Friday October 26 2008

The wake up call rang at 6:30 AM and I slept about 25 minutes pass that time and then I was up and getting ready…b/c if I couldn’t have Kona Café today…I was at least going to have some form of breakfast.

Kaia was a little harder to wake up this morning but she finally came around and her and Mallory got ready pretty quickly.

Ben as usual did not get up until we were all ready to head to the food court…we headed to the food court and he stayed behind to change and get ready for the day.



Mallory and Kaia both ordered Cinnamon rolls with there snack points and I had a waffle that I paid for OOP. Kaia of course wanted frozen coke for breakfast and since the machine was finally working…who was I to deny her this. Mallory tried the hot chocolate and I had apple juice.





Ben showed up soon after and had eggs bacon and a waffle. …and he used a snack credit to get an espresso.

It was nice to have breakfast together we all relaxed and ate with no rush because I woke everyone up earlier than usual.

Soon we washed all of our mugs out and headed to the bus area to catch a ride to AK.

We arrived at the Animal Kingdom about 25 minutes before opening and Kaia was excited because she got to interact with Wes Palm, the roving talking palm tree …she loved this so much! All day long wanted to go and find him.



As we entered the park for the official opening with the characters…we experienced our second Bad CM experience…

A CM came up behind me, Mallory and Ben and started making animal noises right in our ears…well I smelled strong alcohol on his breath right away …thinking I was the only one I kept quiet but as soon as I left Mallory and Ben turned to me and said they smelled the same thing. I know this is not earth shattering but it made us feel a little weird that this man was growling in our ears reeking of alcohol.







Anyway after that encounter we headed toward Asia to ride Expedition Everest



Mallory went ahead and got FP’s b/c we were thinking of switching off with Kaia…but much to all of our surprises Kaia wanted to ride…I was a little worried about this one but Kaia insisted…



We walked right on and Kaia decided she wanted to sit with Mallory…at the beginning of the ride she was fine but as we started to go backwards I could hear Mallory telling Kaia everything was going to be OK and Kaia screaming “No it wont!”

As we disembarked Kaia was fine and explained to me that she just hated the backwards part…We looked at the picture of us on the ride and it was priceless so we bought it. I will have to scan it in later…

I asked Kaia if she wanted to ride again b/c the line was only 10 minutes and she said No…so Ben stayed with her in the store and Mallory and I boarded for another ride…I love this attraction.

We exited and Kaia was excited to show me her new pin for riding EE…it was cute pin with the Yeti on it.

As we were exiting Kaia decided that she wanted to EE give it one more try but this time she wanted to ride with me…so we all headed back in lines which posted a 20 minute wait but was only really 10...

As we boarded EE I gave Kaia some good advice for thrill rides…the more you scram the less scary it seems…so we screamed the whole ride…and this time when she got of the ride…she loved it!





It was now time to head to Dinoland for Primeval Whirl one of my favorite rides…Mallory had never rode this so she was really excited to try it this trip. We rushed over and there was a 10 minute wait posted…Awesome!….

But Bad new Kaia was an inch to short to ride it…she pleaded with the lady telling her she just rode EE…that did not help…

So I let Mallory and Ben ride while I took Kaia ride Triceratop Spin…I have to say after just riding EE this was a little to mild for her so it was off to the Midway games…







She first played Dino-Whamma where she had to knock dinosaurs with a mallet as the popped up and then we moved on to Fossil Fueler, a water-squirt game themed to a prehistoric gas station we both played this but where beat buy a man across the way…

Next we headed over to the dinosaur race game and Ben and Mallory joined us for the game…it was like skee ball and as you got points your dinosaur moved …well we all were very focused…every place was filled so the prize was a big stuffed dinosaur…and much to all of our surprises…Mallory kicked tail and won !!!! Kaia was more than a little jealous!

kaia's just doing all the thrill rides!! EE is another one i won't touch with a 10 foot pole (though i do kinda want to ride it sometime, everytime i see it i get freaked out by the drop!). sorry she didn't get to ride primeval whirl!! maybe next time!

Boy girl you have been busy! I've been out of town for 2 days and you posted about 4 updates!

First off I love all your pictures both girls are so cute and I can tell that they(especially Mallory) just love hamming it up for the camera! Kaia would fit in with my family, I love EE except for the going backward part and Alyssa is completely convinced that screaming during the whole ride makes it not so scary and you don't get the tummy drop feeling on hills if you are screaming either . Hurry back with more!

After Mallory won her stuffed Dinosaur we were all hungry for lunch so we decided to head out of AK for the day to grab some lunch at DTD before returning to the POP to rest before MNSSHP.









At DTD we made our way to the Earl of Sandwich which is Mallory’s favorite restaurant…to say the line here was insane would be an understatement. …not to mention the lack of places to sit. I put Mallory and Ben in line with Kaia and my order… and Kaia and I went scope out a place to sit…about 10 minutes after stalking this family we got a nice spacious booth right inside.

