Ohana and MK

Boy!! It has been FOREVER since I have been here and I am so sorry , here I go with the next update-please forgive me!!
We set the wake up call for 645 am since we had adr's at 9 at Ohana's for breakfast with my personal favorite STITCH !! I have LOVED him since the 1st movie came out and will LOVE him until the end of time (part of it is because of all the ELVIS music in his movies-I am a HUGE Elvis FREAK , hence the nickname CILLA-DUH people )!!!
We all got up, showered, dressed, to the bus for the MK with no problems. Then we got on the monorail for the Poly, again with no problems.
We checked in and they told us we had a little bit of a wait. They instructed us to wait in the line for the pictures they would take and gave us the leis (is that spelled right?). We got in line and had our pics made. We had pics made with the whole group then with just the kids and myself-they both came out very good I think and here they are-u KNOW I am going to show them and . We sat for a little bit after taking our pics, so while they were doing that, I was of course walking around taking more pics-I know amazing right!! Here are those pics I was taking and and and and and -isn't that the cutest little expression on his face .
Well, about this time-we were called (our beeper went off) so we all went to our table with our escort. You will never guess what our server's name was.......MICKEY!!!! I SWEAR !!!! He was very friendly, explained the food to us and how we would get it brought out to us and when the characters would start coming out as well. The juice (which I wasn't a big fan of) came and the pineapple and coconut breads came-both were ok, neither of those were eaten-none of us were big fans of those. I LOVE pineapple-but the bread just wasn't all that good to me-sorry . The fruit came and it was as good as it was beautiful!! That was the freshest pineapple I had the entire trip-I could have made it a meal itself-it was that good !!!
Then the REAL food came and BOY WAS IT GOOD!! , it was eggs, bacon, biscuits, sausage, potatoes, and Mickey waffles. Here is a pic of the Mickey waffle , he is being held up by bacon . For some reason, my Sarah thought that you could "decorate" your Mickey waffle-so she got up and proceeded to walk around the place with her plate looking for the station to do just that!? One of the other servers John that was helping getting us clean plates came over and asked us what she was doing-we told him-he busted out laughing!! When she made it back around-he was still laughing , I took a pic of them together , he got such a kick out of her adventure-he told everyone that would listen-her face would just turn red every time .
It was now time for the characters to come around, they started with the parade and then they came around the tables, it was fun to spend the time with them all. I couldn't wait till Stitch got there of course !! Here are the pics.... and and and me and my "man" u notice I had to wear my shirt with him on it too.... and and and . We enjoyed the time and the food at Ohana's and were glad that we did the adr there. It was our only character meal this trip. Our server Mickey (I just love saying that ,) was great and very attentive, and he was tipped accordingly. We all left full and happy and ready to take on the day at the MK.
After we were finished we took the monorail back to MK to spend the day there. We saw Timon and Rafiki right away and of course got in line ( a very short one) to have our pics made with them. and . We then went to POC, the changes were cool!! The pirate of Jack Sparrow is "dead on"!! After we had the photo pass person do the Capt Hook "magic" shot , we went on the Splash Mountain ride, that is so cute on the inside-I took a TON of pics in there . I just love the way that Disney not only keeps u entertained in the que-but also on the ride itself!!
We then rode the Jungle Cruise, saw the "real" Jack Sparrow putting on a show outside the POC and he was a cutie , then it was time for the Haunted Mansion-I was excited about this one, I hadn't been on it since the refurishment and was looking forward to it-it didn't disappoint either!! and and and I love that last shot because it shows the light at the end that was "walking" at the end of the hall!! that wasn't my flash-it was the spirit!!!! isn't that the COOLEST!!!!!! My camera did a great job in there, I know I wasn't supposed to be taking pics in there-but I just couldn't help myself!! We went to the Hall of Presidents-believe it or not, my Sarah actually wanted to go see that ( I was a proud Mom ). We then finally took Sarah to the Tinkerbell store-she could stay in there for HOURS I think-she is a HUGE Tink fan, she must have tried all the hats on and wanted to buy everything in there . We never were able to ride the Peter Pan ride!! . The ride times were CRAZY the whole time we were there, I was shocked . We were able to ride all the other rides all around the Peter Pan one-just not him-crazy huh? We went on It's A Smal World, and the refurbishment was well worth it!! The last time I was on it, you could see the wear and tear of the dolls, the color of the paint was fading everywhere, etc. Now, the paint was vibrant everywhere and the dolls were beautiful!! All were working and dancing as they should be, I was very glad to see them again!! This is my Sarah telling me that she too wanted her tiarra , she kept seeing all these big and little girl's with theirs on their heads . She finally got hers later that night when we got back to Pop and she was happy and all was right with the world again .
After that, Bossy, Sarah and Zach went on the Tea Cups-not me , no way!! The got so fast-it was crazy!! After that, we went to Toontown to see the Princesses. We didn't have to wait very long at all really. Even Zach seemed to be a little excited to be waiting in line for all those ladies , and boy did they gush all over him , he loved all the attention I think. and and and We saw and got pics with Aurora, Cinderella and Belle. After we were finished with the Princesses, we rode the Indy cars and Space Mountain. Here are a couple of pics of Zach riding and Alex waiting (she is being silly as usual ) and and . After that, before we left-we went to Cosmic Rays to eat. I didn't take pics (I know sit down) but we had chili cheese dog and fries with coke and chocolate cake, (we all had the same thing )-we then went to order our Mickey ears hats that we would pick up the next day then we were headed back to Pop to rest since it was a long day and we were all exhausted.
So, after all that.....

