The Andy Can't Keep a Secret To Save His Life Memorial Day Disney Trip - THREAD 2 **Updated 7/19** COMPLETE

I'm starting a new thread for this TR b/c it's getting kind of long.... we tend to do that... ramble a lot making it verry long...
If you need to find the beginning you can do so HERE

Day Two - The AK without any animals...

We got up this morning to our wonderful wake up call. We both got ready pretty quick and were ready to head out to the AK before opening That's very hard for me to do... make it to a park at opening, but I was really good this trip

I wasn't lazy this trip either, was I?

No, you weren't... as opposed to your annoying tired behavior back in Dec... That really drove me nuts! You're on vacation.... live it up!

So anyway, while I got ready for the day Andy got the beer bucket ready for the day

I wanted to drink one for breakfast but they weren't cold, so I waited until the afternoon

I think that was a wise choice.....

We stopped first to fill up our mugs and then we stopped by the gift shop to pick up some Claratin (sp?) b/c of course my body knew it was going to Disney so it was time to get sick. We also picked up breakfast.. a chocolate ear Mickey head rice krispy treat thing.....

with sprinkles

Yes, as I have said before, the breakfast of champions. I just love eating breakfast whilst at Disney. It almost always involves chocolate

So we got in line for the AK... at least we thought we were in line for the AK. We stood in this loooong line for about 5 minutes and then we realized we were in the MK line... the signs were a little weirdly placed to us.... yeah...that's it...

So finally we get to the AK. We hot foot it up to the entrance and get in this loooong line to get in...

So I walked around to the side past the ticket booth and realized that the looong line was for pretty much one turnstile so we got in a shorter line, but unbeknownst to us we got behind a whole group that didn't know how to use the finger scan thing.

We started talking to the family behind us, because I was totally eavesdropping on their plan of attack.. they were looking at a map trying to figure out the best way to do the Safari and EE. They were gonna go to Africa first and ride the Safari and then go to EE. So I just butted in and told them that we always go to Asia first, grab FPs for EE and then go ride the Safari b/c the line hasn't had time to get very long over there by then..... I joked with them that we usually go very fast to do that and they commented that they had a little girl. So I suggested mom take girl to Africa while Dad sprints to EE to get FPs since that's what we did in March when we had that whole crew with us. So I think they had decided to do that..... I also joked with them that it sucked for them to be behind us in line b/c we were MAGNETS for crazy people that don't know how to use the dang finger ticket machine thing.

We FINALLY got through the turnstile and were taking a nice leisurely stroll towards Discovery Island when the dad we had been talking to suddenly sprinted by us I guess they had decided to go with our plan of attack.

When we got to Discovery Island it was still roped off for the opening show so we got to see The Awakening.

They dropped the rope after the show and we herded along with many others over to EE. We got a couple FPs then hopped in line. The beauty of getting over there first thing and grabbing FPs is that the return time is so close that you can get another FP pretty soon after riding the first time..

So we got in the standby line and all along the way I was trying to find the Yeti foot cast that ole Josh Gates gave to the park at the AK 10th anniversary celebration but we couldn't find it. I don't know if it's going to be on display or not or if we just missed it b/c the line was moving quickly b/c there was nobody in it.

We got our usual last car spot for the ride.. we think it's the best spot to ride

You get the best views of the Yeti

We took a self shot... it's a bit blurry b/c I wanted to take it quickly so the CM wouldn't fuss at me for having my camera out...

After the ride we walked over to Dinoland. Our plan for today was to just do our favorite things since we only had this one morning here. So we kind of planned on going out and back between Dinoland and Asia. When we got to Dinosaur I made Andy pose for a picture...

He's trying to recreate the look on the dino's face......

So we go through the entrance and I see this....

And immediately start cracking up and knew I had to take a picture to post to tell this story....
While we were on EE we were laughing and screaming and being silly, as usual..... well I guess Andy was laughing and screaming and riding with his mouth open a little too long b/c when we got close to the end of the ride Andy pointed out that he had drooled a little. I think he pointed it out b/c he thought it was funny and only a little bit.... but when I looked over at him it was more than a little... it was some serious droolage He's not very happy I've told this story...... he wasn't very happy when I took that picture at Dinosaur with the intent of posting it. And he really wasn't happy when I told Brandi and Mo the story at Epcot later that night

I have no comment on this story.... I will not corroborate with this story...... Show me a stained shirt as proof and I'll believe it

Anyways... we got on to the ride and were able to sit on the end. We decided that Andy would try his whole "dino bit my arm off" bit again, but this time actually put his right arm in as opposed to the arm furtherest from the dino like he did March.

