| Awesome day. What a great way to end it, with a PP meet and Illuminations. I've been on the POR sardine bus. It's not fun, especially when its really hot and some of them people do not use soap in the shower! I am so glad that you have Stephanie there to remind you when you last went to the bathroom as I would not want you to hold them up.

| Wednesday, June 10 Part 1 Next: Live, Laugh, Relax – A Fun Day at the Pool Wednesday, June 10 Part 1 As I’ve mentioned previously in this report, for the first time ever I worked right up until the day before we left on vacation. I know I’m spoiled as a teacher by usually have two weeks between the last day of school and the first day of vacation. But that time allows me to get some much needed rest, so I’m full of energy when we arrived at Disney. Without that time off, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to enjoy Disney unless we included some downtime in our weeks. So when we left Epcot on Tuesday night we decided to sleep in and spend the day at the pool, figuring out from there what else we wanted to do. I didn’t set an alarm, but I was fully awake by 9:30 and shortly after Stefanie was awake, watching TV from the comfort of her bed. I checked e-mails and surfed the boards, and then read some. About 10:30, I decided to start some laundry and managed to get 2 loads done. Then I snuck out on the balcony to photograph the wild life. Wildebeest I’d only gotten that first shot above when Stefanie hollered at me. I came back in to remind her that her Dad was still sleeping. She just wanted to know if what she was eating for breakfast was okay. Well, it’s vacation so I’m sure Doritos counts as a healthy breakfast. ![]() I returned to the balcony and got quite a few more pictures. ![]() ![]() Roan Antelope, which I became quite fond of during our stay as they seem to actually pay attention to the people. ![]() Ostriches It was very hot and humid outside already, so it wasn’t long before I came back in. Luke finally woke up around 11:45. We all got on our swimsuits and headed to Samawati Pool. On the way I found two more proverbs. ![]() ![]() I love the wisdom in both of these. We found Samawati Pool to be very peaceful and well-laid out. ![]() ![]() ![]() And even a cool proverb as part of the pool structure. ![]() The front lounge area around the pool was already completely full, so we crossed over a bridge to find quite a few empty seats on the other side of the pool. ![]() Stefanie thought her mom was pretty silly, asking her to stop and pose on the bridge. ![]() ![]() ![]() Behind Stefanie and Luke in this picture is the smaller kiddie slide. ![]() ![]() ![]() Stefanie got out to check on Mom and let me know she was getting hungry. So we three headed over to the Maji Pool Bar to find nourishment better than Doritos. It was going to be a late lunch and we had an ADR at Sanaa tonight, so we didn’t want to overeat now. We shared a turkey club sandwich with Lay’s chips and three drinks (2 Coke Zeros and 1 Coke). After lunch we moved over to the kids’ play area. Stefanie gives this area two thumb up, even better than Donald’s play area at SSR. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These spitting snakes became one of her favorites. ![]() ![]() ![]() Stefanie also loved the waterfalls. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then it was back to the main pool for some more lounging and water play. ![]() Stefanie and her Dad doing the tango in the pool. Luke then wanted to try out the larger waterslide. He handed Stefanie his Oakley’s to safeguard for him. I had turned to look toward the slide when she said, “Hey, Mom, look at me.” I turned around to discover the coolest girl at the pool. ![]() I used this photo for the title page of her 8 x 8 scrapbook for this trip. We had three hours of total relaxation in the sun. Priceless! Before we leave the pool scene completely, let me share a few Stefanisms: “Daddy, look, there’s my hot Momma. Am I hot, too?” She does wonders for my self-esteem. While she and look were bouncing around in the water, she yelled, “Darth Vadar and Beyond.” That was just a tad random. To me, “Do you think a kiss would be a good Father’s Day gift for Daddy.” Definitely! We walked back to the resort front entrance, stopping at Johair (Jewel) Treasures to pick up our package from Ye Olde Chritmas Shoppe at MK. We also bought 1 Coke Zero and 1 Coke, dark chocolate covered almonds, AK black pajamas with animal print Mickey Heads, and for $15 a rolling Mickey duffel bag that would carry most of our souvenirs onto the plane for us. As we headed back to the room, I took some pictures of the savanna off the community balcony. ![]() ![]() Then we went back to the room to finish laundry and clean up for the dinner at Sanaa. ![]() ![]() Yet another very cool proverb. Sanaa may have been one of our most expensive meals ever anywhere, but the food was exquisite. We started with the Indian Bread Service, choosing Naan, Roti, and Paneer Partha. All of these breads were very delicious. For our spreads we chose Coriander Chutney, Ginger Pickle, and Roasted Bell Pepper Humuus. The ones we chose were delicious but very spicy hot. Our server Dawn was so sweet and brought us a fourth spread that she said was her favorite and that I might like as I really couldn’t eat any more of the ones we chose. I can’t remember its name, but it was Cucumber something. At this point, I think Luke or I said for the third or fourth time, that is was surreal that we could really eat at a place like this. ![]() ![]() Still another proverb. I really enjoyed all these. For our appetizer, we chose to share Pulled Duck. I would definitely get this again. As for entrees: I had Tandoori Chicken with Five-grain Pilaf and Stir- fried green beans; Luke had Banana-Leaf Wrapped Sustainable Fish with Basmati Rice (I liked his rice better than mine and would probably make another choice next time); Stefanie had Tandoori Chicken and Crushed Potatoes. We all loved our meals. For dessert we had the Celebration Dessert Sampler. I almost forgot I ordered two glasses of the Fairy Tale Iron Horse Sparkling Wine, which I had read about in someone’s report here. Luke was very glad I did. Sanaa is a new favorite for my entire family. (Sorry that I don’t have any food porn/pictures, but I very seldom remember as I’m hungry when the food arrives.)After dinner, we headed for the outlook, but before we made it, a cast member took Stefanie for a short tour of Hidden Mickeys around the restaurant. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures as I was enjoying the hunt, too. Next: After- Dinner Plans take form.

| Oh, no!! I've finally reached the end of the report to this trip. It's almost like a vacation coming to an end. At least I'll get to feel like I'm going on another trip as you post more. Thanks for bringing me much needed stress relief with your wonderfully vivid recollection of your magical vacation. More when you can, please!
