Pre TR - Part 2 = This trip's been a long time a-coming

Don't get too excited now. I've got to try and stretch this pre tr thing out until we leave next Sunday, so I'll just be blubbering about all things unimportant really. So if you're bored, I guess this could be a good way to waste some time.

I would also like to add that I chose to do this TR in purple b/c we are staying at POFQ...which of course makes us all think of Mardi Gras, which in turn makes us all think of purple, green, and gold...... yes?? yes!

I say this trip has been a long time a-coming because really the first mention of a Disney trip with Kevin came up back over 4 years ago. Kevin and Lori had just started dating and Andy and I were planning our second trip to the World. I just remember the three of us driving somewhere and I think one of my Official Guides was in the backseat of the car. Kevin was talking about how he'd like for us to all go that next year and he'd really like for he and Lori to stay at the AKL. She had apparently talked about it in the past or something or other. Again, 4 years ago....the details are a tad bit fuzzy. (Let's face it folks, sometimes I have a hard time remembering what I wore yesterday, so I'm in trouble when I get real old).

Anyway, as I like to say, Life Happened. Kevin and Lori got engaged and started planning their wedding. Andy got his job in Charlotte and we had to move up here. And then along came Audrey. So the idea of the trip was pushed to the back burner until Audrey would be old enough to go and be able to have fun.

Well move that pot to the front of the stove! The time has arrived Sometime last fall Kevin brought up the fact that they wanted to go now. Audrey would still be under 3 (aka free ) and they wanted to go in the Spring. I think it was b/c they didn't want to deal with the summertime heat....... Since I teach and I have already used up my two personal days (which really, are they personal days when they dock you $50 a day for each personal day that you take???) so I knew the only way we could go for as long as Kevin wanted to go was that it had to be over my Spring Break. I haven't been very keen on the idea of going over Spring Break ever since this whole planning thing began, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Hopefully we'll be able to survive and get to do the majority of what I want us to do.

Kevin was still stuck on the AKL. Andy and myself however, still reeling from our $$ WL stay in the summer followed by a $$ BC stay in Dec. knew there was no way we could fork out the cash necessary to stay at the AKL. Especially not during a high cost time of the year. Once I got a quote for the AKL for 6 nights and shared it with Kevin, his tuned changed as well. So we talked them into choosing a moderate. Having stayed at POR, Caribbean Beach, and POFQ we told them what we thought about each one and told them we would suggest either CB or POFQ sincce Audrey would be with us. Kevin and Lori looked online and read some of the guidebooks and decided on POFQ (which we were secretly hoping they would choose since we'd only spent one night there last summer... so we were glad!)

They also decided they wanted to go with the Dining Plan (this was of course before the crappy changes to said Dining Plan). At first they wanted to go with the Deluxe Dining Plan. Now Kevin can eat a lot, this we know. But I really felt that this would be a waste of money for them b/c A)it's a lot of food. We had a similar deal on our honeymoon and it was A LOT of food when you eat at a TS all day. and B) you loose a lot of your time during the day b/c you have to make it to an ADR. So we talked them into just sticking with their original plan of the basic dining plan.

So once we knew what we were going to do I called up and booked us all at POFQ, Kevin and Lori on the dining plan with 7 day MYW PH. (Since Andy and I are now in posession of the glorious AP we did not need tickets....yeah, that's right....we think we're hot stuff since we have our APs )

I do have to add that originally we were just going to go and spend 3 or 4 nights while they stayed all week. But once we got to looking at it we just decided to go ahead and make this our big trip of the year (instead of going back in July) so we ended up booking the whole 6 nights.

I noticed that according to previous dates that we would just be missing the Flower and Garden Festival. But lo and behold, Disney changed the dates so that it starts right before we arrive. Wasn't that nice of Disney to take our needs into consideration? I guess they got the memo about the world revolving around me, or something like that

So we saw that the dates had changed and we'd be able to take in some F&GF for the first time and that was groovy (a little homage to Eddie Izzard... I've been watching his stand up too much lately and I find myself speaking like him....) so um...yeah.... where was I?

Once I realized we'd able to partake in the F&GF I had to rearrange some of my daily plans to fit in maximum Epcot timeage for me and Andy. Hopefully we'll be able to see and do a good bit of stuff. I definitely want to do the tea tour in the UK

And of course I've had to fit in maximum British Invasion time. I'm telling you right now, by the end of the week Eye Love will KNOW who we are! (and if you don't know who Eye Love is, you'll just have to read up on my last two, actually three, TRs. Eye Love's been making appearances in my TRs for awhile now )

So, that's the basic backstory of the trip.
Coming up I'll have our daily itinerary for all you itinerary lovin' fools!
