Sounds like you had a great time at Pleasure Island! I had to laugh though because that sounds like something my DD would do (locking the deadbolt then telling me to use my room key!). Maybe giving up LeCellier was a good thing-with a slew of bad reports (and not just my own) lately I think they've gone downhill-and DEFINITELY too big for their britches! Hurry back with more!!

Animal Kingdom, our last night at MK...and our final day DTD I still could not believe we were at our last park day....now as you know I wanted one rope drop....just one..... No Rope Drop but real close...I think we got to AK by 9:05....pretty good for my bunch. This was the one park that I had never been too so this was an experience for all of us... Now my little one finally decided that all this walking had finally caught up to her (I must say I was really proud becuase she had walked the whole trip and never once complained) but seeing that her legs were hurting we decided to rent a stroller. We ended up renting a double, figuring we could use the other side for our bag (and this was a good idea but more on that later). It was really hot today but the crowds were not that bad and we took a nice, slow stroll over to our breakfast at Restaurantsourus. Now I am not a big breakfast person but when I do decide to eat it I want the works...this was a great meal. The kids found a bunch of stuff to eat, my oldest was in heaven with the fresh fruit... The character interaction was wonderful and I finally got some one on one time with my favorite character in the world...(can't you see my big smile) Attachment 19188 After a very filling breakfast we headed over to Tricopos Spin...we did this ride a few times as my sister as nephew did Primeval Whirl - my little one was upset since she was not tall enough but a few rides and she was back to her happy self. We played a couple of games as we waited...my nephew did not enjoy the ride very much and was not feeling so well...we stopped for awhile so he could have a drink and he started feeling better so we headed over to Dinosaur... My oldest took a seat in the shade...after the Splash Mountain episode there was no way I could convince her that she would enjoy this ride....so with her settled off we went. The queue moved fast and we were in the front row of our vehicle within a few minutes... I loved this ride....my nephew did not like the loud noise at which my little one proclaimed..."you should have just held your ears". SO I asked her what she thought of it...she liked it but it was a bit to dark she said...for the past two years she has stated she did not want to ride again but with the new trip approaching she thinks she wants to take another ride and take her sister along....(I am very close at convincing my oldest that she will enjoy this ride....but we will see). After our Dinosaur ride we journeyed through Aisa to the Rapids....there was a long line so we grabbed some fast passes and took the Jungle Trek....we enjoyed this and there was not much of a crowd as we walked through....the kids loved seeing the animals and we spent quite some time here... Once we got out we had about 20 minutes until our rapids ride...we headed over to Everest but alas no one wanted to ride with me....the single person line was not long and after a fast ride up the mountain it was time for our rapids ride... We walked through the queue....grabeed our raft and we were off. Now I knew there was a small drop which I chose not to include in my description to my oldest...I knew that she would have decided not to go and I also knew she would enjoy this ride... She did and we got soaked....I mean drenched. As we made our way off dripping along the way we chose to dry off some and head towards the Safari....this is what I had been looking forward too and after a trip of not many waits this was our first wait...not long, about 40 minutes but at least it was shaded as we waited in the queue and before we knew it we were off... Now just about the time we hit the savannah I saw these clouds coming over the horizon....now we had not had any rain the entire trip...not a drop so I figured we were lucky and if it rained then we would take it in stride... The approaching storm actually made the ride so much better as it was beautiful to see the colors changing over the savannah....the animals were all out and we got a few minutes to really enjoy as we had to wait for a truck in front of us who had truck problems... Here are a couple of pictures I took of the storm as it moved in... http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...1&d=1201321225 http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...1&d=1201321246 We made it off the ride just in time for the rain to come down in buckets....out came the trusty ponchos and we shoved the two little ones in the stroller...covered them with an additional poncho and headed off through the other jungle walk... It was pouring but it was great seeing the animals react to the rain....surprising the animals were out frolicing in the rain as it has been very hot... For a few minutes we took a break from the rain inside the insect area....along with a lot of other people and then we decided to brave it (it was getting very crowded) and finished the walk... As we stepped back outside in Africa the rain had gone....off came the ponchos and the sun was shinning brightly....