| Day 1 updated 10-23-07 Day 1 – 10/11/07 Plans: EPCOT AM ADR @ LeCellier Steakhouse @ 2:10 pm MNSSHP PM Got up at 4 am – couldn’t sleep any longer Sate outside, enjoyed the early am weather, and had coffee. Got ready for the day and headed to EPCOT @ 8:15, parked opens @ 9 today. Sat & people watched for a while, the headed into line. The gates opened @ 8:50 the to a rope drop @ Innoventions west. Headed straight for Soaring. All the other people headed for Fast Pass (FP). I got right in line wait time including walking was less then 10 minutes. I loved the ride. It was great; I can see why people rush to it. Had breakfast in the land, Platter included eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuit OJ & a drink. Next hit the Living with the land, short wait time < 10 minutes. Not sure if I like it with out the human driver. Headed to Nemo, not a big do again for me. Them hit Test Track (single rider) and Mission Space (green) all before 11:30. Test Track too < 10 minutes, I got to carry that little red timer card. The guy who rode next to me loved the ride. He hooted & who hood all the way through and teased his wife about her bad driving. Was done in Future World, really missed Spaceship Earth, not a big fan of HISK and Universe of Energy so I didn’t do them. Next headed into World Showcase. Stopping first in Mexico to ride “Grand Fiesta Tour”, update is quite, not overdone. @ Norway stopped in that little church, should stop if you can, it very quaint. Wondered through the shops, in the next couple of countries, didn’t stop to see many shows just not interested in them. And I skipped Italy & France altogether, they just have to much perfume for my poor nose. Wonder through UK on my way to Canada for a 2:10 ADR at LeCellier. Got to Canada @ 1 pm to early to check in so I want in to see the new film with Martin Short. That had a couple of bears come in to entertain everyone before the movie. They are cute and very flirtatious on giving everyone “bear” hugs. Enjoyed the movie a lot, (as the crow flies I live about 24 miles, on very clear night we can actually see a power plant there.) It was a very nice film and the showing of the different seasons was a neat way to do it. Check in @ 1:50 for my 2:10 and was sat in about 5 minutes. Lunch was a Tomato Stack appetizer, Petit Filet with mashed sweet potatoes and a chocolate moose for desert; I had a Niagara Refresher (frozen non-alcoholic drink). Total with tax and gratuity was $50.13 (1 table service credit). All good but nothing grand, I thought the steak was a bit gamey tasting. Left EPCOT between 2:30 – 3 pm headed back to Hotel to hit the pool. The weather was getting cloudy they say a cold front was heading our way. Only stay for a quick swim sun was behind clouds and the wind was chilly. Headed back to room, showered and decided to nap for an hour (which turned into 2). Headed to catch boat for MNSSHP and had the longest wait of the week, close to and hour to get a boat (big, big crowd). Finally got to MK (8 ish) quick thorough security (no bags) and headed straight to Adventure land, did some Trick n Treating (TnT) on the way to Pirates. I really like the update to this ride, it seams cleaner inside and the addition of Captain Jack was just the right amount. It was close to the time for the fireworks so I headed back to the castle to get a spot in front but was off to the side, still had a great view. Snacked on a funnel cake and water, the fireworks were wonderful. After they were done move back toward Liberty Square, & TnT my way to the Haunted Mansion was so looking forward the this, I’ve always enjoy this attraction and hoped that the update they did only make it better. All I can say is GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, and the CM’s for this attraction on MNSSHP night only make it betters. They get into character very well with white face and no speech, kinda spooky. Every thing looks great and sound great. The new attic seen with the bride and her many husbands was well done, watch the photos closely. The motions of the cars are still very jerky and could be smoother though.TnT my way to the front through Fantasyland (boy do you make out) so I could catch the 10:30 Halloween parade. This is a very good parade, with all the characters and CM “dressed” up for the holiday the whole thing is fun and entertaining. The parade seems longer that spectromagic but it could be that I’m just tired. Decided at this point to stop for the day and made it very slowly (my choice) to the front of the park, stopped once outside the Plaza Restaurant and sat in a chair for while, while the crowds passed by. Started to head out again and whenever I hit a crowed just “pulled over” and waited. By the time I got to the boat I waited about 15 minutes for one to came and was in bed by midnight. Temp today high 90°, low 71° no rain |
