| Our can't pass up this deal/rewarding the kids WDW trip TR UPDATED 10/29 I was trying really hard to push off writing this since we have just over 2 months left, but I figure everyone else is writing theirs so why not join the bandwagon Time for the Who/What/When/Where/Why Who: Me (Stacy)- I love Disney, and haven't been able to go nearly as much as I would like DH (Adam)- Who I am pretty sure is a closet Disney fanatic and just doesn't want to admit it DD-4 (Kayla)- If she could be a Disney Princess when she grows up, her dreams would come true....she is the girliest little girl you will ever meet! DS- 2.5 (Carter)- A fan of Cars and anything boy What/When/Where/Why: A little background first...we are a military family (DH is Active Duty and I am reserves). DH was deployed from Jan 08- Jan 09. During that time I moved the kids 3 times (we attempted a few times to go live with family so that I could have a break and get some help----not so much!). Right after DH returned we moved to Texas (call that move #4). Right before he returned, I heard about the ticket deal that Disney was offering for Military. I started talking with him about it thinking that we could get his ticket free and then stay at SOG and save money on the room as well. We planned our trip for Dec. The more I researched things, the more I realized that if we went before November 1st when DS turns 3 we would save even more! I managed to change our trip to 5-11 Oct to coincide with a trip we are taking for a wedding (I love AirTrans 1 way fares so I can do things like this!). When I changed the trip I called disney to check rooms because SOG was sold out and found out that I could get 40% off a room at Disney...WOOT WOOT (in the words of DD)! So I booked us at POFQ. I decided to add on the DDP as well since DH and I really like the idea of doing a sit-down dinner every day to give the kids and us a break. I also found out later, that I had done enough active reserve days last year that my ticket was free! So now the only person in the family that we have to get a 5 day PH ticket for is DD and it is only $125! Add that to the super cheap room and this trip almost feels too good to be true...but it isn't! We are taking this trip as our first family vacation |

| Your trip sounds wonderful! We, too, are in TX. My DH is deployed right now, and my 14-year-old is handling it really well. We both are. It is our first deployment and took some getting used to. We are taking a mommie/daughter trip to WDW in September and will go again in 2010 with my DH. Yay! I hate that his R&R didn't work out for September, but we'll see him in October. ![]() I can't wait to hear more about your trip!
