| Just caught up on your TR, and I am loving it!! What a great way to surprise the kids, I don't think I could be as good with a secret. Hope your daughter is not moody the whole time, but we have a few moody folks here too. Sorry you didn't like your meal at the Rainforest Cafe, I think it is hit or miss and my kids like the idea of it better than the actual meal. Can't wait to hear more!! Beth |

| Day 2 (Magic Kingdom): The night before I used the wake up call on the phone to set a wake up call for 7:15am. When it rang this morning, I had Madilyn answer. She said no one was there. I think by using the button instead of calling the front desk, we missed the character call. Oh well. We all got up and moving pretty quickly. I had packed stuff for breakfast in the room. Madilyn, Dillon, and I each had granola bars. Wesley had poptarts. We took turns getting dressed in the restroom and were quickly ready to go. I asked the kids if they wanted to take their mugs with us to fill up on the way, but no one wanted to lug them around, except me. I took mine because I was really jonesing for some diet coke. Once again Wesley and Madilyn carried their fannypacks and Dillon left his. But this time I carried a few extra poncho's in my back pack "just in case". We headed to the buses cutting across the parking lot. Wesley immediately spotted a Magic Kingdom bus pulling up. I had my refillable mug in hand to fill up, but I knew the kids were ready to go and would complain if I made them miss that bus. (even though I know another one would have been along shortly). So I stuffed my empty mug in my back pack and we got on the bus. We were dropped off at the Magic Kingdom just after 8am. I soon realized this was a little too early. Everyone was waiting for the opening ceremony. Luckily there was a gift shop open and The kids were all to glad to spend our extra time shopping! As it got closer to opening time, they kept announcing that for the best view center yourselves in front of ?. I kept centering us in front of the tunnel thing you enter thru/under. But I soon realized that was not what they were referring to and so we did NOT have a good spot for the opening ceremony. We still got to see it and I think in the interest of all involved it was better that we spend that hour letting Madilyn shop rather than standing in the sun trying to get a spot for the opening ceremony. This allowed her to be off to a great start! ![]() Up Next: Rope drop/ Were In!

| What a great 1st day at AK....I actually love when it rains, the lines are short and it really cools off the hot summer heat. Glad you kept going instead of heading out of the park... I love Dinosaur as well but as you said....I would much rather do it alone then with the little ones nails digging a hole in my skin Can't wait to hear about your first day at MK.... |

| I don't have any children, so I always love to hear about kids reactions to their first visit. Your descriptions are so vivid that I love hearing about how your children respond to everything. Your writing is funniest when your children don't behave according to plan. I am truly impressed with your ability to wrangle three children on your own. I know you are used to it and are an old pro, but I think I would be going a little bonkers with all the stimulation and distraction WDW can supply a child. Kudos to you for the start of a wonderful trip report.

| Just got caught up on AK day and MK opening! I cant believe the no lines that you encountered! That really allowed for you to get a lot done and take your time with the rain!! We tried to cross to catch a bus in AK parking lot one time as well and was told to get back where we belong. We were so tired and the bus was right there!! i'm a jaywalker anyway but i usually obey the rules at disney, but i know what you mean when you say they told you to go back in the storm with the lightening!! That's crazier!!
