Hollywood Studios 9-17-08

Hi everyone is is time for another update, hope u enjoyed the last one about Victoria and Albert's .
We have an adr for 50's Prime Time at 1:25 so today is our DHS day !! We set the wake up call for 7:45, got up, showered and ate breakfast in the room. No long wait time on the bus and we were at DHS in no time at all.
We went straight to Toy Story Mania to get a fast pass, our return time was 1 pm!! I was hoping it wouldn't make us too late for our adr, but we would see. After getting the pass, we went to the Backlot Tour. There wasn't much of a line yet and we were told we could come up and start a new line-which we did. Bossy and I were talking smack to each other about something and one of the cm's-Mark, came up and said, "I have found the perfect family to star in our show"!!! I looked at him like he was crazy too , in all my years of coming to Disney, I had NEVER been picked for ANYTHING, and I wasn't sure that I wanted to break that record . He kept talking to me, of course the kids chimed in-so I finally gave in and said ok . There was 5 of us and they needed 4-Sarah said she didn't feel like doing it, so she stayed behind (although they gave her the front row viewing area later) and she was able to take pics and film everything (thank goodness since there is nothing they sale that shows u doing anything!). So, it was me, Bossy, Alex and Zach taking part in the show.
They took us to the back area and had us put on these blue outfits and rubber shoes over our regular shoes. I kept giving Mark a hard time for picking on me and he said since I wouldn't leave him alone-I was now the MECHANIC !!!! I didn't know what that meant-but it didn't sound good . We were all dressed and they were almost finished bringing people in to see the show. Another cm (forgot his name) was explaining everything to all of us about what we would have to do during the show, he then turns to me and says-"whatever u do, when u hear the horn (whistle)-DON'T LOOK LEFT"!!! Bossy said, all the color drained from my face when I asked "why" , he just said it again and then left. Mark was smiling from ear to ear (I was about to choke him ).
It was time for us to make our debut, so off we went as they were introducing us to the crowd. I saw where Sarah was and I waved to her. The others were shown where they were gonna be standing and I was left with the announcer (forgot her name too ). She asked me my name and was telling me what I would be doing, she said for me to go sit in the chair and when it was time, she showed me the phone that I would need to help "my crew". Here is a pic of me in the chair in all my blue glory.... Let, the show begin and boy did it!! The explosions started and then I heard "the horn" and what did I do u ask? OF COURSE I LOOKED LEFT!!!!! A TON of water came crashing down on me and I was SOAKED!!!!! It was cold water too , if only I listened to him right? I was screaming and I saw Sarah was laughing !! She was using the video part of my camera at this point so it shows it-if I can figure out how to put in on here I will, it is too funny. The others were running around playing their parts while they were getting "shot at" and explosions were going off everywhere . Here is Alex after all is said and done , and one of me being given my instructions as to where to sit . Here is one of all 3 of them and of the explosions . It was so much fun!! I am so glad I let Mark "talk me into" being in the show. We all loved doing it. After ours was over, when we walked to the back to get our "blues" off-Mark was telling us that we could get in the front row and watch the tape of us, then we could stay and watch the next show if we wanted. As we were leaving I pointed to Mark and told him to "come here", he said, "uh oh, am I in trouble?", I said no, I just wanted a picture , so here is the famous Mark that got me to be in the show.... We watched "our show" and had Sarah video it just to be safe and then left. It was so funny watching me get drenched and the other running around being so "animated" and having a blast!! If u get picked for this GO FOR IT !!! You will love it too!!
After that we went to see the Muppet 3D show, which of course is always so cute, here is a pic that I took-thought it was cute, it said "Tinkerbell's Prison" . Everyone but me rode the Star Wars ride, and then we went to see the Little Mermaid Show. By then it was (believe it or not) time to use our fast pass for TSM!! We didn't have to wait very long at all to get on. However long it took to get thru the way to cute que, was all it took. I rode with Sarah and she beat me bad , Bossy and Alex rode together (can't remember who won there) and Zach rode with a lady we didn't know, but he had fun and ended up beating her BAD . Here are some pics I took as we were leaving and . I took some in the que and on the ride as well. They did a great job with all the fun things to look at. We didn't get on it again during our trip, but I am glad we got to ride it at least once-it was too cute.
By now, it was 1:30, so we were late for our adr at 50's. We made our way over there and turned our name in. Bossy had never eaten here before and the kids didn't remember it, so they had fun walking around looking at everything. It was crowded !! They were turning people away without adr's saying they were book solid. We waited about 20 minutes, so not too bad.
