Day 8 Part 1 Updated 8/17/2008

Monday 5/19 day 8

So we were up early today even after the late night last night because we had very early breakfast ressie's at AK today! We were eating at Tusker House at the new Character Meal. I was excited to try it!

We took the bus from AKL it was very quick and we got to the gate and well they didn't have us on the list! I gave them my ADR # and they couldn't find it! But they let us go in and so we went back to the restaurant and they had us on the list so it was just a Misprint or something. We waited maybe 5 minutes then they brought us back to get our photo taken and then we were taken to our seats. We were to the right of the buffet but in the back from our table you looked straight and saw the whole buffet. It was an ok location but the characters took a very odd route.

We had a great time and the food was pretty good. I only went up once, but there was so much that I would have probably over done it if i went back again. Would we go again....probably once we hit all the character breakfasts but not right away.

Here are some shots as we went into the park, Harambe and breakfast!

We had a great breakfast and a lot of fun!

Up Next...See you in 2 weeks! We are off on Safari!

Great update and pictures! I think the next time we go out to lunch with Gram, we should bring a framed copy of this one for the centerpiece on the table!

Day 8 Part 2 Update 8/18

So after breakfast at Tusker House we headed out and got into our ECV's we decided to do the Safari since it was right there. Grandma had never seen Animal Kingdom before and she would love the safari for sure!!

We made our way through the line and got parked in the Accessible loading zone. We were loaded into the safari vehicle and away we went for our 2 week safari. On our way we saw....

Imagine this we saw another group on safari way out here in the african savannah what are the odds

But on we went where we saw some more animals like....

isn't he cute...

Now this guy was tall! and we don't think he is full grown yet!

Now these guys would make me want to not be in front of them in a stampede!

I wonder if this is Rafiki's Cousin

This is better then the photo from a trip or so ago at least this elephant isn't ummm fertilizing the ground

I wonder if Chevy sponsors these? *impalas get it? Chevy...Impalas...nevermind... *

Wow and that one is only a baby! I'd hate to be the one who had to ummm create that circle of life

OK so if you look very close at the photo this is the only photo of a cheetah I have ever gotten...but its hard to tell you have to really focus and look! Can you find it?

So far since 1998 so 10 years I have never ever seen the line awake will this be the trip for me to see them awake and moving....

NO! Sorry not this trip maybe next time

But I did get to see the female lioness this time but still sleeping!

Then we moved on to

I am sure there would have been more to see but some mean poachers tried to take little red so we had to go save him but don't fret we got to go to the Pangani Exploration trail where we got to see more animals!

So now that we were back in the village of Harambe we decided to take the Pangani Trail and see if we can find any of my father's relatives ...sorry Bad joke there but we did find a few gorilla's

What is with animals...me...and weird poses??

Maybe the joke wasn't that far off ok ok i won't make fun of my father anymore for right now at least

But since I can't make him the butt of any of my jokes ...

Here though is a nice shot!

After our tour of the Gorillas we headed out and were going to go to Rafiki's planet watch but the sky's were gray and sprinkles were falling so we headed to Expedition Everest so that we could ride before it started pouring.

But here is where the bad TR writer and Photog came in....I stopped photos here until the parade.. We rode EE twice in a row! Then we went to Finding Nemo where I got yelled at for not finishing my ice cream until we were at the entrance to go down the hill into the theater so i had to finish then throw it away before I was let down the hill. Ah well live and learn.

After Finding Nemo we headed to Pizzafari for lunch, we all had the Hot Italian Deli Sandwich and all loved it! It was then onto get spots for the parade. We wanted to make sure we got spots in the shade but in Harambe so that we could be close to Camp Minnie Mickey but not in an awkward space. We sat right in front of the Tusker house and we became the markers for the Handicap accessible section the CMs were funny they put us so that no one would be able to stand in front of us and roped it off. It was great!

A couple of shots of Harambe..

Now onto the Parade!

What a great parade! This was our first time ever seeing it so to share a first with my Grandma was special! While its odd having strangers in the parade, i think its a cool magical moment for them and maybe someday we will get chosen to participate!

Up Next... Its a Festival for the rest of ya'll... and That wasn't in our Plans!!
