| Monday, June 9th… Once again, no wake-up call or alarm set but I still managed to rouse at a reasonable hour…enough time to get everyone else up, grab a quick bite and then head out for the morning. We would be returning back to the MK and had been debating taking the bus or parking at the TTC. Ultimately, we decided to stop being transportation snobs and made our way to the bus stop. Although the temps weren’t much warmer than our previous days, the humidity was definitely up. This did not bode well at the bus stop as the bus took forever and a day to come. There were loads of people waiting and the poor CM was getting verbally pummeled by some of them. He was doing his best to provide some crowd control and did make some phone calls about the situation. In any case, after what was an unusually long wait….three MK buses pulled up, one after the other. Within fifteen minutes, we were making our way to the entrance of the MK. In the end, it all worked out as we were arriving at the tail end of opening. ![]() The kids had compiled a fairly specific request of rides and attractions for the day….if the crowds were still cooperating; I figured we could hit them all. We headed straight to Buzz and walked right on to do our part in fighting the evil emperor…fortunately, the fate of the universe does not rest in our hands as our scores are fairly pathetic! From there, we headed towards Fantasyland but ran smack into Push…had to stop and take a few moments to say hello. (Note....where is everyone???) ![]() ![]() Onto Fantasyland where we enjoyed Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan. As we were heading onto Peter Pan, we spied the Dream Squad giving away Dream FP lanyards…close but no cigar! Our last requirement in Fantasyland was Mickey’s Philharmagic….once again, the theatre was maybe 2/3 full and the CMs were allowing people to stay towards the center of the rows. Izzy wanted another round on Splash Mountain so Paul headed there with the kids while I went to pick up FPs for Big Thunder. I wasn’t sure if Izzy would even agree to go but I got all four FPs…just in case. I was thrilled that the window was close enough that it should be open by the time the fam exited Splash. The standby wait was listed at 20 minutes so I guess a lot of people were opting to just get in line instead of burning a FP? I then made my way back towards the bridge to see if I could catch my crew. I spotted them but once again, too slow with the camera skillz! I spent a little time chatting with a very pregnant mom whose hubby and son were trying Splash for the first time. I was totally impressed she was zipping around WDW…I think I would have been floating in pool if I was her! I met back up with everyone and noticed they were significantly wetter than the evening before. Izzy did not love it as much…she said ‘my belly went up into my throat’. More worrisome to me though, was evidence of her crazy rash…it was on her face and neck and it wasn’t looking too lovely. I was relieved she didn’t want to go on BTMRR….I sent the boys with all four FPs and instructed Paul to find a nice twosome to hand them off to before taking the other two for him and Andrew. I plopped Izzy into her stroller, sought the cool comfort of a store, and tried to get to the bottom of her cough/rash. Still insisting she was fine, I gave her some extra antihistamine...knowing Izzy’s history, I was afraid of what might follow if I took a wait and see approach. We made our way to Columbia Harbor House which we were especially looking forward to as it was our first visit here. Andrew had the Lighthouse Sandwich, I enjoyed the BLT Salad, and Paul had the Garden Harvest Salad. (Izzy had an Uncrustable that we picked up somewhere along the way). The verdict….the food is definitely a notch above Cosmic Rays/Pecos Bills and it is a refreshing change. We will definitely be back! The kids had one last request which was a ride on the TTA before heading to the shops on Main Street. It was a perfect way to digest our luncheon and of course, no line to speak of! ![]() ![]() Shopping was next and the kids picked up a few new pins. We headed out to the bus loop and I held my breath wondering how long it would take to get back to the AKL. Imagine my utter glee as a nice, air-conditioned bus was waiting for us! Woo-hoo….we were back at the AKL in no time and I was quite pleased with our return trip! danielle
