You all had a great day at MK. I feel the same way about the GF. I loved it from the outside, but after we ate at 1900 Park Fare, we all agreed that it wasn't really a resort where we wanted to stay. We had fun this year playing with all those old machines at the train station, too. We'd actually never noticed them before.

What a great evening. I love hearing about areas of MK that we've never explored before. I may have to take notes....

Great evening. I really love Wishes and Spectromagic. I have had a problem with scheduling the last two times I was there and did not get to see Spectro either time. Looking forward to seeing more of your pix.

We enjoy visiting the GF for meals and to wander but it is not on my top list either. Now my DD on the other hand is ready to move in .

Sounds like a great evening at the MK. What a great spot for the parade and Wishes and you were able to beat the crowd for the buses. It sounds like you have a long busy day coming up, looking forward to hearing all about it.

Your MK day sounds wonderful. We loved Expo Hall this year. We had fun wandering around in there and taking cheesy photos, too. I'm going to have to check out the neat machines at the train station. I didn't realize they were there. Thanks for the tip!

Sounded like a great night at MK. Sorry Tony's lasagna wasn't very good. I wasn't very impressed with their spaghetti when we ate there a couple of years ago.
Can't wait for more.

Sorry it's taking me so long to get these updates done. Things are busy around here lately. I have an extra long update today.

Wednesday, August 12th
We were up at 7 again this morning for am EMH, this time at AK. Today was kind of a reverse of Monday – AK am emh, then DHS for pm emh. We grabbed a bus over to AK. It was already getting hot this morning so we knew we were in for a warm one. It always seems hotter over at AK for some reason anyway. Once we arrived we wandered the Oasis for a bit checking out animals while we made our way over to Dinoland. We wanted to catch Dinosaur this am since we skipped it during pm EMH earlier in the week due to the really long line (40 minutes). The line was much shorter this time – just a few minutes. When we got in line, the CM standing at the front announced to everyone else there were some honeymooners joining everyone, so everyone in line clapped and congratulated us. After a quick trip back in time we headed back over to ITTBAB. Just like every other time I’ve seen ITTBAB, one poor child has to be taken out because they’re scared to death. It always seems to be when the spiders come down.

By now it was about 9:15 and we were getting hungry. We stopped by the new centralized FP area to get a FP for Kilimanjaro Safaris. There was a CM by the machines explaining to people how they worked. The only real downside to the centralized FP’s was that there were no return times posted. We had an ADR at Yak and Yeti at 1:00 so we guessed since it was still early we would be ok getting a FP. Our return time ended up being 10:00. It was really nice not having to walk all the way over to KS to actually get the fastpass. We went to Pizzafari for breakfast. Pat had a breakfast pizza while I used a snack credit for a giant cinnamon roll.

It was about 9:50 so we just sat at a table outside to kill some time. We happened to be sitting by a CM backstage door. While we were sitting there a CM was walking by, walked up behind Pat, and made this weird growling snorting sound in his ear. Pat jumped about 20 feet. I just sat there dying laughing. Another CM was walking by laughing and said the other CM just liked to growl. It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

We didn’t make it through the Maharaja Jungle Trek in December so we decided to head over there and grab a FP for KRR since our time for a second fastpass had now arrived before we went to KS. Once we got to KRR, we learned it was not running! It was so darn hot already this morning and we’d been looking forward to a quick soak. A CM standing by the entrance said they’d been working on it since last night and expected to be up and running around 2:00pm. We decided to go ahead and get a FP anyway in the hopes it would be working later. Besides, we could always get another FP in a bit. We walked through Maharaja, then walked over to KS.

Maharaja Jungle Trek

We had a great time as always on the safari. We were lucky enough to spot the male lion this time.

We'd never seen the cheetahs before.

After KS, we decided we needed another trip through the Himalayas. The wait time said an hour but the line started in about the same spot it did during pm EMH Monday night and that took about 40 minutes. We didn’t have any place important to be so we decided to go ahead and get in line. It’s back to that whole ‘just adults’ thing. No kids means if you feel like waiting 40 minutes for a ride, go for it. We chat our way through line anyway and like to look at all the details in the queue. EE is one of the best rides for queue details. We even managed to find a hidden Mickey along the way. It really did only take about 40 minutes to make our way through the line. The more I ride EE the more I like it. It’s one of my favorites at Disney but it’s becoming one of those rides I can go on over and over.

It was almost time for our ADR so wandered over to Yak and Yeti. We’d been looking forward to eating here again ever since we decided to go to Disney for our honeymoon. I couldn’t wait for another Yak Attack and we both had been waiting for those Cream Cheese Wontons for dessert. We were seated upstairs this time. I got the vegetable lo mein and Pat had the baby back ribs. We both had the wontons for dessert.

Happily awaiting my Yak Attack

Baby back ribs

While eating we again managed to miss the brief downpour outside. Not counting my Yak Attack, the total for the meal was around $60. After we finished stuffing ourselves, we walked over to KRR to find it was up and running! We had about 15 minutes to kill before our FP time at 2:30 so we hung out and watched the gibbons for a while. We have these same guys at our local zoo and always get a kick out of watching them. It's amazing how they swing and climb around with such ease.

Once our FP's were ripe, we jumped into the FP line. The standby line was already at 120 minutes! It wasn’t really all that surprising though since it was so hot out. All the FP’s were long gone by now too so if you didn’t grab one before, you had no other choice than to get in that horribly long line. And yes, for the third time this trip that darn raft turned around so we were yet again headed down the drop backwards. We’re now 4 for 4 overall for total trips down the drop backwards. Stay far far away from us on that ride if you don’t feel like literally wringing puddles of water out of your clothes.

I was determined to see FOTLK this time around. This was my 4th trip to AK and I’ve never seen it. We figured we might freeze being soaked in air conditioning, but by time the show started our clothes had dried out pretty well. Like I said, it was horribly hot today. We both loved the show. I was so glad we finally made it over there and we definitely plan on making sure DS sees this next time we all go.

The tumble monkeys were amazing!

We missed the parade since it was the same time as FOTLK, something to do next time. After the show we went back to POFQ to go swimming for a bit before we went to DHS for pm EMH.

Next up: DHS pm EMH and TSMM marathon
