We got to WDW in no time, and I had to wake Mummy up so she could see the sign. After stops at OKW and SSR we were dropped off at POFQ. It was HOT!! We sweat our way to the front desk and got our keys to the world J Our rooms weren’t ready so we hopped on the boat to DTD. We had lunch at Earl of Sandwich and it was delicious as usual. Mummy and I both had the Earl’s Club, John had Cannonballs and Jay had the beef n bleu. This was the first time we had used the dining plan, so I inquired about what I could get and opted for the fruit cup. Mummy also grabbed a fruit cup and the other girl told her that wasn’t allowed. This place was packed and Jay had to stalk a seat for us. When we finally sat down, I gave Scout some of my sandwich and my fruit. The kid sitting next to us had gotten one of those “put as many legos as you can in a cup for one price” and proceeded to explode it’s contents all over the floor. Mummy and I helped the weeping youngster find his pieces in the over crowded nonsense, and then we packed up.
Once we left EoS, we went into 365 of Christmas. Mummy really enjoyed this store. It was nice and cool, and smells all yummy Did they take the big copper music thing out of here? I didn’t see it. We left empty handed and walked over to Once upon a toy. We looked at the potato parts (I totally forgot to get these before we left) and saw the make your own light saber…cute. While we were in there a crazy dad ran his stroller straight into Scout’s stroller. Jay had even pulled to the side to avoid crazed dad, and he still slammed into her. As he breezed by a cast member came flying over to make sure Scout was okay. I think she may have given her some Mickey stickers too, but we got so many this week it’s hard to remember . We wandered through the rest of the store looking at all of the fun stuff. I could’ve blown some major funds on that my little pony stand…oh my! I used to love those silly little ponies. I tried to buy Jay a hat, but he declined
We left empty handed and wandered over to the kids’ play fountains. Scout loves water, and dove right in.
We played for a few minutes before we decided it was time to head back to the resort, we were all really tired.
When we walked off the dock at POFQ, I called and got our room numbers. 4142 and 4141…building 4, floor 1! They at least got some of my requests for us J
We walked through the main building, hung a left and walked down building #4. As we got closer I noticed….we got a corner room!!!!! As we walked in, we saw it was also a connecting room with Mummy and John’s They had honored ALL of my requests! I was really excited, and it was a GREAT room.
Notice Jay passed out on the bad already, and Scout checking out the drawers The view from the front of our room...the cute little carriage house.
The side view was a little courtyard and the next building...very pretty!
Jay called for our luggage, and I noticed that there wasn’t a crib, so when Jay hung up the phone, I called the front desk and they said they’d send one right over. When the bags came, I noticed that they had forgotten the laptop bag (apparently those are stored behind the front desk) so I tipped the bellman, and then we got another knock, it was the laptop. I tipped THAT bellman and closed the door. Wait a minute…where are our checked bags? I called luggage again, and they sent our bags. I tipped ANOTHER bellman, and closed the door. Another knock…the crib, she set it up and another tip later we were finally done. Really tired, and $20 lighter I hopped in the shower (to wash the “plane ick” off) and Jay layed down with Scout for a nap. I called and set the wake up and dozed for a few. We had been up for a long time today with very little sleep over the last few days, so this felt really good.
Mickey and Stitch woke us up and I got Scout ready for dinner. She wore a red white and blue dress for Liberty Tree Tavern As we walked up to the bus stop a Magic Kingdom bus pulled away, but one followed shortly and we were off. This was the first sighting of Jay’s stroller envy. As he lugged our Cadillac sized stroller onto the bus, he saw a woman with a Combi stoller that folded in half and created a hook to go over your arm. He talked about this stroller the whole week!
I'll have the turkey with a side of Johnny Depp please!
We disembarked and walked down the middle of Main St and Mummy and John looked all around checking everything out. They had started to put out some fall decorations and I noticed that they planted some corn, and by the looks of the height, it would be nearly full grown by Halloween.