the weather today was: sunny
the best thing today was: breakfast with Stitch
the worst thing today was: we seemed to be in a bad mood at 1st.
the funniest thing today was: Sarah wanting to "decorate" her waffle .
today we tried: Splash Mountain and the result was: we had fun and we all wanted to ride it again!
the most magical moment today was: meeting all the Princesses

**I promise not so much time between the next update **

Cool DTD and EPCOT

Hi everyone, time for another update . Hope you all are having a great week so far, I am just trying to get used to the cold weather we are having here in GA-but I do know it is COLDER in other places, I don't know how ya'll do it .
This day we planned for DTD (we had never been before) and Epcot, along with an adr at BOMA (which we also have never done before).
We set the wake up call for 9 am, that was "sleeping in" for us a little bit and the kids appreciated it . We all got showered and dressed with relatively no problems (those 2 bathrooms really came in handy!!). As always, we had breakfast in the room as the others were getting ready and headed for the bus to DTD , this was the longest we had to wait on a bus-but still not too long of a wait.
We got to DTD, and proceeded to walk around to look at everything we could. Since none of us had been there before, it was new to us all. Here is the 1st pic I took of my silly crew and friend Bossy- (they do love to pose don't they ). Here is another shot of when we first got in there, right outside the Christmas shop .
We continued to walk around and look in the shops as we came to them, we pretty much stayed together here, the kids saw no reason to split up this time. We really didn't buy anything yet since we wanted to look through ALL the shops before doing that, then we could buy if we wanted on the way out. Here are some more pics as we walked around..... and and .
As we were walking-we suddenly realized how hungry we all were getting since all we really had were pop tarts and such, and the fact that it was already around 1130!! Didn't know we were there for that long already!! We didn't want to eat a HUGE meal since our adr was at 450 pm at BOMA. We looked around where we were and saw Wolfgang Puck Express, it is a part of the dining plan, so we decided to go have a look. There seemed to be something for all of us, so we decided there-even though I tried to talk them into going to the Earl of Sandwich (I was out voted ).
Everthing there was wonderful, so it was ok that I was out voted this time . I had the rosemary chicken and mashed potatoes -it was seasoned wonderfully!! Everyone wanted and took a bite of mine , Alex had the bar b q chicken salad and she said it was great , also in the background u can see Bossy's margarita pizza-she said it was really good and Alex vouched for that since she got a slice too , Sarah ordered the rigatoni-which again was good according to her and Zach had the chicken sandwich, it was HUGE which he wasn't prepared for!! he didn't finish it because it was so big and because he was wanting to have some room for dinner . The desserts we got were key lime pie (which wasn't all that good) and brownies , the brownies were better than the key lime but still not very tasty.
Now that we were full, we walked over to the Virgin record store and man was that thing BIG . Bossy and Alex found a few things that they bought there, then we left, not sure how much time we spent in there though. We walked around to the rest of the shops, bought a few things in Pooh's Corner for a young lady at work that is a FREAK about Pooh, took some more pics, and -she was in one of the shops (the villians are my favorite!!) and right before we left, we walked into a shop and saw this man MAKING a bat !! My son and I were fascinated by him, as he was making it-he was also talking to us and telling us some of his famous "clients" that he has made bats for including Sammy Sosa among others!!! It was the coolest thing, when he was done, he came out and showed us the bat and let us hold it to see how heavy and how smooth it was. It was neat!!
It was time to leave so we could go back to the room to unload packages and to freshen up a bit before heading to BOMA (it may not seem like it but quite a bit of time had passed since we ate ). I wasn't all that impressed with DTD to be honest and I was really looking forward to it. I will go again, don't get me wrong, I always give things and people for that matter a 2nd chance-maybe the next time it will somehow be better-plus maybe I can try the new T-REX place out as well.
Made it back to the room, the room was spotless as usual and we had more towel animals! I sent the kids down to refill our mugs real quick while we sorted through all the bags. Before we knew it, it was time to leave for BOMA. We rode the bus to DHS then to the AKL. Not sure if that was the best route-but that was what was told to us by one of the cm's at Pop. Once we got to DHS, we had to wait FOREVER on a bus to come for the AKL!! I was getting nervous about getting there on time for the adr!! Bus after bus after bus came and went for other places and then FINALLY the AKL bus came, whew-I was one nervous nelly!!!
We got there and checked in, they SAID it would be a few minutes and that we had time to maybe walk around a bit. So Zach and I headed for the gift shop, while the girls walked around the lobby, here are some pics of that..... and and Zach taking a pic of himself and one of me with a silly hat on !! We were having fun . Next thing I know, Sarah is running up to me saying the beeper thingy went off, I said ok we are coming!! She is so dramatic .
We were seated and our waiter came over to get our drink order, told us a LITTLE about what was on the buffet and that we could help ourselves. We all got up and headed in different directions to take a look at what there was to offer. I got some pics of the food, but couldn't tell u the names of most of the things on my plate if my LIFE depended on it !! Some are obvious and some, well-I just don't know... and and and and heres the last one with the famous zebra domes on it. They were just to coffee tasting for a non coffee drinker-but the little strawberry custard things beside them in the pic-were to DIE FOR!!!
We had fun while eating even though we NEVER saw our waiter again until we got our check , he was tipped accordingly for that as well. Here are some pics..... (not very flattering huh ) and . It was a "different" experience and I am glad we did it. I was very proud of the kids for trying all the things that they did, I wasn't sure how they would do-but they did great and even ended up liking some pretty crazy things . As we were leaving, we found a photopass person that got some pics of us...., this was the best one of the ones she took. I was surprised to see them there, so it was good to get some of us in the lobby of the AKL. I did take some more of the outer resort as we were leaving.
After eating, the girl's wanted to go back to DTD to finish up their shopping (for their friends). Zach, Bossy and myself were headed to Epcot to finish up the countries and for the emh. Here are some of the night shots we got from the photopass people.... and . Here is one of the famous Grand Mariner Slush....
So, after we got some shopping done at Epcot, we finally started towards the exit for "home". We were wore out and ready for bed. With that being said.....

