| May 13, 2008 Day 2 Part 1 With such a long day yesterday you would think we would take it easy this morning and get a later start since we were going to be looking at apartments But no, we were up bright and early at 5:30 because we had breakfast at Boma planned before heading out to look at apartments. So upstairs to the lobby and then over to Boma where we had a WONDERFUL breakfast and loads of Frunch to drink that stuff is addicting! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now for the food: (I worn you that if you are reading this with an empty stomach i'm not responsible ) The Breads and breakfast desserts ![]() ![]() The Jams Jelly and Butter ![]() The Bagels ![]() The Muffins ![]() The Cereal ![]() The Fruit ![]() The Egg Station ![]() The Meat and specialty station ![]() ![]() The Fire Pit ![]() A hidden or not so hidden mickey ![]() The Chocolate Sculpture ![]() ![]() We had a great meal and its our favorite breakfast on property recommend it to everyone we know because of the great selection, the wonderful staff and atmosphere. After breakfast we spent a little while exploring the hotel, the grounds taking photos etc and then gathered our things before heading out to look at apartments. | Okay, I'm caught up now. Lots of ups and downs with this trip, but it sounds like you are handling them well. I Boma and I think breakfast is my favorite (and I'm not a breakfast kind of gal). Can't wait to hear all about apartment hunting. When are you moving? |

| Day 2 Part 2 updated 5/30 Once we got our things together, our clipboard with the list of apartments on it, the binder with the print outs about those apartments, the camera etc we got the car from valet and headed on our way. We decided today we would focus on Davenport, Clermont, and Winter Garden the apartments that are close to WDW but not in Orlando, and a little bit on the outskirts of the area. First up was Davenport, we found that if we went out to Sherberth Road which is the crossroad you drive across to drive out to the parks on the busses from AKL as soon as you leave the hotel that you could get to 192 and it was fast on and off property that way! We headed out to Davenport which was about a 10 minute drive at the most. It was easy to find the first apartment. It was a nice location very rural but still close enough to everything that you didn't feel like you were to far to enjoy the perks of being close to disney! The Villages at Town Center was the name and it seemed very quiet and relaxed. ![]() We went inside and the sales rep was nice enough to take us on a tour of a 2 bedroom apartment but they didn't have a model open but they did have a 2 bedroom that people had moved out of about 4 days before and as long as we didn't mind seeing one that hadn't been cleaned he'd show it to us. We wanted a general idea and figured why not. I took photos of the outside of the building, the amenities and the apartment so bare with me! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Bedrooms weren't huge but not tiny and the living space was ok but we could tell that it would be cramped but the price is nice and if we can't find anything else we would take it but it isn't a top choice. Next on our list was Clermont FL, there were a few there and we drove over from Davenport it was a little bit further away but the area seemed nice, not overly built up but not so rural like Davenport either. The First two places we drove up to gave me the willies and mom and I made the executive decision not to even bother looking at them. So we stopped for lunch at Long John Silvers/Taco Bell (they were in the same building). G'ma always wanted to try LJS but doesn't have one near her house so she was thrilled! Mom and I had Taco bell which never disappoints. We stopped at the Wal-Mart that was right there and picked up a few things we realized we had forgotten. and then as we were driving out I noticed that there was a sign for Luxury Apartments so we drove back to see what they looked like. The whole area around the complex was set up like a town center and reminded me of our Evergreen Walk here in CT with little shops, cafes etc with condo's above some of the stores though, and then there were two sets of apartments, one was income restricted and the other was open to everyone. We decided to try and take a tour but they were painting the outsides of the buildings and the model was shut down. But they were nice enough to take us around on a golf cart and show us everything else! Here is the area: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I found someone had done a Video on Youtube driving through the community and if you don't mind the commentary you can get a feel for the area : Cagans Crossing We know that we didn't see an apartment but we kept it on the list and figure we can if once we move don't like the place we chose can come back and look at the apartments later and when the lease is up switch there if need be! So with that we decided to head over to Winter Garden FL and we drove and drove and finally got to a complex we found online that looked like it was new well it was so new that they only had a construction Trailer for pre leasing open and then houses to buy but the apartments hadn't even been started yet So we decided to try another apartment complex I saw and we drove and drove and drove and well we got lost even with the GPS or the address they gave was wrong because we ended up here; ![]() ![]() Yep back at Disney we took that as a sign that it was time to call it quits today we saw 1 whole place and 1 half place just the outside and the town center Some photos of our drive back to the hotel: ![]() ![]() We got back to the hotel and animal watched, took naps, relaxed, G'ma and Mom went to the pool for a while. It was nice to have those amenities to use since we were having a down day! Tonight was Ohana's for dinner and I was excited to share our favorite meal with G'ma! We did catch this guy eating his dinner outside our room before we left: ![]() Headed over to the Poly, we gave the car to the valet and headed inside, we got onto the elevator and this family decided that all 19 of their family members plus our 3 were going to fit We were STUCK ON THE ELEVATOR!!! I don't like elevators, I got stuck on one at work and I don't really enjoy small spaces and with 21 people can you imagine the space I had and the ummmmm smell as it was obvious they had been in the park all day which i can understand but that elevator was getting hot, stinky and I wanted OFF! We pressed the alarm button and yelled and then the teenager in the family decided it would be fun to jump and down which made it like totally feel like we were going to crash to our doom! After the really bad noise it made he realized that jumping wouldn't help and we heard a manager say that maintenance was almost there and would have us out. Well it must have just been overloaded of course to the family! They got there finally got the thing to move and we were back on the 1st floor SO we took the stairs! I did not plan on riding a tower of terror much less one at the Poly so I was glad to be on solid ground again We were late to our ADR but they were very understanding, we were sat about 10 minutes after checking in and we got a window seat but the trees blocked our view so we only saw the high parts of Wishes. but it was very good very magical! Here are some photos of the Poly and We took photos of most of the food so again not responsible for anything ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We missed photos of the Noodles and the meats and the dessert. We found the noodles to just be ok but the dessert was awesome!!! The Entertainment was great as alway! ![]() We headed back to the hotel via the stairs and our car and headed to bed as it has been a busy couple of days! Up Next....Day 3 More Apartments and what do you want to do now?

| Great update and great pics! I'm not clostraphobic or anything but I would not enjoy being stuck on an elevator with 20 some people much less after they had the smell of being at the parks all day! Can't wait to hear what apartment you decide on.
