Welcome home. I love all the pictures of Discovery Cove. It looks like you guys had a great time that day. I've always wondered what it looked like inside there.

I just your pictures of the dolphin swim! How cool! I don't remember if you already said, but how much is admission to Discovery Cove? I just showed your pictures to my DS10 and he seems very interested!

I also love your new signature picture! You and Mark look great, and Minnie's dress is divine!

I had to have a quick look at the Discovery Cove website, as I couldn't remember how much we paid - it varies between $269 and $289 for the dolphin swim, depending on the time of year you visit. We felt it was worth every penny of that.

Thanks for the information! Our next trip is still almost a year away, but we're starting to make plans already! I showed your pictures to my DS12 as soon as he got home, and he really wants to go. (For a long time, he had thoughts of a future career in marine biology!)

Thanks, as always, for sharing your wonderful experiences. I get so many good ideas from you!!

Sunday 16 December – part three: exploring the rest of Discovery Cove

It was still pretty cold, so we headed off for lunch. Before I did, I went and changed out of my swimwear. I just wanted to warm up and it was the right decision for me, as I felt a lot better after showering and changing.

When I got to the buffet, it was difficult to choose, but I ended up going for the lobster salad, while Mark had Cajun chicken and a Caesar salad. The food was superb quality, I really couldn’t fault it. I even managed to put away some strawberries and a piece of cake as well.

After lunch, I wasn’t the only one who was cold, with Mark and Dave both deciding to follow my lead and change out of their wetsuits.

Typically, it warmed up later, but we just sat around and watched the kids and Anne and Sean playing in the resort pool and the stingray lagoon for a couple of hours. Weather wise, it turned into probably the nicest day so far, with bright sunshine and a nice breeze with no humidity. Just how we like it.

After some time sitting down, we went to explore the aviary, which you can either see on foot or swim through on the lazy river. This was a wonderful place and I couldn’t believe how tame the birds in here were. At one point, I looked down and there was one right by my foot. You could even feed them, although we opted not to.

Mark’s photos:

My photos:

Once we were done in there, we decided that we would head off, leaving Mark’s family to continue enjoying Discovery Cove.

Next: how much money are people spending on this?!
