| You have the most beautiful family Beth. Families with special needs kids always have a spot in my heart....although we've long lost touch, one of my dearest friends had a daughter with Angelman's Syndrome. This girl had such a heart of gold and I often think how she is doing now-if she's still able to live at home or since she's now an adult if she's had to be placed in a group home or similar setting. I think I have struggles as a single mother-it definitely makes you think about what true priorities are. I really enjoyed reading about your mom's-only trip last fall and want you to know it helped me make the final decision to take my own mom's only trip. So thank you, in so many ways! Anxiously waiting for another update......and more pictures!! Love the BBB pictures of your girls......they looked just as beautiful as my Princess who is 16. Hurry back!! |

| I just love your family and can't wait to read another Beth tr! Do you happen to have a recent photo of Miss Kate? She and Maddie are so close in age that I would love to see how she's growing up! Jill

| I was going to tell you about my change in plans, but that's such a great story, I want to save it for another update. (Gotta keep you coming back, don't I? Next question we had to answer was how were we going to get there? Christian has flown several times, and we have found that the airline staff doesn’t always know how to deal with a passenger like my son. The last time the family flew into Orlando, we used Airtran. I’ll sum up that trip by saying this: never again! We were treated horribly, particularly by one flight attendant who said to her fellows, “Why is she giving me attitude?” ![]() On the flipside, Christian and I traveled to Denver last summer using Northwest and we couldn’t have asked for an easier time. The staff was so wonderful and helpful and accommodating. I can’t say enough about what a great trip that was, especially because I was so nervous about taking Christian on my own! We also had a much better trip on the way home from Denver when we flew Frontier, which I think is a sister airline of Airtran. Go figure! ![]() Does this give you any clue as to which airline will be taking us to Florida this time? Northwest, of course! Plus, since DH travels so often, he had a bunch of frequent flier miles that he said we should use, even though he’d been saving them up for a trip to Hawaii (but with all the traveling he’s been doing so far in 2008, I don’t think it will take long to replace the ones we used!) He ended up only having enough for three of us, but guess how much it cost for the other three to fly? About the same amount as DH’s aforementioned bonus. Is that cool or what? Yup, this trip was meant to be, alright!![]() I am a believer in getting an early flight so that you can really enjoy as much of your first day at your destination as possible. So, we have a 6:40 a.m. flight, which will arrive at about 9:00. We will be using DME again, because it really worked out well last time. I have no idea what to expect from the check-in line on a Monday in late April. I am hoping that it will look like this: ![]() This is the line on a Wednesday in September. Believe me when I tell you that the entire queue was full of people when we checked in on a Saturday in January! Now, on to the planning. I love to plan Disney World trips! I used to be a teacher, so I love making lists, charts, schedules…I used Tour Guide Mike for my Moms-only trip, and it worked out really well. My subscription had expired, so I sent an email to Mike on December 29th requesting my renewal discount code and had to wait until after the holiday weekend to get my code and start planning TGM-style! (Boy, that was a long weekend!) Of course, I did call right away for my ADRs, since I was already past the 180 day mark. I scored an 8:00 breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table and a lunch at Le Cellier! Up next, planning, planning and more planning... ![]()
