Just sat down and read the entire thread thus far Melissa. Sorry about all the stress you were getting because of others. It's great you get to go again soon just with your wonderful hubby to boot!

You guys are so much fun, even through reading, it's infectious. She should have tried to join in the fun instead of dampering it with negativity. I also suffer from migranes and if it gets too much for me and we're out, I either go back home and let everyone else stay OR try to bear through it. Going home is usually the best option though you don't want to suffer either. I'm very disturbed that they actually smoke around their daughter. Ok, if you wanna smoke, that's one thing but to subject very small lungs to that much smoke should be illegal.

You are however, in your happy place and smiling comes so much easier when you're there so I hope the ending of this trip is..well...happy. LOL.

Friday morning found just me, Andy, and Kevin heading out to a park. Lori had decided again to stay in with Audrey this morning. Our plan was to go back to the AK.
While we waited on Kevin to be ready to go we went down to the gift shop. I decided to buy a pack of pins so I could really start trading... I bought the tangram set....isn't that just like a teacher... I randomly pick up a pin set, and it's educational. My main motivation was that there was a stitch pin in there so I could keep that one and trade all the others.

We were at the AK right after opening and headed to Dinoland. We wanted to get Kevin on Dinosaur since we weren't able to ride it yesterday. Every time I ride this ride I love it more and more. I think Kevin had a good time on it as well. After the ride we introduced Kevin to Andy's arch nemesis....
In case you haven't read any of my other TRs .... the dino waiting just before Chester and Hester's and Andy have quite a history. Their first meeting lead to Andy being trampled...

Two years ago they made up....

But this year.... I guess he didn't like that we brought along a friend...

And check him out.... he's had some work done over the years! (We can tell you're not a natural red....)

Kevin wanted to shop around some more in Chester and Hester's. Yesterday those dang white chocolate turtles had been evil-y calling my name. I gave in today to their evil ways of temptation....

After Chester and Hester's we got in line to ride Primevil Whirl.

This ride makes me nervous....coming up on those edges really fast and then spinning at the last second to avoid plunging to your death.....

Somewhere in this time Kevin had heard from Lori. She was complaining again of a migraine..... We kept trucking along though in hopes she would feel better later on.

While in line for Primevil Whirl I had made my first "official" pin trade. The CM had a CM pin for Figment! I was soooo excited for my first trade and for a character from my favorite park! Kevin decided he wanted to go buy a pin set and start trading as well..... and like I said earlier....while I was looking for specific things Kevin would trade for anything that was a CM pin.....

On the subject of pin trading.... I have to say that I feel like a complete tool asking someone if I can look at their pins and them staring intently at their chest region........ I try to completely avoid those fellows with the little pin thing on their waist

While we waited for Kevin to go to the bathroom and buy a pin set we played around in Dinoland...

We also decided that we would call up Disney Dining to see if we could get a lunch ADR at Yak and Yeti b/c we just couldn't pass up being at the AK and not eating there again...... we called and were able to get one for any time we wanted really... We settled for like 11:30 I think...

Unfortunately.... Kevin had gotten another call from Lori. Her migraine had gotten worse and she had no medication left and she was going to go to urgent care and she wanted Kevin to come back and go with her....... oooookay. I almost broke my freaking foot last year outside Raglan Road... what did I do? Got tipsy, put ice on it all night, load up on aleve and tylenol the next few days and trucked on....... And before anybody lectures me on migraines.... I know what it's like. I get cluster ones every month around that time... in fact...I've had one for three days now. I just don't see me going to Urgent Care on my vacation unless I was bleeding to death.... But then again, I hate going to the doctor with a passion.....

SO poor Kevin had to make a decision... We had FP'd Kali (well they had, I wasn't going to go through that again... I did NOT need to buy any more new clothes this trip ) But anyway, we had FP'd Kali when we got to the park.....and Kevin wanted to ride EE again as well...he had a child swap FP from the day before that we didn't get to use....His decision.....I'm going to do these rides b/c I'm on vacation and then I'll go back.

