Thom and I talked the next day that this is what so many people (including friends of ours) do not understand about Disney. They think that it’s just a big theme park and have no idea that world class dining can easily be found there - - it definitely can be found at Jiko.

Jill, I am catching up, but had to take a minute and tell you how thrilled I was that you had such a great meal at Jiko! And, of course, I agree 100% with you and Thom about the world class dining at WDW. As you know, it's always a big part of our trips. I hope you have reassured Mary Devall that Jiko has just the right amount of wine.

Thank you for sharing your trip! The four of you are so fun and loving, I enjoyed "tagging along!" We are taking our granddaughter in January (it's a big family trip) and she will be 14 months old. Hopefully she will enjoy it as much as Maddie. We'll let her take the lead as you did with Maddie.

What a wonderful trip report and the girls are just adorable. I am reading all the trip reports, I have 58 days until I am there with my Dh, DS, DDIL. and DGS 4 yrs, I hope he takes to the characters like Maddie and Mary Devall.

knew exactly where this was headed, but we all finally agreed that she and Thom could play one game. While they shot hoops, I ventured over to a nearby stand to see if they had frozen lemonade. I didn’t have any luck and I soon saw that they didn’t either. Mary Devall was already in the stroller crying and saying that she wanted to play more. At that point, I knelt down beside the stroller and had a little heart-to-heart with her. I told her that I did not agree with these games and that Disney should be about having fun and riding rides - - not taking children’s money when they’ve already paid a good bit to get into the park. She apparently paid attention to what I said because she soon dried her tears and began repeating my own words back to me. “Momma, they shouldn’t have those games here.” I know that the games are part of the “carnival” atmosphere of Dino Land, but I just don’t feel that they belong in a Disney park - - the state fair maybe, but not Disney. I just feel that they are a magnet for children and result in a lot of hurt feelings when a parent has to say “no” or the child loses a game. Sorry, I digress.

I'm just getting caught up now (I'm a slow reader with trip reports), but we had issues with these games too (especially in January). My dad asked me to write and complain about these to Disney. My parents paid for the kids to play a game, but we really didn't feel they belonged here either (it was the one thing my dad really complained about--- he was really mad). The worst is my kids had to sit at one game for 10 minutes (after we paid our money), because she wouldn't start the game until she had a certain amount of kids--- that was really frustrating for us with a 3 year old with a limited amount of patience. I finally flipped out a little (not one of my finer moments), and she started the game without her quota.

I think we're living parallel lives. At Tony's we had this god awful server (male) with absolutely no personality. Aidan asked if he could have more milk, and the server said "well, you can, but you can't"--- I was like-- huh? What do you mean, he can't??? He said, I can bring you some more, but you're going to have to pay for it, no free refills. Noone cared about paying for it--- his "you can, but you can't" really was annoying, because I saw this look of disappointment in Aidan's face--- what an idiot, the kid's thirsty, did we really need that??

What a great trip report!!!!! Your girls are adorable! I can't believe how big Mary Devall has gotten since we met you guys in January '06!! It looks like you had a blast!
