We would love to become DVC members but we just can't afford it right now. We are still trying to relocate to FL so it will have to wait.

| Caught up again Amy. DH and I took DD and youngest DGrdS to WDW in June and we stayed in a one bedroom at SS. I will not go back to studio if I can help it! It is our home resort and we love it. Keep the report coming!

| September 11, 2007 Day 2 part 3 So with us settled in the room we drove over to EPCOT I was solo Excited! It was our first park and our favorite (yes even more so then the Magic Kingdom) I know! So we of course had to decide who was driving…I lost so again I drove… But it was ok it wasn’t raining so I didn’t mind losing It was a quick drive over to EPCOT way shorter then a bus would take but we did see that buses did run often and smoothly from SSR later in the trip but shhh that is later this is now! We of course had the top down and so Mom held the parking pass and the Handicap Placard in her hand. So we held up each one as we stopped at the parking attendants. They kept waving us on and finally we found the handicap parking its pretty easy just follow the blue lines in the parking lots! Our space wasn’t too far away but it was close to a shaded pathway that lead to a pretty quiet and clean restroom that was a real treat. So a quick pit stop and then on to Security. We both went through but decided that on future visits to EPCOT that we would split up. One with all the bags will go through the bag line, while the other will go through the no bag line, and get through the ticket lines so that getting our ECV’s set up wouldn’t take so long! It didn’t take as long as we figured but the whole walk all the way past some gates, under the monorail, around through the mass of people to get in was a little much! Might have saved on lines if they did half on each side or something but needless to say we made it through without incident! (ps. I’m not complaining that they do bag checks, I’m all for safety I just wish it didn’t take so long) Once through security we headed into the park using our brand new flashy 7 day park hoppers or MYW with Park hopping whichever you call them it does the same LOL. It was odd to be going into a park and not have an AP but really we wouldn’t be able to use them enough this year to justify the cost. Plus there may be a good reason to wait! In through the gates and to the left we headed over to rent our 2 scooters for the day. I went over and did the swiping of the room charge and when they saw my pre-made signs with carbineer hooks the CM’s went wild for them oohing and ahhing and wowing about all the “hard” work I did If they only knew how easy it was really. But I didn’t mind the flattering Well as soon as they were done with the flattery and boosting my ego until my head wouldn’t fit through a door we headed over to pick out our scooters. Now I will say that the last time we were at WDW was in December and for those who don’t remember or missed what happened at the Candlelight Processional here is a reminder… Amy goes down hill in America’s Theater stops…Turns tells mom “stop there it’s a steep hill” …Mom says “ok” ….BAMMMM! Her breaks don’t work…Amy spends next 9 months nursing whiplash and a bad back ! So we had said then they needed to upgrade the ECVs as the ones they had were looking pretty worn down and ragged. Well imagine our surprise when we saw that they must have read our minds because the ECV’s were ALL BRAND NEW!!!!! Yay! Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo but I can try and describe them… They are gray and they use a key that looks like a house key almost and you turn and go but first you have to hit the button on the top to go forward or reverse. They are a bit higher profile and not as wide it seemed to me but the seat still turns so that if you have to pull into a theater and can’t get it to point forward you and point it sideways and turn the chair to face that direction. great feature! The Baskets on the front hang down more and aren’t as strong as previous models had but it held a lot and didn’t seem to have any issue. It was great to see this new ECV but the CM’s did say that each park only has about 150 scooters each. I don’t know if that’s more, less or the same as before but it was interesting to know! Once we had our ECV’s we loaded into them and headed up the hill to Guest Services for 3 reasons. The first was to get mom’s Guest Assistance Card (GAC) renewed as they are only good for 1 visit and then each visit after you bring the old one and they change the date for you. The Second was to get mom a “Happy Anniversary” Button as today is her Anniversary. Now I know what your thinking that her husband isn’t there but after her 25th Anniversary in 2001 she has a hard time celebrating especially as her 2nd half isn’t her better half. But it is still her Anniversary so I wanted her to have a special Day. They gave her an extra to bring back home for her husband so he didn’t lose out completely. (don’t feel too bad for him, she called to wish him happy anniversary and all she got was a “oh ok, bye” and hung up on Once done at Guest Relations we loaded back up and headed towards the Land we wanted to do Soarin and have lunch and see a few attractions there. So we made our way over passing through a crowd watching some performers doing a trash can/drum routine. It was pretty cool! We would have stayed but it was by now closing in on NOON and we hadn’t eaten all day we were STARVING! So we parked our ECV’s right inside the door against the railing and decided to walk around the pavilion since it was always packed in there. Well we made a quick pit stop (yes this is a trend instead of the Tour De France this is the Tour du Toilet …besides what report wouldn’t be complete without some bathroom humor ) and we were going to take the elevator downstairs. Well we pushed the button and waited …and waited…and waited. Then all of a sudden the people in the elevator start banging, screaming and ringing the bell. It was STUCK between floors and so I ran over to the Garden Grill and got a manager who called someone I’m sure. So down the stairs we went as the walk over to the Escalator down was on the other side and we didn’t feel like walking over there. So down the stairs we went and over to Sunshine Seasons. We both ordered separately and mom went and found a table after getting hers. I followed behind about 10 minutes after trying to decide what I wanted and dealing with some really Mean Parents. So with our table secured and 2 Counter Service Credits redeemed the mountain of food that we had started a week long phrase of “I’m too full to do/go/ride/see _____” We had 1 Asian Combo meal with the 2 sides, and 2 entrées and 1 chicken Caesar salad. 1 Carrot Cake, 1 Chocolate Cake. Coke for Mom and Sprite for Me. All this for $32 which Disney paid for The Chocolate and Carrot cakes were absolutely delicious and I could sooo go for them right now but alas I can’t so on with the report ( I know your thrilled ) The one thing we saw that in December we couldn’t find a seat…this trip there was plenty! So even with free dining it wasn’t as bad as we thought it was going to be. But the one thing that this place had too much of was FLIES. I hate flies and especially around where I eat. So until they at least get the # of them to decrease I won’t be eating there again. While the food was good I just can’t deal with the flies, if we were outside I could say that is normal but for inside there has to be something they can do. So we cleaned our table and threw our things away and decided that Soarin was the 1st ride of the trip. So we whipped out the GAC and proceeded over to the Cast Member to find out where we should go. We have gone different ways with Soarin so we weren’t sure what the “rule of the day” was today. Today was down the fast pass line and it’s the longest queue I have seen before and we were sent down to get our pre-board safety information with Putty ..err I mean Patrick. We scored front row seats and it was great but the one thing I will mention is that if you’re a person of Size don’t sit in the last seat of the row. It was ok but a little tight on the hips. We had a great flight and were soon (way too soon) back in the concourse and looked around wondering what we wanted to do next. Living with the Land didn’t have fast pass running but we headed over and asked where we should go with our GAC and they let us go down the empty fast pass line and we were loaded about 5 minutes later. We had the row to ourselves and we were on our way. I took our first photos of the day here and we decided that we wish they hadn’t gotten rid of the song, or the personal guides. We liked the individuality of it and the catchy tune. But it was still nice to go on. Here are our Living with the land photos…. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After our ride with the land we decided that this ride was something to do when you needed to kill a few minutes with something inside and just smooth going. It wasn’t something that was on our Must Do list. It was nice just wasn’t as exciting as other things in the park! UP Next… Is the Living Seas now named Test Track???
