| Hi! This is my first trip report (as you can probably tell by how brand spankin’ new to the boards I am), so let me introduce myself. And let me also say that I LOVE the TR thread more than anything and I’m way psyched to be adding one my own. You guys are awesome and so entertaining! My name is Shannon. I’m 23 years old and absolutely OBSESSED with everything and anything Disney. I’ve been to WDW a bunch of times in the past (I don’t know the exact number because a lot of the trips were taken when I was little). Recently, I’ve been taking trips with my friends (who are DVC-ers, so lucky me!) for the past few visits, but that’s about to change!! I’m a senior in college, majoring in Travel/Tourism Management, with a hope to move down to Florida next summer and start working for the Mouse *crosses fingers*. Here’s a visual:![]() Oh, and I’m a pirate. Arr. Don’t let my seemingly innocent, girly exterior fool you. So I’m way excited about the PotC renovations that I have yet to see. And I’ve been craving a pretzel from the Germany pavilion of the World Showcase for TWO YEARS (seriously, they’re better than the pretzels I got in the REAL Germany. I kid you not.) Now, let’s introduce the rest of the party going on the trip. Chris (DBF). He’s my hot rock star! ![]() We’ve been dating for about a year-and-a-half, and he’s just wonderful. Poor thing, he has to put up with my Disney obsession on a daily basis, since we live together. I have to admit, I’m most excited about him going on this trip— it’s the first time I’m going to my favorite place on earth with a significant other. So I’m expecting things to be very special and romantic. Chris is the lead singer and guitarist for The Sunday Drive, his awesome band. They’re quite good—I suggest you check them out! (Sorry for the plug… I have to be a good groupie! ) He’s 22 years old, loves Curious George, and is scared of the Tower of Terror (he’s already refusing to even TRY it… and I’ve agreed not to push him. Maybe.) He’s been to Disney once or twice when he was younger.Next up is my mom (DM), the lady who made this whole trip happen! (This picture was at Christmas, when my sister gave me Moon Shoes as a present—essentially, you tie rubber bands onto these big boxy-shoe-things and bounce up and down on them. Mom was having fun. ) I can’t give out her age ‘cause she’d kill me, but she’s a teacher and the reason why this trip is happening. I’ll explain later. She’s a BIG fan of Dole Whips—even though she hasn’t had one in years! She’s took me on my many WDW trips that I had when I was younger, but she hasn’t been back since… 1998? Somewhere around there.Aunt Joanie (DA): ![]() (Again, Moon Shoes. I’m going to get beat up for posting these pictures.) You know how everyone seems to have a fun-loving, crazy aunt? Aunt Joanie is mine. She’s awesome, and can’t wait to drink her way through WDW. That’s something you should all know—my family likes to drink. Not in the unhealthy, Lindsay Lohan way, but in the way where it’s our vacation and why not pay $12 for a beer? Aunt Joanie is desperate to get to Typhoon Lagoon and relax in the lazy river. She’s been to the World a few times, but hasn’t been there in quite a few years. My sister, Audrey (DS): ![]() Audrey and I are closer than most sisters, I think. It might have something to do with everything we’ve been through, but it also helps that we have the same sense of humor and pretty much laugh the whole time we’re together. We’re very much alike. Aud’s 28 (I think?) and is scared of Spaceship Earth (which will be closed when we go, lucky for her!) Audrey hasn’t been to Disney for awhile now, since she’s only gone with the family. Lastly, there’s John, Audrey’s boyfriend (D…S…B…F???). ![]() John’s my hero ever since we went to Atlantic City and he sang “Jump Around” (“Pack it up, pack it in, let me begin…”) at a karaoke bar. He’s somewhat of a foodie, and wanted to pick the most eclectic place to eat in WDW (he picked Marrakesh). He just became an uncle, so congrats to him! John went to WDW recently, either last year or the year before, so he’s kind of caught up on all of the new stuff. So there’s my cast! Next, I’ll post the very long story of how this trip came to be (and the reason why I started a Pre-Trip Report a month and a half before the actual trip).
