| So, I just need to vent a little bit. Anyone on here from my TR last summer remember our x-Disney "friends"? (For those who don't remember-- me and Rob had best friends for a while who were a couple our age. We loved that we had tons in common and whatnot. When they came back from going to WDW for the first time we all decided we would take a trip together. However, they then got kinda greedy and rushed a trip before we left. So, Rob and I planned our first trip as a trip to celebrate my college graduation- just the two of us. We had an amazing time. They then HAD to go back again and did not enjoy their trip as much as they should have but were focusing on the fact that they were out to get a better deal than us. We planned our second trip, so they planned their 3rd trip the same way. In line with these shenangins they began competing with us in life in general. Rushing everything, talking down to us, and all the while we were just fine and happy and happy for them to boot-- and I think because of this we had karma on our side and have been very successful. Eventually when Rob and I moved in together, it was too much for them and we haven't heard from them in months which we are fine with. We had had a somewhat falling out early that summer and that was just the straw that broke the camels back. Toxic friends aren't very good for you, ya know? Its unfortunate because if they could have just been as happy for us in our successes as we were in theirs I would still have a best friend who loved all things walt disney world! However, I can only take so much.) So, back to whats bothering me today... I was just on myspace, and they are not my "friends" but I was clicking around and came across one of their sisters and her default pic is her and the girl from the infamous couple.. on Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin. I know this sounds stupid and all, but I am kinda jealous. I mean, I know I shouldn't be-- me and Rob have a great life, great jobs, great dog, great families, great apt, great future... and if they were our friends they should have been happy for us along the way like we were for them, and they shouldn't have treated us like that! BUT there is something about the fact that we don't have other friends now like they used to be for us. And that they might have (they went to WDW with thier sister in 2006 so it is a very slim possibility its an old pic) gone on their 4th WDW trip so far before our 3rd trip just gets me stirred up! Does anyone understand how I feel? Did anyone even read this whole ramble? Next up :::::Every Cloud Has Its Silver Lining::::: ![]()

| As hard as it is, Melissa, I would just do my best to let it go. Like you said, toxic friends aren't good for you; they pull you down leaving you to feel frustrated and not so good about yourself. I wouldn't worry so much about not having the friends that you'd like; that may come in time, but I'd focus on you & Rob and the quality trips that you've had and are going to have. Jealousy is normal, just don't let it take over! ![]()

| I agree with Dyan, she said it perfect. I too am thinking of maybe making a short trip to WDW at Christmastime as I have never seen all the Christmas finery and stuff.

| The t-shirts look great and it sounds like you scored a great deal on them also. I can't imagine a school not having air condition, but I guess it worked out well for you in this particular situation. I bet it gets hot in that class room at times......... Sorry about your friends, I'd just try not to think about it , but I can understand how you feel about their disney trips.

| I know all about toxic friends ...you are so much better off when you can distant yourself from them. Think of it like this...your X-friends are not going to the same Disney as Rob and yours...you have special things that you do together or inside jokes about certain attractions...thats what i do when i hear people that i don't care for are going to WDW ...I always say "yes but they are not going to my WDW" .

| Wouldn't it be great if we could just put some people out of our minds and just get on with life!... 'course that's impossible for most of us. But, anyway, why are you jealous? As you said, you have all those great things in your life. Circumstances have set you back a bit, but you are getting it back together. Concentrate on your trip... it's going to be FABULOUS!!!

| I did read all your rant and i think everyone has some great advice on here! Seriously. I think that if someone is that negative and competitive then its not worth the friendship......just like starla said their version of disney could be totally nothing you would enjoy and i'm sure that you have read many TR's where taking a negative couple like that can completely ruin a disney vacation that took you a lot of planning and money...so it may be best that you arent connected to them in that way anymore. I know what you mean though...eric said i'm the kid who brings home the lost children...i will befriend anyone and i have been burned many a times and lost some really good friendships that I cherished. But like others have said...sometimes you gotta think it maybe for the best and keep moving! As for les chefs de france....i honestly thought it was a good place but if you want to end your disney food on a good note you might want to choose something you know you will love. As for CP and 1900 park fare......lets just say im not a big buffet eater but disney, for me, has made it the one place i will eat buffet. I thought CP buffet was amazing and the food was a plenty....i had the 1900 park fare breakfast and it was SUPER good and my friend had the dinner back at thanksgiving and raved about how good the food was.....my dbf is not big on buffets either so i know where you nerves stem on that issue

| Well, I'm back and I've missed so much!!! I'm glad the vacay box is making it's re-appearance!! That means it will be here before you know it. I love the shopping finds. You are soooo cute how you plan what clothes to buy and then what park you are gonna wear them to . . . I loved that about your last trip

Thanks for the advice! Quote:
If there was no chance that Tutto Italia would be close I think I would save France but I figure we will just go for it. Rob's not sure he wants to do any repeats so we may do something else for the lunch entirely. Ill keep you guys posted! Quote:
I think what it comes down to is that if I had some more confidence I could really put them out of my mind but I have been feeling so insecure lately that I just cant seem to get passed it. Quote:
Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice. This week just isnt my week. I found out today that instead of having 9th Grade Honors next year my schedule was changed to have a 10th Grade Regents class. Which means two big things-- I will only be partially on one of the 9th grade teams I was so excited to teach on next year AND yet another year will go by with me not having my own room. It was the first time since I started teaching that I did not like my job today. I am just having the "nice guys finish last" feeling this week. Me and Rob are going to work on the ADRs tonight and I will let you all know what we end up with. He has been shushing me and arguing with me everytime I bring it up but today we have a date to figure it out when he gets off of work. I wish he got as excited in advance as I do. Anyways, I apologize in advance if I am not around the next week or so after this coming weekend. The transition from the whole teaching to summer nannying is usually a bit busy to start. Plus I have all this extra junk to deal with. Thanks again.

| ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You got some great advice Mel...I have had friends like that and they are not worth having or stressing over... Let them have 100 trips to WDW but I bet that they will be nothing close to as special as the trips you and Rob take...
