Uhoh!!!! Sounds bad!!! - I can't wait to hear it though b/c we no longer will take vacations with any friends or families b/c I always felt like I had to make everyone happy and I told DH I'm done - that was about 5 years ago and we have had great vacations every since!!!!

Melissa and/or Andy - can you tell me if the dancer performs every night? On our trip in October we planned an 8:00pm dinner at RR because we wanted to experience the live entertainment. My DD and her 17 yo friend are coming and they really wanted to hear Irish music and see the dancer. I figure since you all go there alot you may know.

Your night out sounded great until the "migraine" hit...the food sounded great, the music was about to start and then...but you know what they say...it is better to party alone then someone who is a party pooper (ok...I don't know if anyone said that but they should have )

I can understand you being upset since this was something that was planned for you all to do together and it would have put a sour taste in my mouth (now I know someone said that) for the rest of the trip as well...

You deserve this surprise Memorial Weekend trip after what I am afraid to think as a trip that got progressivly worse???

We're pretty positive that the only night they don't play is Sunday nights (they have joked in the past that they go to church and pray)... Monday and Tuesday nights used to be all Irish music all night (not sure if it still is...but I bet it is)... and Wed. through Sat. is Irish music for the first two hours and then switch it up for late night with some good ole rock n roll. The dancer performs during the Irish music parts off and on.

Yay! I finally got caught up today. I have been slammed at work and just was able to get caught up! Glad i found it....
The pool at the POFQ is amazing! I really hate that I wont get to see it this year again. Eventually i will get to stay there Loved that tatt's on your feet...great idea
As for the latter part of the night....Raglan Road is the best! I cant believe she would make up some bad excuse and then walk around for an hour to make it even more obvious that she was probably fibbing. That wouldve hurt my feelings too if she had done that...she seems like a downer overall At least you guys were in different rooms huh? I have never heard of a child be able to stay up forever like they let her do..i babysat for years and they were always asleep if you made then environment for them to do so. Well i'm dying to hear more! I can only imagine what comes next, its so hard to travel with others sometimes...

Day 4 part 1..

Believe it or not everyone was pretty much ready to go on time this morning… We had to wait just a few minutes for Lori to get finished with Audrey and then we were off to catch a bus to the AK. Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long. When we arrived we headed on in and Kevin and Lori stopped to pick up their stroller. While we waited I snapped a pic of this guy…


We had tried to explain to Lori and Kevin that the best thing to do (the thing we always do that always works for us) is to go over and grab EE FPs and then go ride the Safari. Well once they get in the park they kept on about how the “munchkin” wasn’t getting to ride anything and they wanted to go on to the Safari. I swear, by the end of this trip if I heard Lori refer to Audrey as “The Munchkin” one more time I was gonna backslap her.
And with that in mind, I was so irritated for them to say she hadn’t gotten to ride a lot. Well who the he**’s fault is that?!? I planned us a whole morning/afternoon at the MK in Fantasyland the other day just for Audrey and what did you do?!?! Stand around bitc*&#! and moaning about the fact she hadn’t ridden anything and taking your fifty billion smoke breaks! AND, their reasoning was that they could use the whole child swap to ride EE but what they wouldn’t get through their thick skulls was that they had to have a FP in the first place to get a child swap FP. They misused and abused the child swap system so much it made me sick.
But I digress…..
So that comment was made and despite our sensible talk trying to get them to understand that by doing it this way we would be able to ALL ride something. The Safari for EVERYONE and EE for the adults. So finally Andy said screw it and took everyone’s ticket and ran to EE himself while we headed to the Safari.
I had to stop and take my ceremonial Tree picture..


We got to the Safari fairly quickly and there really wasn’t much of a line forming. I wanted us to wait until Andy got back so he could go through the line with us but they weren’t stopping. I kept calling Andy to see where he was but he wasn’t answering his phone. Finally as we were like halfway through the line he picks up and says he’s running up to the Safari right now. And then once again, for the second time so far this trip, I had to become one of the things I hate other people for being…that person who’s holding up people and yelling at their family member to hurry up while said family member has to “excuse me, my wife is up there” his way past everyone in line, I’m sure getting many dirty looks in the process. I was trying to avoid this whole disaster in the first place, but did they care? No.

So finally we were on the Safari….


It was a pretty successful one. Audrey enjoyed herself and seeing the animals. I took a bunch of pictures of course, but I’ll only post the interesting one. We all got a kick out of this..

The cranes had been taking lessons at the spa apparently and were giving out free massages to any hippo in the water.
The truck in front of us had a great close up view of a giraffe on the side of the road but he moved right as we got up to him….. oh well. I’m still waiting for the day when we have to stop to let some random animal cross the street…

After the Safari we headed out to catch the train to Conservation Station, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, whatever it’s called now.

Kevin of course started acting all unsure of it and I was trying to tell him that this would be a good place for Audrey. They have characters there, animals, and a petting zoo. And a train ride to boot and Audrey LOVES trains.
So we headed in….Andy wanted to let you know the Train was thatta way…


We walked up and one train was pulling out..

We only waited like two minutes before another train arrived…
While we waited Andy tried to steal this guitar…

But it was bolted down of course…. (probably due to people like Andy…trying to pick it up)…
Then our train arrived..

Audrey was all excited to be on board.

As were we…. This was another first for us that we had always wanted to do.


It was really cool to see the backstage area and homes of the animals. And it was a nice relaxing train ride as well. When we arrived I got Audrey with some elephants..

Then on the way in…

We spotted this guy.
We stopped at the little stations they have on the way in. I guess since I’m a teacher, or perhaps because I have some sense about me, I wanted to stimulate Audrey’s brain by letting her take part in one of the kid’s activities. Of course we had to kind of twist Kevin’s arm to participate…and then it was like he was just doing it for her rather than leading her through it….although once I did it with her and jumped in he kinda started sounding like a teacher

After she found all the animals in the garden we moved to the building.

Unfortunately we were told that the petting zoo was closed for a few hours b/c they had to paint or something. Kevin started complaining, but I mean c’mon…what are you gonna do? You can’t change it. Just have fun and do what you can.

Then they of course had to take a smoke break. I guess the bad news about the petting zoo was just too much. I did not want to waste any more time on that and Andy and I headed on inside.
And WOW!

I wish I had more time to look at all of these AND I was kicking myself for leaving all my hidden mickey notecards from last year’s trip at home. There are sooo many here and I had my little list all ready last year but we never made it out here…….and then I go off and leave my list at home and actually make it out here this year…. Shame shame on me.
We wandered around inside for a bit. Kevin and Lori finally joined us. They all did one of the rainforest listening rooms but I have a thing about being in a closed up dark room like that…..so I passed.
When they came out they went outside to see what was out there… Andy petted a goat. He’s got a thing for goats….
Then Kevin and Lori of course, had to have another smoke break…
I went back in to see when the characters would be coming out and it was right then! So I ran out and got Andy and we brought Audrey in ourself and made pictures with Rafiki..

As you can see, she sat down again
Then we headed over to meet Jiminy for the first time!! I was soo excited!

Kevin and Lori had decided to grace us with their presence again so they got to see Audrey with Jiminy.

No sitting this time. I guess b/c Jiminy was down on her level….
Also, Andy pointed out that it wasn't very nice of Disney to make Jiminy stand in that particular spot....do you see the posters behind him??

When we walked back outside we saw a CM with this little fellow….

Then I took a second picture of him….. Look closely at the two pictures….

Do you see what I see that I thought was hilarious?!?
We caught the train back to Africa……

And when we arrived at the station I finally saw one of these signs!