This has to be the most popular place in all of WDW!!

Ben had trouble checking out b/c he didn’t realize on the DDP at earl of Sandwich you could either get a chip or a desert…so he ended up paying the meal with our QS credits and the deserts with our snack credits.

Finally after about 25 minutes of waiting in line and checking out we all had our food.

I am not sure what everyone else ordered but I had The Caprese - sliced fresh mozzarella, roma tomatos, fresh basil and drizzled virgin olive oil and it was awesome…worth the wait…and for dessert I had a brownie Kaia had a pizza sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie.

After lunch we were all tired but Mallory wanted to go look in a couple of shops …I convinced her to narrow it down to one b/c I didn’t have the strength to fight Kaia’s shop-a-holicness at that point. We went into the scrapbook store…where Kaia begged me to buy her a diary…I told her that I wanted her to think over night about to see if she really wanted it before I bought it for her (that’s my trick…unfortunately this child never forgets).

We caught the bus back to the POP and that’s where I got a call from my brother that’s his family had arrived and were on there way to MGM…this was supposed to be another secret for Kaia that she was going to be able to see her 4 year old cousin Max who she doesn’t get to see often…but my big mouth hand excitement on the phone whilst on the bus kind of blew the cover.

After that phone call Kaia kept saying “Is Max here?”
And I would just respond “What do you think?” this went on for about 5 minutes until we arrived at the POP and she refused to take a nap even though I knew it would cost her later at MNSSHP…not to mention me..

Instead of a nap I agreed to take her swimming…it was nice and warm and we had a nice swim…while Mallory and Ben sipped there pool drinks …a mojito for Ben and virgin strawberry daiquiri for Mal.









I was really proud of Kaia's improvements in her swimming since our family beach trip this summer. While she played around a little more in the pool I dried off and had a Mango Margarita (yummo!)





I pulled Kaia out of the pool and we all headed back to the room for at least a little quiet time.

I got a call from my brother ... we were supposed to meet at there resort (WL) at 5:30 PM to go to MNSSHP together…but he was going to let Max sleep for a little longer and meet us at the MK latter on.

Kaia got ready first putting on her Jasmine costume. I was second in my pirate costume…then Mallory put the finishing touches on her football costume…Ben of course was last rolling out of bed and putting his pirate costume but we were all dressed and ready to go by 4:45 PM.

I decided to surprise Ben at this time with his anniversary present which was tickets to Sundays night MNSSHP (printed on paper…b/c the 1rst year anniversary is represented with paper)…he was really excited and so was Kaia!!!

I love the bus ride on the way to MNSSHP b/c of all the people in costume its really a lot of fun…if you have never experienced It I highly recommend it …its amazing to see the MK filled with people in costumes…some people are just so creative.





Our favorite on our bus that night was the mom, dad, and son dressed as chefs …they were cute!

We were super shocked that Kaia rode any of the thrill rides...and the fact that she loved them blew our minds.
I think you need to ride EE at least once just to say you did!
Kaia called me yesterday and asked if i thought she would grow an inch before our next trip so she can ride primeval whirl...i told her to start eating her Wheaties!

LOL! I have to say that Alyssa is right screaming is the only way to go!

As far as the pictures of the girls Mallory loves to have pictures taken of herself if you couldn't tell...i think she watches to much Americas Next Top Model!!! LOL!

EPCOT has always been my favorite park and I was glad to share it with Kaia and I was especially glad that she loved it there! The dinner in Norway was great its every little girl/ big girls dream come true to have dinner with the princesses!

Wonderful update...two times on EE I am impressed. Found it strange myself that they are tall enough for EE but not Primeval Wheel (which was what happened to us as well) but I was secretly happy...seeing my nephew come off the ride looking green made me realize that I would rather have DD feeling good then rubbing her head all day...lol

So you took the shop-o-holic to DTD....lol and she walked away with nothing...good job but I am sure she will be thinking over her what to purchase overnight.

The surprise for Ben was great...two nights at MNSSHP is fabulous and Kaia gets to enjoy the annviersary gift too... I am sure she was not complaining...

Can't wait till she sees her cousin and your first night of partying...

We arrived to MNSSHP to medium crowds…Ben and I had been to this party in the past and the crowds were always very light. The crowds were even bigger when we arrived b/c the park was till open to the general public when we showed up.



The first thing we did when we arrived was head over to Frontierland to ride my all time favorite WDW attraction Splash Mountain. The wait time was 30 minutes b/ct he park had not closed yet for the party…but we got in line anyway and waited only 15 minutes tops. Kaia was a little nervous about this one b/c of seeing the drop from the outside but I told her compared to EE this was a piece of cake…she was sold and boarded sitting with Ben.


Kaia Loved this ride!!! And of course the fact that she got to pick out a new pin for this ride didn’t hurt!