(this was the only rain the entire trip....a total of 20 minutes) Off to the next thing I was excited about....The Festival of the Lion King Show. On the way I snapped this picture...this is just such an amazing sight to me....the handcarved work is just so detailed I am amazed... http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...1&d=1201321207 We made it to the show just as one had started...so we camped out for the next 45 minutes and had a snack of some cereal bars that we had... The wait went fast and the kids played with some other kids as we talked to their parents... Before we knew it the doors had opened and in we were... We sat in the third row...I do not remember the section but we were at the end of the row.....(perfect place for a monkey to come and dance with me)...this show was fabulous.....the Lion King was always one of my favorites and this show did not dissappoint. After the show we asked the kids if they were hungry....they weren't and they wanted to go do the dig site...here was the only part of the day where I had a meltdown and I do not remember really why... On the way to the dig site we stopped for a snack...first the machine was not working, then some woman cut in front of me...then they did not have the ice cream I wanted...I don't know but all of a sudden I was exhausted, the kids were acting up and I picked a really great week to quit smoking....(actually I was fine until that moment) We made it to the site and my sister said she would take them in for a little while so I found a bench and sat down...and waited, and waited....and waited.... I was ready to send the security guards to make sure they did not get lost in the sand when I did not see them for three, yes they left me sitting there for three hours... But it was ok...I was calm now, I spent about two of these hours watching a very pierced couple (now piercing are cool to a point but this couple scared me becuase everytime they kissed I thought they would get stuck together), dressed all in black (actually they were dressed in sweatshirts and pants and a dozen other layers - hey guys it is 90 degrees out here) show each other their affection in between telling me about thier farm....and thier car and how they met when they were 10....(actually I got last after the first 30 minutes) but they were nice and it passed the time. When they finally emerged I said good bye to my new found friends and I asked the kids what they wanted to do... They wanted to go back to MK...it was our last night so we hoped on over to the TTC and took the monorail over.... Everyone was hungry now so we went over to Pinnochio's Haus and had pizza and salads...it was good and filling as we had not really eaten since our breakfast at 9:40 and it was close to 7.... After we ate I looked at the two little ones, I looked at my sister and knew they had it.... My sister pulled me over to the side and said she was wiped out...would I mind if she headed back with her son and we met her there....I was fine with that but one look at my little one and I knew she was done....my sister gladfully took her back with them, she figured they would hit the aracde and then watch some movies.... I also told her maybe she should get to packing (my sister takes forever to pack) and this way we could get a early start tomorrow.... Once they left I looked at my oldest, she linked her arm with mine and off we went for a few hours of mommy / big daughter time....the crowds were not bad at all and since we had seen the fireworks twice already we really took advantage of hitting some rides in Fantasyland when they were going on... In the next few hours we had done so much...we did all her favorites.....Buzz like three times, Peter Pan twice, Snow White, IASW....and her ultimate favorite the Haunted Mansion.....(it was so great doing it at night). There were like no lines at all on certain rides (espeically during the fireworks) - we actually got to stay on Peter Pan and Snow White... After the Haunted Mansion we roamed threw the stores and hit the candy store on Main Street... Just as we were about to leave I turned to take one more look at the Castle....one that I had waited so long to share with my kids and finally had the chance to do... Yes, I shed another tear but it was a happy one....and sad at the same time becuase as much as I knew that I wanted to do this again I was not sure if or when we would be able to again... We made our way to the bus and suddenly felt guilty that I did not have this one on one time with my little one....but a smile came over my face as I had an idea... Our Last Day... I packed the night before....so I set the alarm for 6 am....and leaned over to my little one and said "who wants to go swimming?" She was up out dressed in a matter of minutes and together with the birds we walked alone in peace and quiet to the pool... We spent a good hour alone (except for two older woman who showed up about ahlf way through our visit for an early swim and they also sat with me and watched as my little one froliced in the pool all too herself)... When she was done we walked hand in hand to the food court and had breakfast and when we were finished we got some for everyone else... On the way back I was really happy that I had a little time with each of my girls...just "us" time....it made it so special as I got to listen to the little one tell em all about her favorite parts and what she wanted to do the next time... We made it back to find my sister still sleeping, my oldest was up watching TV and she sat and ate breakfast....my sister finally arose and I told her that I had someone coming to pick up our bags... Ok...I should have known that she did not even start packing and by the time the bellhop came to pick up our bags she was not even half way done...to make it easier I told her I would take the kids to the main building with my luggage (I wanted to check it in since our flight was not until 8 pm) and would meet her up there... The kids played at the arcade and ran around outside....about two hours later my sister made an appearance, just in time to catch a boat over to DTD....she checked her bags in and we were off for our shopping spree.. Now none of us had done any shopping...except for some small art kits (that we bought the night we were going to Pleasure Island) and a bag of Mickey Pasta I bought my dad we had not bought anything... At the dock we went our seperate ways...she wanted to some boy stuff with my nephew and the girls wanted to hit the Disney Store... We also said our good byes in case we missed each other....