The weather today was: sunny and windy
The worst thing today was: me fighting with Sarah (thank goodness it didn't last long).
The funniest thing today was: when Alex hit a pole while walking (she was looking the other way ) and Sarah hitting the window while trying to look out the window (she said she didn't realize how close she was to the window ??). Did I ever tell u that my girl's are accident prone ?
Today we tried: BOMA and the result was: we enjoyed the food and the experience even though the service was bad .
The most magical moment today was: watching the man make a bat from a big piece of wood-it is truly an art!!

Hope you all enjoyed it, this was the next to the last day for us , so not much more . See ya next time .

last update for me :-(

Well, we all knew it was going to happen-the trip was going to have to end , and it has come to that time my friends . It has been an absolutely wonderful trip. All the planning has been worth it, everything has worked out, some for the better, some not at all , some unexpected and some, well, were just unexplained . But with all that said, here we go with the last day.......Sept 20, 2008.
We set the wake up call for 8 am. It would be the last time we would hear Stitch scream whatever he would scream for us to get us up and moving. We got up, showered, dressed and finished packing while everyone was doing whatever everyone else was doing . We had breakfast in the room as always. We had our last adr planned for 1:40 at The Wave and was very much looking forward to that since it was a new place, what a way to end our wonderful vacation (at least we were hoping).
We decided since we were going to do The Wave (no pun intended ) we would just go to the MK for our last day , the kids wanted to hit some more rides and Bossy and I had some last minute shopping we had to do, so that is where we headed. We got the rental van all packed up, the room was check 14 times (we wanted to make sure we didn't leave a thing ) and we were off. We made it to the TTC in no time and decided to ride the ferry since we hadn't done that yet, it was a beautiful ride, not too crowded, got some great pics on the ride over too. and and and . It was very peaceful, I guess I caught myself reflecting on the trip and how nice it was, maybe how sad I was that it was close to being over too , but I still had a little time left, so I needed to make the most of it right .
We made it to the MK and the kids split off from us to do some last minute rides, they really wanted to do POC again and some other rides. Bossy and I hit some of the stores. I guess I had forgotten how busy MK was on a Saturday-because it was PACKED already and it was EARLY !!! But, it was ok, since we wouldn't be there long I figured. We walked around and did some shopping and before we knew it it was time for our adr at The Wave. I called the kids on the trusty cell phones and told them to meet us at the front so we could catch the monorail for the Contemporary Resrot Hotel.
We were on it in no time and before we knew it, we were walking up to the restaurant !! There was no wait at all, even though we were a little early. I didn't know it at the time, but we were the last adr's for the lunch crowd, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves except for 2 other families-boy were we SPOILED .
