Melissa, I always fly Southwest wherever I go (I've got places I want to visit, like Atlanta, that just never make it to the top of the list because I can't fly SWA). Anyway, I book as soon as the dates become available (or as soon as I know I'm going). Then I check the fares every day. When they go down, I rebook and use the credits for more flights. Also, with their frequent flyer program you only need 8 round trips (within 24 months) for a free roundtrip ticket. I usually pay anywhere from $50-$100 each way for my flights (sometimes more, but not often). Lately it's been closer to $100 each way, which still isn't bad, but I've gotten spoiled.

Yeah...here we only have a few choices of airlines... Charlotte is a US Airways hub so we have A LOT of those... air tran, some delta... but the only nonstops outta Charlotte are US Airways and one Air Tran flight each day....
I'm thinking we should get the Air Tran card and start earning some miles...

Oh MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!! You are incredibly lucky! To be so carefree and pick up and go and not have to get another person's OK!!!!!! I am so jealous right now! I wanted to go the AP soft opening for Toy Story Mania so bad.....I just didn't have the guts to ask dh!
I fly SW whenever I can - but I have to either drive 3 hours one way (to Indy) or 2 1/2 hours the other direction ( Chicago Midway) to get to an airport that has SW.
Driving (with the gas prices) to an airport and then parking just eats up money!
I cannot wait until I live in Florida so that I can just drive!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a WONDERFUL time - think of us poor souls who aren't as lucky as you....wishing we could be traveling with you - you free spirit girl!
Take lots of pics (I know you will!)

Sharon, you're my hero! I'm so glad you're going again so soon. I can't wait to hear all about TSM, and I know you'll squeeze some FB's in there as well.

And I can't read your TR title without doing a little Flashdance boogey and singing "Maaaaaniac, Maaaaaaaaaniac...." Hey, at least I amuse my dog.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Flashdance boogey" Could you take a video of yourself doing it and post it on Youtube so I can see it?

Last-Minute Ramblings

I’m ready to go Unfortunately, I’ve got to get through a day at work (though I’ll probably leave early). I packed up everything last night, so all I’ve gotta do when I get home is grab my one little bag and go. I don’t even have to check a bag this trip.

Once I get home, I’ll grab a quick dinner and head to the airport (DF is taking me). I printed out my boarding pass yesterday (A20). I’ve been checking the fares all week, and it seems like they haven’t gone up at all, which makes me think the flight is going to be empty. But it doesn't matter, I’ll be one of the first people on!

I checked the forecast for the next couple of days (hot during the day, less hot at night). I tried to find the little mister fan I had, but it’s MIA. I think I may have given it to one of my nephews. I’ll have to pick up another one before the CLT trip.

I made plans with Terri and Lesley to join them at Spoodles tomorrow for breakfast. I’ve never eaten breakfast at Spoodles, but I have heard good things about it, so I’m excited to try it. And it gives me more time to gab with them before they head out on their Repo cruise.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the ESPN Club (thanks to mattnkatsmum), so I think I may actually get dinner there tomorrow night. And even though it’s a short trip, I am determined to find time to enjoy Stormalong Bay. I suspect the heat will serve as encouragement.

I’m really going to try to do some live updates, or at least get some writing done on the plane, since my next trip is so close and I have a firm rule of finishing one TR before starting another.

I’ll be sure to take lots of photos for those of you who want to see. I won’t post any scoring tips because I need all the help I can get to beat Eileen and Karen next month (even though I’ll have an advantage, I’m sure it won’t help, considering how bad I am at Buzz usually). I can PM tips to people, I guess.

So if any PassPorters out there happen to see me wandering about, please come on over and say

Up Next: The secret’s out!
