The Happy Birthday,Anniversary,Campers Trip! Pre-trip report

Since we are now down to the One month to go countdown, I figured it was time for a pre-trip report from us!

The Happy Birthday, Anniversary , Campers Trip!!!!!!!!!
Pre Trip Report
January 13-17 2007

Who is Traveling?

Danae(me) , age 25, A Disney Freak who dreams of Disney numerous times a day. And text messages DH about every one of them. Newlywed. 3rd trip to Disney

Micah, age 25, Newly Danae’s DH, 5th trip to Disney and is used to getting “I want to go to Disney” text messages from his DW…numerous times a day.

Choice of travel:

Driving

Where are we staying?

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground
Loop 1500

Meaning of our trip name:

Micah’s 26th Birthday is being celebrated at the World on January 17th!
Micah and Danae’s 6th Month Wedding Anniversary is on January 17th, as well!
Our first time as Happy Campers in Fort Wilderness!

This all started in September 2003 when Danae and Micah began dating. Neither had any idea that there was a Disney freak out there like them. We soon began to realize our love for Disney. Micah’s parents have brought him there over Christmas for a few years. Danae was amazed to find so much in common with him and his family with Disney. Who knew that there were others out there that dreamed of Disney World day and night like her.

Our first trip together was in April 2005 for an Engagement trip. We stayed at POR and LOVED it. We also did the Keys to the Kingdom tour and learned many amazing and wonderful things about the Magic Kingdom (recommend!). We also got some extra treatment on this trip in the Animal Kingdom by getting front row seats at the Festival of the Lion King (Micah even got to demonstrate a Wart Hog!)
After this trip, Micah and I both said that we could wait a few years to come back, due to the crazyyyy lines and crowds. Not to mention the nightmares with waiting for buses.
But, after about ,oh, a DAY of being home…..we were off planning our next trip!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were originally going to go on our honeymoon on the Disney Cruise. But, went against it and opted for a private secluded cabin in the Smoky Mountains. Eventho, it was amazing and we had a great time, we told each other, while there, how much we wanted to go back to Disney and wished we could have had two honeymoons. So, guess what happened the day we got home from our Honeymoon the reservations got booked!

And that is how our The Happy Birthday, Anniversary, Campers Trip began!!!!!!!
To start off Micah and I got married on June 17,2006. So I still think of us as NEWLYWEDS! Too bad they don’t have a pin for that at Disney World.
Our first purchase as husband and wife was our wonderful Coleman pop up camper! And what better way to use it than at Disney’s Fort Wilderness!!!!!!!!!!
We are both very outdoorsy nature people and know that Fort Wilderness will be a place for us to call home for a week!

We have never tried any of the Resorts or Parks restaurants , so what better time to book the Hoop de do Musical Revue. And , of course, Danae mentioned to them when making reservations that it is Micah’s Bday! Cannot wait to see what they have up their sleeves. So we are both very excited and anxious for this! And have heard such great revues about the show.

That is where we are at in our planning stages now. And just hoping that the days fly by after Christmas, so that January gets here sooner!

Re: The Happy Birthday,Anniversary,Campers Trip! Pre-trip report

Sounds like a great trip! Me and my husband camped in a tent at Fort Wilderness in 1999. We were on loop 1500 also, it's a great location. You can walk across the street to the pool and trading post. Loop 1500 was a mix of tents and pop-up campers when we were there. It's also a very small loop, and shares a comfort station with Loop 1600, which had me concerned about whether I might have to wait to take a shower. But no worries, as Loop 1600 looked to be all RV's which had their own bathrooms inside. The comfort station was never crowded, I hardly ever saw anybody in there. Since Loop 1500 is small, the comfort station was a short walk from all the sites. We were on site 1517, and there were only about 21 sites in total. Have a great time! I'll be checking out your report to see what you thought.
