| first mommy/daughter "will never use a TA again" TRIP REPORT!!!!! DAY 2 - UPDATED 12/17 Well, we got in last night and had a BLAST but hit a snag the second we went to check in (read on!!!) Cast: me (melinda 28), DD (Scarlett 3) when: Dec. 10-14 Where: POP Why: because! DAY 1......... Early morning was 4 a.m. wake up and 7 a.m. flight. Got to MCO @ 9:10 and got right onto DME and left immediately. I can't tell you how efficient this was for us...... Got to POP at 9:45 a.m. and went to check in or atleast get our park tickets and hit the MK. Scarlett got her Disney Florist Princess in Training Trunk (dissapointment city). The woman at the front desk asked me if it was just myself and an infant and I said no she is 3. So she looked at me, looked at the manager, looked at her computer, looked panic stricken, then looked at me again and asked the same question again. So the manager Lora ran over and told me that my TA put Scarlett down as 2 years old and she therefore had no park ticket OR DDP rights. So I tried my best to keep the tears from flowing and asked what I needed to do to get to the parks and have her be able to eat. SO, I had to call my TA and let the manager talk to her and she was told to call the Disney wholesale dept. right away and send them the money I paid for Scarlett. So essentially she never paid Disney the money I gave her....... I asked Lora if she could atleast find us a room to hang out in while this got straightened out and we were put in the 50's section 4th floor. Very close to main bldg. VERY pleased with location. After 2 hours of sitting in the hotel room with no bags yet I called the front desk and asked to speak with any manager. Michael got on and he already knew the problem. I said Scarlett was getting hungry and was the issue fixed. He informed me that he has heard nothing from Wholesale but to come down and get something to eat and they will reemburse me. After eating a great lunch (food court is AWESOME) and going to get reembursed, I was told everything was settled and was given new keys and given my money back for food AND refill mugs (I was just going to pay for them) Michael gave us a ton of "priority entrance" passes to help make up for time lost in the MK. The hotel staff there is wonderful!!! We had to do Dumbo first then Aladdins carpet but it was down for the week. Quite a drag...... 1900 Park Fare dinner was good. The first thing I said to the waitress when we arrived was that Lady Tremane makes her VERY nervous and would prefer her to not be nasty or sarcastic when she comes to the table. Picture, sign book, and leave. So she told the character manager and we went on to eating dinner. The food was delish. Prince Charming was VERY handsome. Scarlett had her hand painted Cinderella dress on StudioE Princess Cinderella Set Custom Boutique - (eBay item 140075018697 end time Oct-30-07 19:01:27 PDT) and loved it. She had never worn it until that night and had been drooling at it hanging in her closet for days. Lady Tremane got to our table and said (seriously said this to a 3 year old princess girly girl) "What is that rag you are wearing? That is the ugliest dress I've ever seen. It would only be beautiful if it had my daughters on it. Did you lose a bet dear?" And that is the point Scarlett started to cry. I semi-politely said that she loves that dress and I would like her to leave our table. So she was a clam for the next 30 minutes. Scarlett did tell the step sisters what Lady Tremane said (she likes the girls. she thinks they are funny) and even Dresella appologized and said "Mother can be a bit harsh sometimes. She doesn't hurt feelings on purpose". She looked very suprised though when she told her. I think she was WAAAAAY out of line. I'll be writing a complaint letter soon. She was told to be nice or say nothing and she did neither...... So back to MK it was for extra night hours and Spectro magic. I HATE that parade with all of my being but my mom wanted pictures. This is where DisneyScarlett noticed us as she was walking past. So we talked to her for a few minutes. Left after the parade was over and got a good nights sleep. |

| Sounds like Pop did their best to take care of you. Don't write off all TAs, though, because there are good ones out there! Looking forward to more.

| Wow that is frightening . . . Which travel agency were you using? I would be mortified if this happened to me! I'm glad Disney helped fix it and understood that it wasn't your fault!

| I think I'd be having a few choice words with that TA. And I wouldn't have waited to say something to Lady Tremane-I would have talked to the manager right there and then. Sometimes it works, but I'm not a big fan of waiting and writing a letter. I always feel like it's read then tossed in the trash-you might receive an "oh we're so sorry" letter but that'll be it. Glad to hear Pop Century went above & beyond to help get it straightened out though. |
