Well we just got home today from 6 days at POP. I love this resort, Ive said it before and Ill say it again, I love this place. I miss the magic already. I feel like an idiot saying that, but I really do. Well I wrote my pre-trip, so I here my post trip. We did our favorites and some firsts. There was me, my mom and my 2 ds (13and3). We stayed in the 50s bldg1, on the opposite side of the pool on the end. It was great, nice and quiet, ground floor, which we loved seeing 2 of our 4 have mobility issues. We had the walkway to the pool right next to us, and the HUGE Lady statue was right there as we passed through the walkway. The lil one loved these statues. Even more so this year.
Well Can I say 1 thing about this August trip?? HOLY HOTNESS!!!!! We were done everyday by 1pm, we just couldnt take the humidity, and then it rained all but 2 days. But this is Disney, we didnt let it stop us.
We arrived, used DME for the first time, and it was great, checked in, ate, went to our room, and napped. Our day started at a 330am wake up, because our flight left at 6am. After a much needed nap for all, we went to DTD to get our shopping out of the way. This was a down pour that started as we pulled up to the DTD bus stop, and at this point the driver told me, it hadnt rained for 2 weeks. It did not stop, worst rain I have ever seen. So we went in and out of the shops, I eventually bought ponchos, because the ones I brought with us, I packed in our checked luggage. Oh, 1 thing about DME, they do not deliver in a rain storm, we didnt get our luggage until 1130 pm, after arriving at MCO at 1045am. Anywho...we still had a blast at DTD, we made our light sabres, we had ADRs at CaptNJacks, and the food was great, service was ok, but overall experience there was great. So after being soaked to the bone, we headed back.
Ok early morning wake up, for Morning EMH at AK, did Everest, Kiliminjaro Safari, tri ceratop spin twice...went back to POP, to nap then headed to AKL to eat dinner at BOMA, I LOVED THIS PLACE. I tried so many new and different foods, however I was the only one, my 2 DS are so picky they had nothing really to choose from, and my mom is not as adventurous with food as I am. I loved the couscous salad, and the ZEBRA DOMES.....MMMMMMMMMM, and this red velvet cake pyramid was scrumptous as well. After dinner we walked the grounds, I love this resort too. Then back to POP.
Another early morning wake up, for MK, and breakfast at CP, 1 of our favorite places. We rode POC for the first time, twice. Can I just say, Love IT, Jack Sparrow looks just like Johnny Depp. MMMMMMMMMM....ha. Of course the old favorites too, except BTMR was closed for some reason. We rode Buzz Lightyear a first too, this was so cute, and did Its a Small World, this was cute, however, my legs were cramped by half way through the ride, Snow Whites Scarey Adventure was a first too, I love these story telling rides, Pooh adventures as well, Goofys Barnstormer was a great little ride, my lil one loved this, he was laughing out loud the whole time and wanted to go on it again. We were all so hot that we were back to POP by 1130. We took a nap and then me and my oldest went to TL, this wave pool is AWESOME, and we did CrushNGusher the coconut one. Then back to the room
Yet early to rise again MGM, we did TOT first, this is 1 of our favorite rides, then a first RNR, and DS first upside down coaster too, He LOVED it, says its his new FAVORITE. We did The Great Movie Ride, then ate lunch at Sci-Fi, this is another favorite of ours. Then we went back to rest, this day was extremely hot. Me and the oldest went back to MK later on, and rode POC again and BTMR was open so we rode.
This was EPCOT, talk about HOT, we couldnt take it, we did what we wanted and left, Test Track, Nemo, Living Seas, Figment, the World. Went back to the hotel. We did Chef Mickeys for Dinner, and it was great, I had the boys bday there, so they brought out cupcakes with candles and the charactors came back over to them, great interaction here, and loved the Contemporary.
All in all was a great trip, we didnt wait longer than 10 minutes for a ride, but the heat was really hot for us. I dont know if Id go back in summer months or not. Id have to weigh the crowds with the heat I guess. I am planning our next trip already or trying to. We are not going next year, because I am having surgery early next year, so we want to do xmas in 09, hopefully at AKL.....who knows, I may changed my mind and decide to go next year anyway....

We were there the 23-28 and it stormed every night except the last one. The heat and humidity were bad but not as bad as it was in June. Welcome back. Glad you had a great trip despite the heat and rain.
