Hey Lesley ~ After a long hiatus from the forums, I'm slowly catching up with everyone's TRs. Disney that they could handle your luggage issues. I'm glad that you liked Pop. It's really one of my favorites. I know that's crazy considering the differemt places that I've stayed but it's such a lively place. I got to visit Pop again the last week of May.

Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures!

After a long delay I'm back with an update.

I was up at 7:30 the next morning which is 6:30 in Chicago. Since I'm not a morning person I thought that was pretty good! After a quick shower I headed out to check out Pop in daylight and to get some breakfast. I was really impressed with the theming at Pop. The icons are really amazing!

And the theming of the buildings is so . One of my favorite details is the way the colors of each level of the building get darker as you go from the bottom to the top.

I am always impressed by the landscaping at the Value resorts. When I see pictures of the resorts online I get the feeling they are all concrete, buildings and icons, but having now stayed at ASMu and Pop I can say that the landscaping is up to WDW standards at all of the resorts.

One of my favorite features at Pop was the Bowling Pin Pool in the 50s section. I love the way it is decorated as a bowling alley - down to the pool deck concrete looking like lanes, with wood board patterns impressed into the concrete and even the little arrows you find on the lanes added!

I also walked out on the bridge to the incomplete half of Pop. How sad! One of the buildings really looks the worse for wear. You can see that railings are missing and broken. I hope they do something with this one of these days.

Of course I had to take a picture of this sign:

Disneyland and I were born the same year!

I made my way over to Everything Pop for some breakfast. I had a cinnamon roll and filled my Resort mug with hot tea. The cinnamon roll was very good. I was able to use my DDE card here (I'd forgotten to use it last night ) and saved myself all of 52 cents.

I headed back to the room to pack up the few things I had gotten out the night before. While I was there the phone rang and it was Bell Services letting me know that both of my bags had made it to the resort and verifying that I wanted them transferred over to BCV. I have to say I was very impressed with Disney's baggage handling this entire trip!

I headed over to check out and saw Amy, the girl who had checked me in last night, on duty again. She checked me out and when I commented "Short night!" she smiled and shrugged. She was remarkable cheery for how little sleep she must have had.

I have to say I enjoyed my brief stay at Pop and would definitely consider staying there again if I was travelling alone or with one other person.

I decided to take a cab over to BCV so I didn't have to haul my carry on bag on WDW transportation. I wanted to keep it with me because my luggage wouldn't be delivered until mid to late afternoon and I had plans to visit SAB later. I walked out to find a cab waiting and was soon on my way to BCV!

Up next - How long will it be until my room is ready?????

Pop is a beautiful resort - I'm always impressed with the theming of it every time we visit there. The next installment doesn't sound too promising though..

Great review and photos of POP, Lesley!! I the look of the vibrant colors and I'm so glad you mentioned something about the landscaping because I come away feeling the place is mostly concrete when looking at the photos on the website too! We'll have to venture over there someday! Can't wait to hear about BCV!!
