| Great pictures of Chef Mickey's. It looks like your family really enjoyed themselves. We, too, loved Chef Mickey's and thought the character interaction and the whole napkin twirling episode awesome. It was my daughter's first character meal and so worth the cost.

| Finally all caught up, thanks for an enjoyable lunch hour!! Your Carriage ride, AP dinner, Sea World and Chef Mickey's experiences were all great! We've never done the ride in FW but DH's sister and her family used to stay there and they gave us a ride through on their golf cart a few years back around Thanksgiving time. You are correct, the decorations are amazing! So glad you had a great time at Chef Mickey's. I love that place and having newbys with you and kids to boot just enhances the experience. Can't wait for more! |

| Monday 17 December – part seven: showing off the Disney resorts When we were done, we had seen most of the characters twice and we left very happy and very full. Our plan was to take Mark’s family back to our room to watch the fireworks, but that was a couple of hours off, so we decided that we needed to find some way to kill the time. We suggested visiting some of the other resorts and that idea went down great. As we were on the monorail line, we had to go to the Grand Floridian to show them the Christmas decorations. The only problem we had getting there was that the monorail was really busy. Magic Kingdom was on evening Extra Magic Hours and, my goodness, there were a lot of people heading there. It was mad! Finally we made it there and, as with everyone who sees the decorations at the Grand Floridian for the first time, their jaws dropped to the floor. It really is a stunning sight at Christmas. From there, we caught the monorail back to the Contemporary. I was hoping, at some point in our journey that we could secure the front cab for the kids, but it wasn’t to be, not with the crowds tonight. : When we got back to the Contemporary, we picked up the vehicles and drove over to the Wilderness Lodge to show them that resort. I think they fell in love with this resort (although there would be others that we would show them during this vacation). They seemed to be really taken with it and asked lots of questions. I think they can certainly now see why we love the theming of Disney resorts so much. Then it was back to ours to wait for Illuminations. We got back with about 10 minutes to spare and the kids were very patient waiting for it to start, considering how late it was and the fact that they were still recovering from jet lag. They weren’t disappointed when Illuminations got underway. OK, so there’s quite a gap in the middle when there are no huge fireworks, but the finale is stunning and all visible from our room. As soon as the fireworks were done, we walked them back to the lobby, so they could pick up their car, and said goodbye to them. It had been a really fun family evening. Today we walked 4.92 miles. The weather today was cold with highs in the 50’s and a strong wind. The best thing today was Chef Mickey’s. The worst thing today was how cold it was. The funniest thing today was the kids with the characters. Today we tried taking Mark’s family to a character meal And the result was it was a huge success. The most magical moment today was when the kids first saw the characters. Next: enjoying a Yuletide Fantasy
