the DDE discount, so that made it more worthwhile. And since this was the Grand Fiesta trip, why not Alexa fell asleep on me, and not sure if Colin made it thru the show or not (we did the late show). Since we had been up so early to get off the boat, it was finally catching up with her. We carried her back to the room, but stopped at the beach to watch the end of Wishes. The music was very quiet here, and you could hardly hear it! Once back in the room, it was lights out. Memories of our Fourteenth Day Today was…….humid, sunny AM, rainy afternoon, low 90s. The best thing today was……Alexa participating in FoLK show. The worst thing today was….where do I start? Leaving the ship , and checking into a not so magical Poly. The funniest thing today was………Colin stuffing his face at dinner at the luau. Today we tried……..Chef Mickey’s for lunch and the Luau for dinner……. And the result was……..we’d definitely do both again. The most magical moment today was…………no magical moments today…..it was a down day! Coming Up Next……..Another Magical Beginnings Morning, More Rain, and a Missed Meet

Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip Report - THREAD 3 Day 9 Part 1 Updated 10/1 Oh, those sleepy kids in their tropical shirts -- how cute!! Glad that the luau wasn't a bad experience. It sounds tasty and your pictures were great. Looks like Disney Casting found a place to put those out-of-work Tarzans! Was the chocolate mousse supposed to be a volcano? Yech is right -- looked downright gory! Once again, I'm wanting more, more, more! Eileen