Our waiter's name was Mark (I know another Mark ) and he was THE BEST!! While we were waiting on him to come take our orders, we were entertained by Tom. He was already getting on to me about elbows on the table!! When I forgot and he got on to me again, I said "CRAP"!!! He then stood up, pointed to me and told everyone around us to "point two fingers at her and say, POTTY MOUTHS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN DISNEY"!!! And everyone DID!!! I was sooooooo embarrassed and I don't embarrass easy !! Here is a picture of me and Tom near the end of the lunch , he said he had forgiven me for my potty mouth . Sarah was acting a little "spacey" for some reason, whenever Mark asked her something, she was like "huh?" so he called her "Brittany" the whole time and Zach was called "Skippy", Alex was called "Skeletor" since she had a skull on her hat. Mark kept trying to fix her up with a nine year old boy that was sitting near us . The whole time we were being entertained by Mark or the other "cousins" waiting on tables around us-we were in a GREAT section!!! Here is the pics of what we ordered....pot roast and chicken sandwich and chicken pot pie and meat loaf . All was very good and tasty!!! Here are the desserts....all the kids ordered hot fudge sundaes , I ordered the strawberry sundae and Bossy had the smores . Needless to say the desserts were to die for !! I had also ordered a "Dad's Electric Lemonade" to drink and boy was it good . Here is a pic of the kids with Mark. If u look at Alex's face-he had just told her to get her hand off his behind and she was embarrassed , it was a great time for all of us!!
Just as we were getting out of lunch, the Block Party Parade was gong on, so we stopped to watch that-it was cute with all the Monsters Inc characters, Toy Story and The Incredibles too. Here are some pics of that... and and and 1 more . We then went to see the Indiana Jones show, it was good as usual. I started not to feel real good at this point, I was feeling a bad headache coming on , I am prone to migraines, and of course I didn't want one of those. I told them I was going back to Pop for some meds and maybe a nap. I was hoping that would be enough to make it go away or at least not get any worse. I gave Alex my camera in case she wanted to take some pics. It's a good thing I did. She and Bossy went to see Beauty and The Beast (that is Alex's ALL TIME FAVORITE Disney movie) and she got some great pics!!! Here are some of those pics.... and and and . I never got back to see the show-but they both said it was WONDERFUL!!! The also went to the Narnia thing (sorry), did Tower of Terror again, rode the Great Movie Ride again. Zach and Sarah had split from them and they rode the Tower of Terror and Rock-n-Roller Coaster, both several times each . It wasn't very crowded so they sometimes just got to stay on the ride without having to get back in line . After that, they left to go to the Animal Kingdom for their EMH and rode the Rapid ride again and Mt Everest several times, said they were allowed to ride it 5 times in a row without having to get off-cool huh . A little after that, they all came back to the room, I was just getting up from my nap and we were all hungry. We all went down to get something at Pop. Zach and I had the shrimp lo mein , Bossy had the flat bread pizza , Sarah had the lasagna (sorry it was almost all gone), can't remember what Alex had since she got it to go back to the room.
It was a great day (except for the headache), we really enjoyed being in the show. Here are some pics I took while at DHS, enjoy....the Man himself , me and Alan Alda (I LOVE MASH!!) , Zach and one of his favorites, Bill Cosby . Mickey and a broom and some photo pass shots that were taken for us...Sarah and my crew and all of us with Stitch and my crew being silly and one more of me and the kids . After we ate, we walked around the resort and got some pics, walked on the Generation Gap Bride, sat down for awhile looking at the lake, then came back to the room to get ready for bed and set up the wake up call for the next day.

The weather today was: sunny and beautiful!!
The best thing about today was: lunch at 50's Prime Time
The worst thing today was: me not feeling well .
The funniest thing today was: getting drenched during the show!
Today we tried: Toy Story Mania and the result was: we loved it!! it was fun!!
The most magical moment today was: getting picked for the Backlot Tour Show!!

The best part about your trip report is how you are able to communicate how much fun you all had on your trip. Your children are such good sports. I love all the mugging for the camera. They look like typical teenage America. Of course, Alex is emerging into young adulthood.

You and Bossy looked A-mah-zing for your dinner at the Grand Floridian. What a great friend you are to think of such a special way to celebrate Bossy's birthday. Right now I'm debating how I want to celebrate my birthday this year.

Couldn't you upload the video of the Backlot Tour onto YouTube? YouTube makes it very easy to embed videos onto anywhere.

I will have to remember to eat right before reading any more of your trip report. You always make me hungry with the descriptions and the pictures. I'm always thinking, "I could go for some cheddar cheese soup (or whatever you are featuring at the moment) right now".

Keep it coming!
