Baby's First Visit & our stay at the Mother Ship of all resorts trip report
Hello Everyone!
Well, unfortunately we're back home from our fabulous trip! On the last day my mom asked us when we were planning to come back and I just looked my husband and sent him a cute smile. How about next year? Yeah, I'm still waiting for the reply a week later!
Tuesday, September 30
I got my daughter up around 4:40am and she just looked at me like "Mom what are you doing? I'm trying to sleep?" I then gave her her bottle and she just looked at me like it's not time for this yet and I don't know what to do with it? It was too cute! My parents then arrived and we got the car packed and headed to the airport. Haleigh was amazing on the flight! One flight attendant made the comment that if she hadn't seen Haleigh she wouldn't even had known there was a baby on the plane. I was so proud of her! We got off and went to get our luggage. We wanted to get it ourselves since we were traveling with a baby. That way we wouldn't have to wait for it in case we needed something. We got lost finding DME. We were on the wrong side of the airport . Oops!
We finally arrived to the Grand Floridian! Ahhh....so beautiful! We got off the bus and a bell man asked my dad how he was and my dad asked if this resort was anything like the Yacht Club (we've stayed there multiple times) and the bell man said, "You're staying at the mother ship of all Disney resorts" and my dad told him, I'll let you know what I think at the end of my trip. Needless to say, the bell man was right! My dad loved the environment. We asked for a room on the first floor since we had a stroller, we didn't get one but the lady told us it is a water view room and we didn't pay for that so we took it! We ended up in Conch key on the second floor right next to the elevator. Very nice location and just a short distance from the main building and main pool.
We didn't have any park planned for that day. We just wanted to relax. It was so nice having my parents with us because they would take Haleigh whenever we wanted to relax or go somewhere just the 2 of us. Haleigh went swimming with my parents that afternoon and Matt & I took a nap. It was nice!
That night we caught the monorail and headed to the other resorts and checked out what they had to offer food wise. We ended back up at the Grand Floridian at the Grill and we sat outside and caught the fireworks from Hallowishes. Haleigh fell right asleep, but she did wake up early the next morning and again it was nice because my husband got up to take care of her and he let me keep sleeping. Usually it's me in the morning getting her up and ready. Well he got off easy because after she ate she fell back asleep. Lucky him! Day 2 coming up next!
Great start. I can't believe you are back already. Glad the baby was so good on the airplane. That's wonderful. Can't wait to hear all about your trip and see some pictures of the GF.
What a great start to your trip! Haleigh is so cute. Isn't it wonderful to have family around that wants to spend as much time as possible with the kids. When we lived closer, I could always count on my mom or sister helping me out with the kids when I needed a break.
Can't wait to hear more about your stay at GF and your time in the parks.
What a great way to start your trip. And you got to sleep. That could potentially be the best part..... looking forward to more!!!

Glad traveling was a breeze...sorry you did not get the 1st floor room but sounds like you were all happy with the result anyway...can't wait to hear more.
Haleigh is just a natural Disney lover!! She knew she was going to Disney World and was very content on the plane! I'm glad you had a great trip and I can't wait to hear more!!
