| Larry! You and Bob make me proud! You spent the day exactly as I would have. Sounds like it was a wonderful day. And dinner at R&C and Illuminations sounds wonderful, too. Can't wait to hear about that.

| We love the Norway bakery - one of the things we miss! The Rice Cream is surprisingly yummy and the pastries - oh my goodness!

Yes, we make these up just to amuse ourselves, though many of them are actually Bob's, such as the "Tomorrowland Toilet Authority".

| Tuesday, April 8, 2008 -- Another Evening at Epcot, Part 3 When we got back to the room, I dealt with an incipient blister and also with getting connected to the Disney broadband. [Note to self: use Internet Explorer to activate the connection and then use Firefox! For some reason the transaction does not always work if I use Firefox.] Anyway, we relaxed for a bit and then showered and dressed for a relaxed meal at the Rose & Crown. We walked to Epcot, noticing the wild rabbits that always seem to be around. It's a lovely evening. We presented ourselves at the podium and did not have to wait very long to be seated under the overhang on the side. It is a bit breezy, so the roll-down side is not a real problem. Rose & Crown in the United Kingdom at Epcot -- April 8, 2008 Server: Rachael First Course {B} Potato and Leek Soup Harp Lager {L} Roasted Mushrooms - cooked with Cream and Garlic, served in a Puff Pastry Harp Lager Second Course {B} Tamarind-Glazed Pork Loin - Bob requested the Potato Gratin with this rather than the roasted potatoes, and Rachael happily obliged. {L} Herb Roasted Lamb with Irish Cheddar Potato Gratin and Guinness Barbecue Sauce Harp Lager Third Course {B} Stickey Toffee Pudding {L} Bailey's Irish Coffee Trifle - Layered Sponge Cake and Chocolate Custard topped with Bailey's Irish Whipped Cream DDE Savings: $16.59 Rachael was a delight and made sure she asked if we were planning to view Illuminations this evening. When we said we were, she said that she would monitor the timing of our meal and also escort us to their viewing area shortly before the show starts. Woohoo! There have been some updates to the menu since our last visit, which was also our first and a delightful meal we shared with Kathy and Rich, AKA Two4Disney. While Bob and I really enjoy having wine, we ordered beer here since that seemed more in keeping with this evening's theme. The Harp was quite refreshing. The mushroom pastry was everything I hoped--light and puffy with the wonderful mushroom flavor with a number of herbs peeking through, all complimented by the Harp. Bob enjoyed his soup, and Rachael divulged that while she does not really eat soup, she likes the Potato and Leek here, too, and that her parents couldn't believe it! The lamb was tender and tasty, and the potato gratin was scrumptious. I was so into my dish that frankly I don't remember anything specific that Bob said about the pork, but so far as I could tell he was enjoying it. I ordered a second Harp during this time, and about the time we finished eating the second course, Rachael arrived to escort us a short distance to the R&C viewing area, where we enjoyed Illuminations for the second time this trip. She also brought me a cup for my beer so I could take it with me and sip during the show. Once Illuminations was over, we made our way back to our table and ordered dessert. This felt so civilized and relaxed in comparison to rushing out of Epcot with the crowd to catch a bus back to the resort. Just knowing that we could stroll back to the BWI afterwards added to the evening's pleasure. Bob enjoyed the pudding. He said it was very buttery and that perhaps he would try something different the next time, so I guess it didn't make his "must have" list. The trifle was enjoyable, although the flavors were a bit more subtle than I was expecting. I thought the chocolate would stand out more, but this is a minor comment. A delightful meal! After a stop at the Throne Room [or garderobe] across the street, we ambled as opposed to sauntering out the IG and back to the Boardwalk. There we watched Antoine do some magic and card tricks. The little kids he involved in his act were very funny. Once back upstairs in the room I read for a while and then turned out the light. Coming Up: UnDISCOVERed Future World Tour Day!