We were seated and then greeted by our waiter William-he ended up being the BEST!!! this was our napkin set , William explained the menu to us in detail and when we ordered, he asked us lots of questions to make sure we knew what we wanted and to make sure we understood everything. Like when my daughter ordered the tuna salad-he advised her that it came with RARE tuna, she said that she like it and that it was fine, he said he just wanted to make sure she knew it was RARE, I thought that was great!! We were on the dining plan, which we told him from the beginning, when he brought our drinks out, I had asked for some bread-he said normally we wouldn't get any but since I asked for some with so much CHARM, he would be glad to bring us some , it was wonderful too!! He brought our drinks out and then SAT with us at the table after turning in our order and chatted with us for awhile about our trip and where we were from. He was so cool, the kids loved him and so did we.
It was time for our food to come, and boy was it good. Bossy's salad and Alex's tuna (rare) salad , my salmon (it was to DIE for) , Zach's bacon cheeseburger , Sarah's chicken sandwich with goat cheese spread . All of it was absolutely wonderful!! None of us had anything left on our plates!!! Then came the wonderful desserts!! Since there was so many of us, we got 1 of each and tried a little from each of them, They were all yummy!! I have posted these on the Eateries forum if u want more details . But, here are the pics of the desserts.... and and and and . They were all so very yummy!!!! Here are some pics of us and William, he was the BEST!!!!! and and this took us so many shots to get this ONE!!! Zach kept laughing before we got this one ...... Now, I know we wouldn't or couldn't have done all this if the place wouldn't have been empty getting ready for the dinner crowd, but we had a blast, the food was spectacular!!!! The service was IMPECCABLE and I would say GO GO GO to this place to eat and I would only hope that you have as much fun as we did and that the food is just as good if not better!!!!
Well, it was time to go, we tipped William WELL ut he deserved it!! We now keep in touch with him thru myspace believe it or not and he actually remembered us . We decided to head back over to MK, I told the kids we couldn't stay long since it was a long drive back home, but I did want one last shot of MAGIC too . It was 3:30 but what the heck .
We finally ended up leaving about 6:30 , I know crazy right!!! It actually came a downpour while we were shopping and using our last snack credits for the trip home so we were stuck in a shop for a little bit, but then we left while it was drizzling.
We got some gas right outside the parks and then were headed on to GA. We of course were talking about the trip the whole time, the kids eventually went to sleep with the ipods on their ears and Bossy would keep me up by talking to me and discussin the fun that we had on our trip. We stopped somewhere around 9:30 to eat at Arby's, I was tired and sore-my back was KILLING me so I needed to stretch a little. We got it to go though, so we didn't stay stopped long. I really wanted to get home ya know . Bossy volunteered to drive the rest of the way-but I said I was fine. I stayed in contact with my DH (who was in Missouri on on business trip by the way) to let him know where we were. He wasn't all that happy with me that we left much much later than what was originally planned , but he also knows how I am about Disney, so he just decided to understand . We FINALLY pulled into the driveway at 2:30 am!!!! Boy, was I one tired puppy!! But I was also glad to be home safe and sound .
Got the kids out of the car, told them to go get in the bed, we would worry about unpacking later, Bossy got her stuff from the van and said goodbye , we would talk later and she would come by to get the rest of her stuff too .
I will finish this up with a FINAL FINAL summary tomorrow with more pics and some fianl thoughts. Hope u all have enjoyed it. This was my 1st trip report and I hope it was a good one.
Love,
Cilla