We entered Liberty Square and I told Mummy some of the little facts about the tree and the bell and the lanterns. I think she really appreciated all of the little details that Disney puts into everything. We walked into LTT and checked in. The family in front of us was asking about the wait, but during free dining, no one had any openings. I think that shocked Mummy and John a little, and we were all thankful I was on the phone at 7am 6 months ago J
Mummy looked at all of the little things on the walls and reminisced about her farmhouse when she was a kid. They called our names and we were seated in the upper section on the right side (facing into the restaurant). We could see the characters circle and Scout was very interested in watching them. We got the salad first and it was great. Jay and I ate here a few years ago and were really unimpressed, but our dinner tonight was top notch. We were just getting our main courses when the first character approached. It was chip and he snuck up behind Scout’s high chair.
He tapped her on the shoulder and when she turn around….she cried. I think the shock of a 5 foot chipmunk was a little over whelming. Pluto came next and I pulled Scout onto my lap. Pluto motioned to Jay to pet his nose and Jay obliged. Scout pet him momentarily and pulled back. Dale came around and now Scout was ready to play. She grabbed his nose and smiled a little. By the time Goofy came around she squealed with laughter and excitement. Minnie came through and gave jay the thumb up for his underdog shirt. She was sweet as usual J We were nearly stuffed to the gills when dessert came out. John was wondering what the rest of us were going to have It was yummy too! Our server here was fantastic Bill!
After dinner we headed to pirates for Mummy and Scout’s first ride. We parked the stroller and John and Jay went to the right. Someone stepped in front of me so I went to the left. I had forgotten that there was two lines. So Mummy, Scout and I were on our own, The wait said 15 minutes but the ride was a walk on. I loved the updates and Jack Sparrow was spot on! We had a Dad and his daughters behind us. One of the little girls was cared and the Dad kept saying “it aint real, baby, it’s all farce, it’s all farce baby”. The best part was his very southern accent. I can’t tell you the last time I used the word farce, but I’m working it into my vocabulary I love this ride Mummy really enjoyed it too. We met back up with the guys in the gift shop and Mummy bought my aunt a Jack Sparrow car sticker
Mummy wanted to ride the magic carpets, but the line was pretty long, so we rode iasw. Now, I’ve been known to try to throw myself overboard on this ride, but Scout absolutely loves it, and I found myself wishing it was longer We stopped to watch Wishes near the rose garden. It wasn’t where I wanted to be but the crowds were thick tonight and we couldn’t push through any farther. We saw Tink fly, but we couldn’t hear the music from where we were standing, so I told Mummy we’d be here for the fireworks another night and we headed into Fantasyland for a couple of rides. I didn’t realize how out of control the fireworks are in Fantasyland. They surround you. I covered Scout’s ears and plowed through. Right near the carousel I heard something land next to me. I looked down and it was one of the shells from the fireworks. If I had been one step to the left it would have corked me right in the melon!
We headed into Mickey’s Philharmagic and watched the show. I saw this show when it was being previewed and I’ve loved it ever since. Mummy and John liked it a lot too.
We decided to call it a night and left. There was a bus waiting but it was pretty full, so we let it go and waited for the next one. We listened to Crickets and Banjos until we got back to our room. I was surprised that they had separate busses for French Quarter and Riverside. I thought they would be merged! It was still pretty full with just french quarter guests I set the Mickey wake up and hit the hay…tomorrow was going to be our first full day and we had to be up early.
Wow! What a great start! I am shocked that Jay didn't want that hat at DtD!
Scout is just too cute, and I am glad that she is enjoying the characters and the rides. She's such a good little traveler, so I guess that means you'll have to start planning your next trip soon!
So, if anyone has any ideas...I'm all ears! I don't think we're going to dress up fully, but we definitely need to get in the spirit of it all. Halloween was all but nonexistant in my house as a child (my parents never really fancied the holiday), so I'm a costume rookie
How about orange t-shirts with eye, nose, mouth - jack-o-lantern style?? Easy, cheap and quick! Stick them on with fusible interfacing (you're a seamstress - this should be a snap).

Can't wait for more! You know I think Scout's a total cutie!
I can't believe what a long weekend you guys had - rehearsals, weddings, traveling, POFQ, MK . . . . OMG, how did you do it all with a baby???? Well your trip is off to a good start and luckily Scout is warming up to the characters early on. That's a good sign. Glad to hear you liked LTT, we'll have to try that one next time. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your week. I just started my TR. Hint, hint
