| Funny Crush Story to share... "Your a girl" reminded me of our last trip. We took our Best Friends and their darling 5yr old. She was so excited to see Crush, that when she got called. She asked Chrush what he like to eat. Then he asked what she like to eat mac& cheese and ..... Wait for it..... Fish. Crush got very quiet and moved to the other side of the tank near the mike and said ... "UH Security!!" Every adult lost it.... She never understood. But what a memory.

As a mom, I hope my DD will still go to WDW with me when she is 25 and have the zest for it that you do! Keep it coming....I leave in a few days....will your trip report be finished, or will I have to wonder the whole time I'm at WDW??

| Updated 10/09 September 11, 2007 Day 2 part 5 So once we finished the movie in China we headed towards the United States Pavilion and along the way finally remembered to snap some photos of the place and here I was getting upset at mom for only taking 3 photos! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I was getting hungry and knew that dinner was soon but needed something. I had gotten myself all fixed for a Funnel cake so I drove over and was going to get one but they didn’t accept cards of any kind??? Cash only??? so no funnel cake and I was not in the mood for popcorn. So I went in and bought just a hotdog and fries meal and ate just the hot dog. I was NEVER going to make Dinner. I was feeling really light headed. Mom had gone into the American Pavilion so I went inside after finishing my food and found her talking to a Cast Member who was waiting for me before loading us into the elevator to go upstairs. We squashed ourselves into the elevator and chatted with the CM about our stay so far and how much fun we were having. When we got off of the elevator she brought us over and told us to wait while she cleared a bench and a couple of chairs and said “here are your seats for the Voices of Liberty show, my first family!” I looked at her confused and she giggled and explained that we were chosen to be that show’s “first family” and that we would get a certificate to remember it by and our name would be mentioned inside the theater oh goody! Glad I didn’t skip work for this But I was sooooo excited! A dream albeit a small one but still a dream! The Voices of Liberty were wonderful once again and did an amazing job. I would love to spend more time listening to them but they were over all to soon! We were brought into the theater and we parked in the last row luckily we were able to park half way as there were a few others ahead of us already. We turned our seats and got out the Kleenex. Yes I will own up to the fact that I cry EVERY time I see this show. Everyone was brought in and seated and then the Cast Member introduced the show, then us and we had to wave. People clapped and waved and it was AWESOME! Hee hee! My mom videotaped our “big dream” to remember it by later then the show started so she put the camera away. We did cry and then half way through turned to each other and said “what a great way to remember such a tragic day” as we realized as they showed the Twin towers after 9/11 what day it actually was. Mom seemed quite happy that she was able to have sort of a remembrance of the day in her Happy place. A photo of the certificate we received… ![]() After the show was over we headed out of the pavillion, they must have had a private showing lined up as there was a ton of people at the exit of the show sitting on the ramp so getting out was quite difficult. We still had a ton of time before dinner so we headed through France, the UK and over to Canada. We wanted to see the new Canada Pavilion Movie with Martin Short in it. We made our way past Le Cellier, and over the bridge to the theater entrance. It wasn’t packed but it was busier then we used to see it. It was just about to start so we didn’t wait long. We parked in the back of the theater and had a great view of everything. It was a great movie, I think they did a great job with it and they kept that wonderful song in the movie but it was redone. I will say that the trivia questions before the show goes in that the CM’s do are the same every show but still neat to hear the answers. A great job and we will do it again for sure. A great place to kill a few minutes! We decided to head towards the UK. Mom went to the restroom I stopped and listened to Off Kilter for about 2 minutes when I started to feel sprinkles no not rain please no! Sadly…yep Rain! So Mom and I parked inside the cover of the restroom and waited the heaviest part out. Then poncho’ed up and headed over to France for dinner. We checked in at 6:20 for our ADR and waited about 5 minutes. It was very busy they were turning people away in droves who didn’t have ADRs ANYWHERE and were just “winging” it as one father said. We were called into our table in our