I was just thinking that Happy Limo will probably be glad that you didn't include a picture of good-looking Daniel. There might just be a serious increase in their business from all of us curious PassPorters.

That was such a fun day. Except for the LONG wait for the cab but since we were in good company we made the best of it. Mary Devall cracked me up when she told me she really didn't like Splash Mountain. She even put her head inside her rain poncho at one point ! I quickly asked her not to do that and had visions of having to explain to you and Thom how she smothered in her own poncho while we were on the ride. Splash is my least favorite of the big rides but we made it through just fine and I think Mary Devall was proud of herself for doing it. Next year, we can just skip it! Thom made us all laugh with his aversion to "wet grippers". Macy and I had no idea what "wet grippers" were but Macy had no problem asking. She giggled at Thom's explanation (and still laughs about it now whenever something reminds her). I would guess that a day at Blizzard Beach is not his idea of fun!

But... then he'd be wearing his cool "board shorts" and there'd be no grippers in sight!

What a great train ride you all had! Loved the picture of Maddie on the top bunk. How nice that you got to spend your first day with Monica, Macy and their friends! Although it sure sounds like it was a hot day, you did alright with all the rides that you got to go on!

Friday, June 5

I was prepared this morning! The day before I bought doughnuts, chocolate milk, milk and orange juice at the Marketplace, so I was ready when Maddie woke up wanting her “beakfast.” While she enjoyed her chocolate milk and doughnut at the little counter, I made a pot of coffee and began getting myself ready for the day.

Monica and Macy were leaving later that day and generously bequeathed their leftover groceries to us. Macy dropped by a bag full of pancakes, syrup, bread, butter and assorted other goodies. Thom was especially excited by the string cheese (he is SO from Wisconsin )! I think we finished almost everything!

In addition to their dinner at the GF Café last night, Monica had generously invited us to tag along to their late breakfast at Cape May Café this morning. In addition to Phyllis and Sarah, Monica’s brother, his wife and daughter would be joining us.

While Thom, Mary Devall and Maddie went ahead to the lobby to meet up with the rest of our breakfast crew, I stopped at the Marketplace first to buy the girls new autograph books and pens and the one thing we forgot for them - - toothbrushes.

I easily found Tinkerbell books and princess pens at the counter, but the toothbrushes were another matter. I finally had to break down and ask a CM . . . and then she had to break down and ask another CM who finally told us exactly where they would be. I checked one of the circular racks and immediately discovered why they were with the Disney knick knacks instead of the health care items - - they were light up Minnie and Tinkerbell toothbrushes. It would have been easier to tell them apart if I bought one of each, but I have quickly learned in order to keep peace in the land that it’s better for both girls to have the same thing.

I also bought myself a box of Sudafed. I had checked out the supply of sinus meds at the Marketplace yesterday, but when I saw that Sudafed was the only game in town I passed since decongestants do a number on me. I was feeling a little worse this morning, so figured that something was better than nothing.

Oh, silly, silly me because non-drowsy Sudafed nasal decongestant is now my new friend. In the past, when I wake up with a sore throat it is followed a day or two later by congestion which inevitably ends in a sinus infection no matter what I do. They opened me up without making me feel as if I was on a five-day drunk and I really never felt bad again.

Sorry to bore you with my sinus history, but when you’re stricken with sinus issues on a regular basis and find something that actually works you want to shout it from the rooftops!

When I met up with the group and handed the bag off to Thom, the toothbrushes immediately lit up and started flashing through the bags. The girls absolutely loved their new Minnie toothbrushes and I do believe that Riley, Monica’s niece, was already planning to have one of her very own.

While we waited a little longer for our pager to buzz, I was able to meet Monica’s family. Her brother, SIL, and niece were as sweet as could be.

When our pager buzzed, we were seated in the small dining room to the right of the check-in desk. Apparently, that’s where they place large parties because we were the only people in that room. It was great since we were tucked out of the way and knew we had all of the character’s attention when they came into the room!

At first, we all just sat anywhere, but then Monica suggested that we let all of the girls sit on the outside so they could have easy access to the characters. We quickly played musical chairs and the set up was perfect!

The next hour was filled with a flurry of delicious food, characters running in and out of the room, hugs, smiles and laughter. Usually my children are the youngest of any gathering, so I loved watching Riley get so much enjoyment from the characters at her age. I also loved watching Maddie patiently wait to get her turn with each character. She would stand off to the side holding her autograph book as a character made his or her way down to her finally. It was always well worth the wait for her.

Continued in next post . . .
