| The tale of the topsy-turvy trip planning Part One - Pre-trip UPDATED 5/4 with ADRs! Part One - You wanna go where??? Me - 40 (been to Disney 7 times - first family trip last Sept) DH - 42 (Loves Disney!) DD - 5 (Princess fan!) DS - 3 (My little pirate!) MIL (First timer!!) Dad - the starter of the Disney craze and the true rock of my life Mom - a big princess and Disney fan - also a kid at heart! OKay. So it started with a surprise trip to Mexico for my 40th birthday. Just me and the hubby leaving our 2 and 5 year-olds with my sister. He made a sweet invitation - even had it translated into Spanish! -- and was so excited --until he saw my face. I couldn't imagine celebrating that milestone without my kids. So, I gently asked if we could change the plans to include them. Well, that turned into asking our parents as well. So, changes were made, tickets booked, good to go. But noooo.......My husband just started his business and was still busy getting it up and running. We realized we bit off a bit more than we should have so we decided to postpone the trip from my actual birthdate to mother's day - yep - just a few weeks ago. So..... changes were made, tickets RE-booked and we were good to go. But...you guessed it. noooooo.... ![]() My husband had back surgery that almost cancelled our first family trip back in September. He was doing great - until about a month or so ago. As time has passed he has been in more and more pain. Well, he got an MRI and discovered he re-injured the disk he had surgery one as well as the one above it. So....... another change of plans! Trip cancelled. Maybe Mexico was not calling us! ![]() Was this a sign to go somewhere else?We decided we were going to let him have surgery and delay the trip. This time we are booked at CSR Sept 15- 24th and doggone it, we are gonna make it! (with a little pixie dust!) ![]() So.. look for me all over the boards again as I try to plan another trip. This one will be super special with our parents. My dad will be celebrating his birthday the first full day we are there! Part Two - We're gonna eat where????

| Well, the surgery part is not going to be easy. DH had an MRI done and his re-herniated disk is pretty bad. Doc thinks he may have to do a 4 disk fusion that will put him in the hospital for 2 days and in a back brace for 6 weeks. We'll just take it one day at a time.... Onto happier news! I was going to let my travel agent do the ADRs when I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and realized - YIKES! - we were already past the 180 day mark!! So, the following day (last Sunday) I called at 7 a.m. and got all my ADRs! ![]() They are as follows: Sept 15 - Monday Arrive at resort around 5 - grab something there Sept 16 - TUesday (dad's birthday!) 9:15 CP 5:30 Wolfgang Puck (my pop's fave!) Sept 17 - Wednesday 4:10 CRT (had to for DD and moms!) Sept 18th - THursday 12:05 Tony's Town Sq. Sept 19th - Friday 5:00 50's Prime Time Sept 20th - Saturday 7:30 - CM Sept 21 - Sunday 5:00 Boma Sept 22 - Monday 12:40 Coral Reef Sept 23rd - Tuesday wide open Sept 24th - Wednesday leave I give them a big thumbs up! I was soooo happy! Everyone is really excited. Am busy checking the forums for special ideas for dad and am thinking about gift baskets for the parents. After DH's surgery Disney will be something so special to look forward to! I also can't wait to celebrate with my dad. He took us there when I was 5 and goes back with my mom every 2 years. He is a kid at heart. What special memories will be created!!!!!
