| Thank goodness you remembered the lost bag so quickly. With my allergies, I would have flipped out if I found out that I misplaced my meds!

| Just catching up! Great updates!! So glad Paul was able to recover the backpack and all of Izzy's meds. (I noticed the WE in your comments. I get that a lot from my DH, as well. It usually comes out when there was some kind of error on his part, that there is no way he is going to accept any type of blame on his own! ) Can't wait to hear more

| I would not have been so kind to my DH especially after a long hot day. I can get cranky in the heat. So glad it was still were he left it and the crisis was averted. Hurry back with more.

| So glad that you found the knapsack Dani - I get so nervous when it comes to taking the little ones meds and making sure I have everything with us when we leave... On one vacation we did lose one of her medications, I was in a panic but luckily the doctor was on call was able to get me a new one. I too have gotten to leaving some back at the resort just in case as well as my doctor gives me emergency perscriptions to take with me "just in case". Sorry Izzy's rash is coming back, hopefully everything will be fine once you get her home but everyone seemed to have a wonderful time at AK for the evening after what looked like a delicious meal at Jiko's (we are trying it for the first time in December and I can't wait Can't wait to hear more...

| Just read your entire TR and lovin' it! What an incredible way to kick off the summer with a surprise trip to the happiest place on earth! AKL is our favorite resort and we are excited to try AKV concierge for the first time this fall. Your dining choices are awesome... and prompted many trips to the kitchen while reading this report! Glad to hear you are all having such a wonderful time and looking forward to reading more. Keep it comin'.....

| Tuesday June 10th…. (By the way, I realized I dated the last updates Sunday June 9th instead of Monday June 9th…sorry bout that!) As last night was a late one, we all slept in a bit. Today was departure day and we didn’t have much planned besides a breakfast ADR at Boma. I was glad we didn’t have to hop outta bed and be on the go as my legs were definitely on the achy side. In any case, we were all up, washed, dressed and downstairs in time for our 9am ADR. We checked in and were handed a pager. The restaurant was moderately busy and I knew we would be sitting in a few moments. Sure enough, the pager was vibrating a minute or two later. We were led to a lovely table that could have easily sat six. I was grateful to have a little extra space at the table for all the plates that we would be enjoying! As soon as we sat, our server, Albert, came by with the frunch. This was our first time at Boma for breakfast and I was happily looking forward to the frunch. It did not disappoint! Fruity and smooth, refreshing and yummy! ![]() Chef Eugene came out and took Izzy’s breakfast order. The boys went up to buffet while I kept Izzy company. Soon enough, Izzy’s fruit platter was brought out and it was beautifully plated. She dug in and before long, her pancakes were out. ![]() ![]() After getting her settled with all her food, I went up to the buffet for the first time…the boys were on their second trip already! I became so side tracked in all the wonderful selections that I totally forgot about photographing anything, sorry! I do have to say, breakfast here was fantastic. We all enjoyed our food selections immensely, loving how Boma marries traditional American breakfast fare with African. I also need to take a moment and again give kudos to our server Albert...he was very attentive and very entertaining. Chef Eugene made another stellar, allergen free meal for Izzy. After a thoroughly enjoyable experience, Paul and the kiddos headed up to Zawadi; there was a scavenger hunt Izzy wanted to do. ![]() I went back to the room to finish up the last minute packing and then called bell services to pick up our bags to be shipped back home. I took a few more moments to sit on the balcony and enjoy the savannah and as I did, the rest of my family returned and proceeded to join me. We relaxed out there for a bit and commented on what a fabulously unique experience staying at the AKL had been. All too soon, it was time to say our final goodbyes and make our way to the airport. ![]() In all actuality, we were not our usual bummed out when we headed outside the bubble. This mini, three day weekend was an awesome trip and we all felt excited about trying so many new things in such a short time. I will be back in a few with a final wrap up. danielle
