Wow Jill - what an amazing trip you have planned. Your plans sound fantastic - funnily enough I'm planning a Narcoosees visit whilst sticking Kat in the Neverland Club, so I CANT WAIT for full details.

And best of all, we have an epic Jillybean report to look forward to

I'm so excited that you started your Pre-TR Jill! I love reading about your families adventures together. All your plans sound like a magical dream . I can't wait to hear what you thought of the WL Concierge. Your restaurant choices sound yummy and it will be so nice to meet up with some passporters for dinner and breakfast. Looking forward to hearing more of your plans. Your girls are so lucky to have a mom that loves Disney so much!

I've been gone for a couple of days, and was so pleased to see a Koenig caper when I returned! I so look forward to reading your TRs, Jill! Please promise me this one will last throughout the summer. My ds is having surgery May 29th and will be in a cast for most of the summer; I'm going to need some excellent reading material, and your trip report qualifies! I know you'll have a wonderful time.

I've heard that Concourse Steakhouse is either going away altogether or is being redesigned in a different location in the Contemporary. We just wanted to catch it while it still was the Concourse!

The “I’ve never been to Disney for 10 days before” Pre trip report Updated 5/7

Our plans continued . . .

We were contacted by WL concierge shortly after I made our ADRs, so I really didn’t think I could use their services until I realized that we still needed to book Maddie’s babysitter with Kids’ Night Out and Thom’s golf. The only problem was that most of these things fell outside of our stay in concierge. I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to ask and I was pleasantly surprised when they booked everything that I had requested without a moment’s hesitation. They even included a list of my entire itinerary (including of all of the ADRs and tours that I had booked). A few weeks ago, I had the idea that a massage would fit perfectly during the time that Mary Devall was on the Pirate Cruise at GF. I emailed the concierge staff again and they booked exactly what I wanted when I wanted it. A girl could get used to this!

Finally, how are we getting there? When we first talked about this trip, we were definitely flying although I had only priced tickets. Then we drove down for our January trip and we realized that both our girls were good little riders. I also reminded Thom that we had two other upcoming trips this year where we would need to fly, so any money that we could save would help. This decision was pretty much cemented a couple of weeks ago due to Thom’s work. He does a good bit of business in Sea Island, Georgia which is a little over half way to Disney and he usually goes there once a month for the day. Things are coming to a head over the next month, so he has been going down every Thursday and will continue to do so until our trip. Instead of him going down the Thursday before our trip and then turning around and leaving for Disney the next day, we decided that we would go with him on that Thursday. He’ll drop us off at a nearby resort on St. Simons Island which I had oddly enough discovered in my latest issue of Southern Living, go do his business and then join us on the beach. Our trip is extended with a day at a beach resort, his company will be paying for half of our gas money and we will be able to easily reach Disney by late morning the next day!

To add even more fun . . . a few months ago, Sheana announced that she, Kris and Myka would be at Disney for the latter part of our trip so we plan to spend some time with them at AK one morning. There is also a Wishes meet later in the week that I hope we can make! I am so excited about seeing old PP friends and meeting new ones too!

Another piece of unexpected news came late last week when I read that the Flower & Garden Festival would be wrapping up three days into our trip on a day when we were going to Epcot! Mary Devall and I had attended the last two years, but I had not even dreamed that it would still be going on during this trip! When I told her she was so excited - - probably more for the playgrounds and Minnie’s Butterfly garden but still excited all the same.

After our trip in January, Mary Devall and I made a paper chain to count down this trip. I had bought her stickers at Disney to decorate the chain, but as she is a very liberal “sticker” we were only able to make 30 links on our chain. The chain has been sitting on our bookshelf for a few months patiently waiting its moment in the sun. Last week I was finally able to take it down and Mary Devall has been excitedly taking them off one by one. I cannot believe that we are so close! I can almost taste the turkey and dressing (and apple cobbler) at our first ADR at LTT!

The next few weeks will be filled with checking off items from my “to do” list and reviewing and re-reviewing our itinerary (created in my very own big a$$ spreadsheet ala Karen). My spreadsheet has already earned me a name at Thom’s place of business. I sent him a draft of it months ago which he then shared in a training class by projecting it from his laptop onto a screen at the front of the room. He said everyone was impressed, but I’m more inclined to believe that they think I’m nuts.

So . . . about mid-June . . . I’ll be back in this space filling your heads with more detail than you ever wanted to know. You know me . . . I don’t leave out anything . . . the good . . . the bad . . . and the ugly, but I know it’s going to be all good. It has to be . . . because I’ve never been to Disney for 10 days before.

Jill

When I saw that you were staying concierge for the first few nights of your trip, I wondered if you knew they would make your ADRs for your entire stay. But, by the time I read your first post, it was too late to share that with you.

Glad you were able to use the planning service for a few extra bookings. And your right, a girl could get used to that!

How cool that you get to see the F&G festival again. Sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned. Enjoy!!!!!
