Well, I just can't stand to read about the CLT saying goodbye. It's just not right I tell ya!

I'm glad that you and Karen were able to regain your composure long enough to have a filling breakfast!

The Hollywood Holly-Day parade. Both AK and DHS had holiday parades every afternoon. Now that DHS has changed their afternoon parade, I don't know which one will run during the holidays, but going by recent history, I'm pretty sure a holiday parade will run. And I'll join you in crossing fingers for the castle dreamlights.

Day Six, Part Two
The Duo Becomes a Solo Act

Back at the WL, I said goodbye to Karen and she headed to DME. Times like this always remind me of that movie Problem Child. Everyone at the orphanage pretends to be all sad like they’re gonna miss him when the bratty kid is finally adopted, but the second he’s out of sight, a huge party breaks out! Erm, not that that’s what happened in this case. I was just thinking about that to make me feel better. Yeah. I was really sad to lose my roomies. Truthfully, it would’ve been a much sadder goodbye if we hadn’t been cooking up plans for a June trip!

What also helped was the fact that I was meeting a bunch of PassPorters in the MK before my dinner at the Kona Café. So I headed to the boat dock.

I was the first to arrive so I grabbed a few shots while waiting for the rest of the group.

Once everyone arrived (except, if I recall, Sue’s DH Steve, who was still napping and caught up with us later), we set off down Main Street to watch the castle lighting ceremony.

We next headed to Fantasyland, where we grabbed FPs for Pooh. Our next stop was Philharmagic, and I didn’t have to gripe about the lack of a preshow, because I was too deep in conversation.

The group was about to split up a bit, so I asked for a group photo. Bill had run off somewhere with Abby, so he wasn’t in the photo. Adam, Bill’s son took it for me.

L to R: Me, Jan, Donna, Sue, Steve, Cheryl, Mark and Angie

Cheryl wanted to get a sweatshirt, and we were in Fantasyland, so naturally, we had a look in the Winnie the Pooh store. Our FP window was open, so we hopped in the FP line. I didn’t take many pics, but Cheryl posted a bunch in her TR.

The group had an ADR at the Crystal Palace, and they kindly offered to see if I could be added, but the Kona Café was calling to me, so we said our goodbyes (our final goodbyes ).

But before I headed to the Polynesian for my ADR, I needed to meet up with one more friend. Bil always jokes that he would get along well with my dad because they both sing along in the shows. When I phoned Bil, he happened to be in the Country Bear Jamboree, and he answered the call mid-song.

I met up with him once the show ended, and got to meet him and his delightful family. We of course got a photo

I still had a bit more time before my ADR, so I used the time wisely – by riding POTC! There was practically no wait at all, and I even sang along a bit myself, in honor of Bil and my DF! The others in my boat kind of gave me the look. They were just jealous!

I headed out of the park and caught the resort monorail. Once at the Poly, I went to the Concierge desk, where they kindly printed out my boarding pass for me. Then I had a look around the Great Ceremonial House. I knew my next stay would be at the Poly, so I was considering this visit a sneak preview. The first thing I wanted to do was find the Hidden Mickey in the tiles in the bar, and I think it’s a one.

There were all kinds of fabulous gingerbread displays, and I ended up taking photos of all of them, I think.

I was still a bit early for my 8:25 ADR, but I was hungry, so I checked in anyway, and was seated almost immediately. I made this ADR for one reason only: the pina coladas. I’ve eaten at KC several times, but only for breakfast. Wait, the reason I know about the pina coladas is because they serve them at ‘Ohana, and I’ve eaten there a bunch of times for dinner. I don’t usually have pina coladas with my breakfast. And the fact that I said “usually” means nothing. So shut up!

I enjoyed my pina colada while perusing the menu.

Yup, still the best on property

The pineapple bread was delightful. I tried not to fill up on the bread, but it was difficult.

I couldn’t make up my mind because everything looked delicious. I ended up getting two starters instead of an entrée.

Sticky Wings with a tangy mustard drizzle and toasted sesame seeds

Pot Stickers - wok-seared duck dumplings with creamy ginger soy sauce

Just looking at these photos is making me so hungry! I didn’t make an ADR for the KC for my next trip, but now I’m thinking I should’ve. I’m staying at the Poly, so I may be popping in there if I can. For dessert I had

Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee

Now I love bananas, so I generally order the banana dessert without much consideration, but this was a no-brainer. Bananas and chocolate are one of man’s greatest combinations. Man, I wish I could go back and eat this meal again. That’ll teach me to write my TR on an empty stomach!

After my dinner, I caught the monorail back to the MK. I spent some time just taking in the sights and people watching. MK had evening EMH, and more crowds than I felt like fighting at the moment, so I decided to call it a night.

I caught the boat back to the WL, and on the walk back to my room (where I’d be all alone ) I got a text from Scarlett. She and the fam damily were at Cosmic Ray’s I think, and wanted me to join them. Dangit! I let her know that I was already back at the WL.

I started packing up my stuff, and then turned in. It took me a little longer to get to sleep because the room felt so different. You know, the fact that Eileen was now back at home, and therefore hadn’t put 11 hair clips on the curtains to shut out any light. The only little speck of light that was getting in kept me up for like 3½ min…

Glad that you had some PP's to help with the loss of your roomies!

And just to let you know, your pina colada looks about twice as big as the one I had in the bar last summer! Did they give me the kiddie version or something? You are right though -- those are THE best in the world! And I have got to get myself to the KC -- that food looks yummy!

I love your pics of their gingerbread display - - who even knew they had a gingerbread display! It's got a laid back feel to it - - just like the Poly itself!

And Sharon, why are your pictures just always so much better than mine. I want to tell you that I didn't even bother taking pictures of the fireworks at the P&P party last month - - I just thought to myself "why embarrass myself?"

I've been reading since the beginning, but I waited until now to post because... well, I don't know why!

It looks like the three of you had a blast... but all I could think when I read this last update was "ME HUNGRY!! NOM NOM NOM NOM!!"

(Just in case you don't know, "nom" is the international sound for eating like a pig. )

Jill, it was bigger than what I'm used to. Every time I've had it at 'Ohana, it was served in a tiki head glass. Perhaps because I was so enthusiastic about how good it was when I ordered, the CM gave me a super-sized version.

I'm feeling sad because your roomies are gone and I know that your TR is almost over.
I am glad that you had a good time at MK and met up with more friends, then had a wonderful looking Pina Colada and a scrumptious looking meal too!
Looking forward to hearing how you squeeze every last drop of magic out of your remaining time!
And, I'm looking forward to meeting you in less than two weeks!

So sorry that the CLT has dispersed for the remainder of trip but you had a great PP meet up. Your dinner looked scrumptious...I am going to have to get myself that direction very soon. And that pina colada looked huge.

Thanks again for the great update.