Next up was BTMR…this one was a hit with Kaia as well…Kaia and I sat together and laughed the entire ride.

We rode Splash Mountain once more before departing Frontierland…this time Kaia rode with me and for some reason Mallory and Ben got completely soaked!





We decided to take the train over to toontown and then walk to Space Mountain. We made it to space mountain and there was a 30 minute wait…this is Ben’s favorite ride so we decided to wait it out and it actually was a lot faster. I was nervous about Kaia on this ride b/c it was in the dark and she had to sit alone…but …

SHE LOVED IT!!!!

And of course we rode again.

After this it was getting late and the park was closed to the general public. The party was starting to get into full swing.

I got a call from my brother they were eating lunch at Cosmic Rays…so we walked over and met them which was a great reunion…Kaia even pretended to be surprised to see Max…but I ruined that surprise by not being able to keep my big mouth shut.

**at this time Mallory and Ben had a Joey Fatone sighting!

Max ran up to me and thanked me for his Pirate Mickey Pumpkin surprise I ordered him from the WDW florist…he is such a sweetheart.

After they ate dinner they asked me my advice on what we should do…

So I decided that we should try out the trick or treat character trail that starts in toontown…everyone agreed and we headed out.


The Whole gang except Lance

The crowds around the entrance from tommorowland into fantasyland were insane! I had never seen anything like it at MNSSHP…but it was the Friday night b/4 Halloween…

We walked into ToonTown and all decided to ride the barnstormer a first for the whole gang except Ben and I…this was Max’s first roller coaster and he loved it!!!!

Next the character trail..

The character rail was not crowded at all and we got to meet The Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit…as well as get loaded down with treats.









Next up we wanted to catch the first showing of the parade …but on our way we stopped in to ride Winnie the Pooh my Sister In Law (Anne), Max and Kaia hopped into a honey pot …while my brother Lance, Mallory, Ben and I followed behind…I love this ride. Of course my brother said it was like a psychedelic acid trip (not that he would know what that’s like??)

Next up was the Boo To You Parade…we arrived at the last minute so we were not expecting a great seat for the parade but a nice gentlemen let Kaia and Max sit next to his kids right in front…Ben, Mallory and I sat on a bench in the back and didn’t get to see much of the parade but that was OK b/c Kaia and Max had a great view and were super excited and we did get to see Captain Jack Sparrow!

Next up after we escaped the madness of the mass exodus from the parade…next up was Peter Pans Flight! Mallory rode with Max and Kaia. Anne and Lance got on behind them and then Ben and I (this was one of the only alone moment we had besides on the clam in the Nemo ride) so we gave each other a little smooch as we flew over London!

At this point it was time to separate for the night b/c my troops need to eat it was nearing 8:30 PM …

Lance went on the teacups with Mallory Kaia and Max before we spilt up for the night…the line was not to long about a 10 minute wait…

Ben went in search for a bathroom while Anne and I chatted waiting for Lance and the kids to finish there spin when it was finally there turn to be let in to pick out their tea cup...

we noticed a lady sneak her 2 children in through the exit and hurriedly get in a teacup!!! Anne and I could not believe this…we were in shock! Who would teach there kids such dis respectfulness and dishonesty?



Anyway it was really nice to talk to Anne but soon we had to part ways for the night so we all hugged and said our good byes.

The fireworks started soon after but we had our mind on food we made our way to Pecos Bills . Mallory and Kaia went scope out a table while Ben and I used the new automated ordering. …which we loved …it was really simple to use...I know Ben and I both had double cheeseburgers with apple sauce but thats all i can remember really we just hoarded our food in!

Soon we were all sitting down eating but we were also all very tired kind and worn out. Mallory was still wet from her first ride on Splash Mountain, Ben was having problem with his shingles,, and my feet hurt like you would not believe…this is when we should have called it a night….but did we …NO!!!!

We went back to Frontierland and rode BTMR and Splash Mountain (2X). Mallory, Ben and Kaia wanted to ride Splash Mountain third time . I opted out b/c my feet just couldn’t carry me anymore in line…I rested outside on a Bench while they rode. It was really peaceful…until I had to get up to walk to the front of the park…my feet were so soar I was almost going to beg Ben to get me a wheel chair just to get to the bus…but I made it!

We made it to the front and to the bus strop…We sat down on the ground to wait for the bus and Kaia fell asleep on me


…and then again on the bus. All the kids on the bus were sleeping it was very peaceful!

We arrived at the PoP at 12:45 PM and dragged ourselves to the room. Mallory took a shower but Kaia went to sleep right in her jasmine costume and Ben and I put on out PJ’s…we are all family here. We will just shower tomorrow!!!

I set a wake up call for 6:30 PM so we could get to AK opening tomorrow.

MHSSHP sounds like lots of fun, everyone looked great in their costumes. I'm glad you got to meet up with your family too!