It turned out HILARIOUS I thought so we had to buy it Doesn't it look like that kid is gnawing on Andy's nub elbow??
The best thing about buying ride photos is examining all the other people in it when you get it home Now think about all the ride photos you've been in and the fact that other people are examining you and your silliness once they've purchased it

We headed back over to Asia to use our EE FP. We grabbed another couple of FPs before getting on the ride. Another nice pleasant ride in the back

It looks like Melissa went to the parks naked today......
Yes, thanks! I was totally thinking that's what it looked like when looking back at these pics....but I do have on a tube top..
I, however, was not wearing pants. I kid, I kid

After EE we went back over in to Dinoland. We rode Primeval Whirl, which had a bit of a wait. I don't know why but I just get annoyed having to wait in line for this ride..... I guess b/c it's not really my most fav thing in the AK so having to waste time waiting is kind of a bummer...

Too bad, it's my vacation, too, and I really enjoy the ride

I enjoy it, too, I just don't enjoy the wait... or the thought of plunging over the edge.... which I start to think about while I wait in that line.

Actually you're afraid that on a ride like that, the centripetal force will cause my drool to splatter on you... It's Primeval Drool BUT NO SUCH DROOL HAPPENED... I just want everyone to know that... this is just folklore, no drool happened in the first place...

Whatever.... there may have been no drool on Primeval Whirl....but there was definitely drool elsewhere.... yes....
ANYWAY....
A self shot on Primeval Whirl was of course a must...

And while we were in motion I thought it'd be funny to just hold up my camera and snap and see what I got..

Pretty funny I thought

that's a baaad picture, but no drool

When we got off the ride we walked around Dinoland a little bit more. Andy spotted these birds...

They were working together to make a nest. It was actually pretty cute to watch...
So I guess we did see some real animals

Then we walked the little trail with all the dinos......and everytime we had walked past it today NOBODY was there.... and now, when I wanted to walk in there and take some stupid pictures there were a bunch of dang kids playing on the dinos... Sheesh! MOVE outta my picture kids!!! So I could get off one shot.... I had to frame it just so so I wouldn't get the kid that was on the dino's back in the shot..

I was preparing him for the asteroid

Yeah, those shades are gonna do a lot to protect his nostrils...

actually it was the shade that..... arrrrr, I'm not gonna get into this....

We don't even know what you were gonna get into there...

I was gonna say it was the shade that killed the dinosaurs b/c it was a cloud that cut off the sunlight and killed all the plants or at least that's what one of the dinosaurs told me on that ride when I went back in time... He was trying to borrow some of that "Grass" off of me that the viking gave me last night I guess he was hungry.. but I told him that this "grass" would only make him hungrier

Aye yi yi.... that was quite a random stream of thoughts there.....Moving on..

We had some time before our lunch at Y & Y so we went over to the Island Mercantile to see Stitch. I just love that I can pretty much always count on seeing Stitch here

It was getting reeeaaalllly hot so we ducked through the shops when possible to keep cool. Andy was obviously getting hungry for that Y & Y lunch...

We were a little early for our ADR but we decided to check in anyway. We were seated pretty much right then. We had a nice little table for two upstairs. I changed this up a bit this meal.... actually we both did. Instead of the Big Bamboo I went with the Yak Attack. I don't normally like frozen drinks at a meal but it was so dang hot outside I needed it..

I still stuck with my Kingfisher beer though

We usually get the lettuce cups and dimsum but we decided to go with actual entrees this time. I had the crispy shrimp thing...

Which was verrrry tasty

I had a beef and broccoli stir fry kind of thing

How many times can we say "thing" in this update?

well the furthur along this update takes to make a lot of stuff is going to become "things" b/c we can't remember it

What are you saying?

I say we're getting old

Ok, as long as you're not ragging on how long it's taking me to finish this TR.....
Oh hey wait, I have a picture of you and your meal...

In my best Borat voice "niiiiiice"

So after sucking down an alcoholic beverage and scarfing down a ton of asian food, what better in the 90 degree heat than to go ride a roller coaster
So that's what we did
No self shot this time... we were too busy arguing about the fact that Andy swears he ALWAYS sits on that same side of the ride and never sees anything on the other side....which I think is crap....but, we switched it up just for him.....The reason I say it's crap is b/c when we were stuck in the cave with the bat, I was in the seat that he says he ALWAYS sits in.....

yeah, another tall tale, like the drool

Whatev!!! We have video proof...

of the drool?!?

of the bat... dummy

It was getting to be afternoon time and HOT. We decided to head back to the resort. We planned on doing the evening EMH at MK tonight so we wanted to rest up a bit. On the way out we saw these loverly birds..

At the exit we saw Chip and Dale all by their lonesome. We seem to find them like that a lot......

I don't know what Chip was doing there... well I know what he's doing but I can't remember why......
and this next picture took like fifty forevers in the blistering heat for Andy to understand what the photographer wanted him to do standing with Chip

But finally it came together....

We were back at the All Star Sports in no time...

and had cold beer and pretzels waiting

Coming up: Friends and the Fab Four at Epcot

Thanks for sharing Andy and Melissa. You had me cracking me up as usual. I shared your humor with my DH. He thought that Andy's random stream of thoughts made sense. So way to go Andy for trying to save the dino from the asteroid.
