The Jolly Holiday w/ Noonie PTR 10/24-10/29 - UPDATED 10/23

The Jolly Holiday w/ Noonie PTR 10/24-10/29

Who
Me: Maria-"NOONIE"(25 love love love Disney with a passion) 5th trip

Ben (my husband loves Disney almost as much as me) 6th trip

Mallory (my 14 year old little sister not as dorky as us about Disney but loves it all the same) 3rd trip

Kaia (my 7 year old niece and godchild who is our rookie)1rst WDW vacation

me and Kaia at my wedding last year

Where
Pop Century Resort (hope fully in the 50’s facing the Bowling Pin Pool)
MYW w/Dining

When
October 25-29

Why
Do we really need a reason?
It all started last week with a call from my older brother....he is going to surprise his wife and 4 year old son with a little weekend trip to WDW Oct 26-28...of course I invited myself.

Background:
**I have been to Disney 4 times always staying at a WDW resort my last trip was my husband an I’ s wonderful 9 day honeymoon last October at the CBR.
**Ben my DH has been to Disney 4 times but never stayed at a WDW resort until he met me (he called me a resort snob) but now he loves it and could not see doing a trip w/o it.
**Mallory my DS has been to Disney twice once when she was six and hated everything after being scared by Honey I shrink the Audience and then again when she was 12 where she appreciated it a lot more…she is an adrenaline junky.
**Kaia has done only one tragic day trip to the Magic Kingdom this summer with her dad where they arrived at noon and could only ride 2 rides and waited for 40 minutes for a popcorn. I convinced her parents to let me take her since she is on her fall break…it’s a surprise to her and she will not know where she is going until we are on our way to Florida…hope I can keep the secret.

Our Plan thus far…

Wednesday October 4th

-We leave Louisiana at 2:30PM as soon as Mallory get off the bus from school.
-We are going to do 9 hours of driving on this first day and sleep the night at a Holiday Inn Express 3 ½ hours outside of Orlando.

Thursday October 5th

-leave Holiday Inn Express at 6:30 AM
-arrive at Pop Century around 10:30 PM
-try to check in
-eat lunch at Pop Century food court
-head to Epcot at noon? Or Swim and relax until about 2PM?
-work way over to WSC and see a couple of countries before our dinner
-dinner at 7:50 PM @ Princess Storybook Dining - Restaurant Akershus
-watch Illuminations after dinner head back to resort

Friday October 26

-7 AM wake up call
-breakfast in room or food court
-arrive at Animal Kingdom @ 8:30
-eat lunch at Flame tree BBQ
-head back to room at around 2 PM
-rest relax swim
-head to Wilderness Lodge at 6PM to surprise my brother wife and my nephew-they have no idea there going to WDW and then will have no idea we are going to be there once they get there.
-we will all take the boat to MNSSHP ****right now I am working on a group costume for our foursome***
-Go to MNSSHP
-eat counter service dinner @ Pecos Bills
-return to resort

Saturday October 27

-6:30 Wake Up Call
-breakfast in room or at Pop food court
-arrive at MGM for EMH morning 8 AM
-eat lunch at MGM CS or head to boardwalk for Pizza?
-head back to Pop at 1 ish

I am not sure about the rest of the day it tentative…

But we have a reservation @ the Coral Reef for 7:50 PM which I may or may not change.

Sunday October 28 (my dh and my 1 year anniversary)
-Wake up call 6:30 PM
-Arrive for little one EMH
-Magic Kingdom Morning!!! I love MK in the morning …
Plan of Action:
Re-ride all favorite and ride things we couldn’t ride at MN
SSHP
-Leave at around 2
-head back to resort rest
-Go back to MGM for Fantasmic Dinner Package at The Brown Derby @ 4:50
-see Fantasmic and enjoy MGM EMH after

Monday October 29
10 AM-Departure

to be continued....because of course their has to be cha cha cha changes or its not my PTR

Things are getting more and more exciting as our trip gets closer….

Off course I booked all of our ADR's and then changed some because my husband started to fret.
I had originally scheduled the Coral Reef for Oct 27 but he was not up for trying it because of all the not so great reviews so I did some research and discovered that Spectro Magic was that night at MK (I have never see this parade)…so I asked him to tell me in order which table service meal he wants at Magic Kingdom…

His Choices in order:
#1 Tony’s Town Square
#2 Crystal Palace
#3 LTT

So today I called to change out reservation for October 27 the cast member who I could barley hear said the only reservation he had where Tony Town Square @ 8:55 and Crystal Palace @ 8:45 …to late for me and the kiddies. So I hung up without changing my reservation and spoke to my DH…he suggested I try the Whispering Canyon Café a place he has been hinting at wanting to eat… I agreed to call and check this time I got a really great cast member who seemed really eager to help me he had a reservation available for 8 PM at Whispering Canyon….I explained that I wanted to see Spectro Magic that night so 8 PM wouldn’t work …I explained that I had tried three places in the MK for dinner but the times were no good for us….he then said to give him a second…he said he could get me into the Crystal Palace at 6:20 PM and I said “BOOK IT” excitedly.

I gave never been to the crystal palace so I am super excited and I was able to work another character meal in for my niece Kaia.

***next keeping it a surprise from my niece & more changes to come

So guess who calls me today out of the blue….

My niece Kaia (she lives about 2 hours away and we have not seen her in awhile b/c of the joint custody). She wanted to tell me all about her new baby brother (born a month ago) but mostly she wanted to talk to me about her new American doll…so we chatted a bit and I forced myself not to shout out “I m taking you to Disney world!!!” but instead I told her I had a surprise for her around Halloween and I wanted to know what she wanted to be for Halloween (**so I could purchase it b/4 MNSSHP) So we discussed it for awhile and the she blurted out “Noonie (a nickname she gave me since she was 2) you have to tell me what the secret is…its going to drive me crazy!” She is just like me with surprises they eat her alive.
I told her she would know soon enough…and the she finally decided she wanted to be Jasmine this year for Halloween.

As soon as we hung up I went to the Disney Store Online and ordered a Jasmine costume for my sweetheart...

I also started to try to find a couple of cute things to put together in the car for her for the road trip…I found these at the Disney Outlet online for really cheap

I have to admit those masks look like fun the for the whole crew not just Kaia.

I also want to get my sister Mallory a Hidden Mickey book.

So things are coming along…

My next mission is to come up with a unique way to surprise Kaia with the trip!!!!