(my DME was an hour earlier then hers)....after hugs and kisses we went off. First stop was the Lego Store....we stayed there awhile as the little one wanted to play in the park. Then we stopped to get her face painted....all green and pink like Tinkerbell - her favorite character. After getting some snacks (with our left over snack points) we headed to the Disney Store to make a crown and a wand....it was here that my oldest decided she wanted to start a Minnie collection....she found a cheerleader one and bought that as her sister made her princess stuff... We then went over to the $10 and under store where my daughter found some more Minnie's - her excuse (Mom it is $10 and under) - ok that is true but when you buy like 10 Minnie's that adds up....lol (however, she had not spent any money this trip so I let her have her fun. Here I picked up a little something for my neice and a Goofy for my friend (I really wanted Goofy - who is his favorite character - in a gradualtion cap but they did not have one so I got what they had). After a trip to the Toy Store (and some more purchases) we fianlly made it to the scrapbooking store....I really wanted to get a scrapbook so I got one and so did my oldest and we got some cool stuff to go with it.... Our bags were getting heavy so we headed back to the boat....we got back and decided to grab some pizza, afterwards we grabbed our luggage and decided to just relax until our DME pick-up.... We still had about an 1 1/2 but we were tired and it felt nice just to sit on a bench (and it also gave me time to pack away all our goodies)... While I packed my daughter made some friends....we were all laughing and so was everyone who was out there becuase her friends would follow her whereever she walked...this went on for about 20 minutes... http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...1&d=1201324843 I ran back into the store...I collect Disney Snowglobes and did not really have a chance to look for one while we were at DTD.....after strolling through the shop I found a really cute Lilo and Stitch one that played an Elivs song....I grabbed that and also picked up a little something for each girl that I would give them on the plane... For the little one I found her a little nameplate with a charm and for the oldest I got her a sterling silver charm bracelet with a starter charm - Tinkerbell, figured it would give her an idea for soemthing for her to collect our next trip whenever that was... As I made my way out of the store I found my kids playing with my nephew and sister...they had just made it back and it was nice to have a few last moments together (as I knew it would be about a month or so since I got to see her again). Before we knew it our DME was there...another round of hugs and we were off and I felt sad... I was not ready for it to end...and it upset me becuase I realized that the longer I stayed at my job - the longer we would not get back to Disney (that was one of the things that actually prompted me to get over my fear and get a new job).... A few hours later we were landing back in New York...the kids talked my parents ears off as we headed home... They fell asleep fast.....I sat down and started to unpack and I felt this strange calmness... This was an amazing trip....it was great to spend time with my sister and nephew, I got to finally live out a dream with my children - I got to acutally take my kids on a real vacation for the first time in their lives - and best fo all we got to live these dreams at Disney. I think I started dreaming of a new trip like that night...but it was not to be...until now.... Thank you all for sharing in my trip down memory lane and I can't wait to share our upcoming trip with you soon... 5 months to go...and we are going back to Disney!!!

Just like Nala said to me, if you're going to tell a story like that you'd better have a kleenex warning! It especially doesn't help since I just watched Wishes on youtube and am already sniffling & wiping my eyes!!! I loved your walk down memory lane.......can't wait to hear all about your future trip.....and the others beyond!

This was a touching trip report and had me teary eyed through most of it. It's a statement that your kids can truly bring you happiness just by being happy.

| Your story about Space Mtn. is so funny because I had the exact same experience! The last time I rode SM in 2000 I swear the cars were two people to a seat, one sitting in front of the other. In Feb 2007 I convinced my 6 yo DS to ride it and then was terrified when I realized he would have to sit in a car all by himself. I was behind him and did the same thing, tried to touch his shoulder or head or whatever I could reach. My DH was in front of him and kept trying to turn around to make sure he was OK. It was terrifying! ![]()