properly French pronounced name and greeted by the head waiter. Our table was near the windows that look out over the lagoon but just one row back which was perfect. Our server was Manuel and he was such a gentleman. He was very nice to not rush us along knowing we were trying to wait out the rain which had started up again. I will say that we were looking forward to this meal after having such a great one in December but alas, it wasn’t to be. Mom had the Shrimp and Scallops meal for her entrée, the French onion soup for her appetizer, and the Apple Crepe for her dessert. A seltzer to drink. I had the French onion soup for my appetizer, the Pork Chop with the Macaroni Gratin, and the fresh sorbet for dessert. A Sprite to drink. Now Mom loved her entrée and her soup said both were out of this world. I will agree the soup was the best I have ever had and will miss it for sure. But where I had trouble was with my Pork chop and the macaroni au gratin. The Pork chop was dry and tough, there was no moisture whatsoever. The Macaroni was good but very blan. I was very disappointed in the meal and don’t see a need to go back any time soon. There was no steak on the menu from what I can remember and well seems they have taken the menu and dumbed it down. I rather 2 trips to Le Cellier over Chefs de France anymore. For $80 we had a pretty half and half meal. Half great and the other half poor. It gets mixed reviews from us but it wasn’t the worst meal we had this trip (wait for it) so I would say we would go back if nothing else was available that we haven’t tried yet but it will not be on the rotation for a while. French Onion Soup ![]() Mom’s Shrimp and Scallops (she took this photo) ![]() My Pork Chop and Macaroni ala dry ![]() After our entrees we were hoping for a better dessert but I loved my Sorbet and mom said her Apple Crepe just seemed to be flat and mushy to her. I don’t think it was meant to be tonight for dinner. The rain finally let up and so we headed out whipped out the towels we brought and wiped down the scooters. We loaded up into them and headed towards the exit. We decided that even though there was heat lightening it was safe enough to stay and watch Illuminations so we parked in the Handicap Viewing area right in the UK and found two spaces by the railings for us to sit at and watch the show. We talked to a nice couple who were on vacation with her 90 year old mother (she was in her late 60’s) who were staying at Shades of Green and were having a great time. We talked about our trip, our cruise (both one we took, and the future one) and our hometowns. It was so nice to find nice people to talk to! The show started right on time and we had a great view but the trees did block some of the higher fireworks but it was so nice to be in our Happy Place watching Illuminations and know that we still had a whole week to go! By the time the show started the skies were perfectly clear and no more lightening from Mother Nature only artificial ones by Disney! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After the show ended we made our way through World Showcase and out towards the front even though there were lots of people this didn’t seem crowded or even as bad as December was! We definitely saw that crowds were down! We did get one last shot before leaving the park which I was amazed as we never seem to time it right with the fountains, the evening lights, and crowds! Spaceship Earth colored at night with the fountains going and NO PEOPLE! It was great! ![]() ![]() When we got to the front we returned our scooters, got our deposit back, and walked out to the car. One last pit stop in case of traffic and we were off. While Mom drove she lost the Rock Paper Scissors this time I checked for messages on my phone. There was one from Owner’s Locker telling me that our locker was at the bell desk waiting for us. So rather then have to wait for them to deliver it we stopped on the way into the resort and picked it up from them. We were doing this for the first time and it went very smoothly. I will talk more about it later in the trip. We drove back to our villa and parked the car and headed up to our room. It was a great location and felt secluded but yet close to the elevator so we weren’t too worn out to walk to our room! I logged onto the internet once in the room just to check on things at home, and catch up on my TR notes and such and then went to bed I was worn out! Today was a good day and here is my wrap up for Day 2! The weather today was…90’s and sunny during the day rain in the evening but cleared up The Best thing today was…Checking into our Villa and falling in with it! The Worst thing today was…The Rain and the flies at Sunshine Seasons The Most Magical today was… Being First Family at the American Pavillion on Sept 11 Up Next…This is a habit we will form this trip… Day 3 part 1
