| Wednesday 19 December – part seven: this has meat in it?! We gave up with drying the rest of the washing and headed off to the Contemporary, where we were meeting Rob, Keith, Bruce and Marta for dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse. Now, the last time we ate here was a couple of years ago and it was probably one of our worst meals ever at Disney. Before that, it had been a great place to eat and I’m pleased to report that it is once again. For appetiser, I had the pan-seared scallops. They were meant to be made with honey-vinaigrette dressing, but I had mine without the sauce, as that had meat it in. That as my only criticism about this place, there were quite a few items on the menu that didn’t seem to have meat in them, but apparently they did, as our server kept telling me that I couldn’t have this or that. That was a bit annoying. Mark had the honey sesame chicken wings, which he described as a main course in itself. As far as main course goes, I had the pan-seared salmon on arugula and spinach salad and that was by far the best salmon I’ve had so far this trip. It was awesome. Mark had the 14 oz Chipotle glazed Rib Eye steak. That finished him off the night, but I still had room for dessert and had the chocolate cake. I realised that it didn’t come with any sauce, so I asked for a side of ice cream and I’m glad I did, as it would’ve been dry without it. This was a great meal, but I didn’t rate the service that much. It was OK, but nothing special. In total, our bill, including tip, came to $75 for the two of us. Concourse Steakhouse: Appetiser 8½ 10 Main course 9½ 9 Dessert 8½ N/A Service 7 8 Atmosphere 8½ 9 Value for money 9½ 10 Average score: 8.86 We left just after 9.00, as we realised that Wishes would be starting, so we headed outside on to the balcony on the fourth floor of the Contemporary to watch it. It’s a neat view from there. We said our goodbyes and headed back to the Beach Club, catching a bit of Illuminations on the way, as we drove home. Once in, we put the washing in to try and fortunately this time, after 30 minutes or so, it was done and we were off to bed. Today we walked 8.96 miles. The weather today was sunny and hot with temperatures in the 70’s. The best thing today was Saving a Species tour. The worst thing today was Oliver’s face when we said goodbye to the family. Today we tried the Saving a Species tour And the result was I would recommend it to everyone, as it was superb. The most magical moment today was feeding the giraffe. Next: the story behind Dinoland

| Great updates, Cheryl! Little Oliver did look kind of pitiful standing there, didn't he? He must be very attached to you and Mark. ![]()

| Poor Oliver. But those photos of him watching you leave are so sweet. Glad you enjoyed your meal at Concourse. I'm not a big steak eater, but after your review (and the photo of Mark's chicken wings), I'm thinking I should try to squeeze in an ADR before they close.

| I normally don't like to leave the Disney bubble, but after reading about your days at Sea World and Busch Gardens I may have to pop the bubble and venture over there. And how cute is Oliver! Your meal at Concourse looked yummy, too bad I probably won't make it there.

| Sorry your scallops had meat in the sauce (now why would they do that???) - the rest of the meal looked great. I have not been to Concourse.... hmmm wonder if I need to make a trip before they close?