So we went over to EE.... first Kevin had to take a smoke break. While he smoked I took some pictures..

Now here was where I felt really bad... We were confused about this child swap thing b/c of the passes Kevin and Lori had been given at Epcot before. Those were good for a few days. Apparently the one we had for EE was not. The girl at the front of the FP line questioned us....and finally I told her that we had gotten it yesterday and we didn't get to use it and we had no idea what we were doing.... She let us through but said that those were only good the day of... Okay, lesson learned and I slunk off embarassingly through the line. The guys? They didn't even bat an eye.

Anyway, after EE we headed over so they could use their FP for Kali. I went and found a spot to get their picture...

They were wet but not as soaked as I would have liked to have seen. I mean the one time I rode it I was ringing out my shorts....

Kevin left us after Kali to go see about Lori... We decided to walk through the Jungle Trek since we didn't do that yesterday.....
This tiger was cracking me up!!

Seriously dude, what are you grinning at???

We moved quickly through the trek and then decided we wanted to finally find those dang trails around the Tree. We have yet to be able to find them. Well this trip.... SUCCESS!! I took a bazillion pictures.... here's a few..

We also found the kangaroos...

On the other end of the trial we found Terk. I told her something about lovin' her 'do and that my DH was jealous of that mohawk b/c he couldn't grow one

It was getting close to our ADR time so we walked back through the trails to get out the other side closer to Asia...
On the way I finally found the spot where you can look through the holes in the trunk to see certain animals on the Tree. I can't take credit for the find though.... Andy saw a guy coming from this spot and figured that's what it had to be.....

Coming up... More time at the AK

Great update Melissa!

I love all of the pictures

I cannot stand people who feel a little "sick" and think they're dying There are certain people out there that whine all the time so they become less believable when they say they aren't feeling well. Given Lori's track record on this trip she seems to fall into that category if you ask me.

Looks like you guys still had a good time at AK, and I'm glad Kevin stayed and did EE and Kali.

All caught up.

Glad you are having a good time even though your traveling companions leave alot to be desired.

I've been thinking - - - I'm an ER nurse(which means I probably always think the worse about people complaining of chronic pain), but I'm wondering if Lori doesn't have more of a problem with pain medicine than she does with migraines. I probably shouldn't even say anything, because I don't know her situation, but I couldn't help myself.

It has just made be think - especially after you made the comment about her taking more meds than she was prescribed. Also her attitude after she ran out has just been terrible. I realize it could truly be because she had a migraine, but most people with migraines lock themselves in a dark, quiet room and dare anyone to turn on the lights or say a word. After she walked around DTD with a migraine.......Just makes me a little suspicious.

Glad you had a good morning at AK. I have never heard anyone say anything about the holes in the Tree of Life. I am going to have to check those out.

Awesome Pictures around the tree those! Glad you all had a great morning...until Lori made her debut for the day The last thing I would want to do while on vacation is spend my time in Urgent Care so is she like a hypochondriac or is it just migrains? Too bad Audrey did'nt get to enjoy the morning with the rest of you. I feel bad for Kevin are there issues that pop up all the time with her, you know in everyday life? Oh it would be bad if they stumble upon the PP boards (eek)...!

I was thinking that same thing, when I get a migraine I need a dark quiet room. I would be in tears at someplace as loud and lit up as DTD, I also get very sick to my stomach so I don't think that eating a candy apple would "cure" it.

Sounds like ya'll had a great time at AK despite the medical emergency! Terry and Travis both get migraines and the only thing they want to do is sleep usually in a dark room.
BTW - Where was Audrey during this time?

Great morning at AK...glad you got to do everything that you wanted. I even felt a bit bad for Kevin...another migraine (seems she had quite a bit of those on this trip).

She might get more relief if she learned to hold back on her meds (instead of taking so many) and they might actually work when she gets a bad one...(I try so hard to hold out when I get one so when I finally do take something it works - if not I sleep it off) but I agree...I would have to be unconcisous in order to go to urgent care (especially on vacation).

Can't wait to hear how your lunch at Yak & Yeti was...
