| We went to the chapel, now let's go to Disney World! - Honeymoon TR Updated 11/13 You can catch up from the Pre-TR here if you're interested: The I Can't Stand the Wait Honeymoon Pre-TR--Updated 8/8 Once I get some wedding pictures and the photopass cd, I'll post those too. The newlyweds: Marianne (me), Pat (the new DH) When: Aug 9 – Aug 14 Where: Port Orleans French Quarter After a not-so-late night, we woke up at 5:15, packed those last minute things, loaded up the car and we were off! We needed to drop off our cat at my work along the way. It was a little after 6:00am at this point, plenty of time to get to the airport for our 8:35 departure. Or you would think. Now you can take 355 or 294 to the airport. Pat decided 295 would be better (I had my doubts but ok). First off, we had to drive way down to get back on the tollway we just got off to drop the cat off. Once back on the tollway, we still thought we were ok time-wise. We were using Midway Park, Ride, and Fly for the first time instead of using the airport parking. It’s much cheaper, plus they pick you up at your car, drop you off at the curbside check-in, then drop you off right at your car when you return. The service was great by the way and I will definitely use them again in the future. In our defense, the map we got online showed Central Ave ran straight through from the tollway to Midway Park, Ride, and Fly. We took that instead of the usual exit we take to the airport. In reality, that stupid road dead ends into a giant rail yard. We drove so far out of our way to get around the railyard through all sorts of industrial areas. ![]() By time we got to Midway Park, Ride, and Fly it was almost 7:30! They picked us up right away and we got to the airport only to find a giant line at SW to check in. I’ve never once been this late getting to the airport. Figures it happens on our honeymoon of all trips. We were starting to panic in line wondering what we were going to do if we missed our flight. By time we made it to the check in counter it was about 7:50 and we still had security to get through, then get to the gate! Yes, we were those people you see running through the airport. We took off towards security pulling out liquids and m-n-m tubes of pennies along the way. When we got to security I saw the expert line and shouted “Go through the expert side!”. Hey we’ve flown lots before, it kind of qualifies is as experts right? We whipped off our shoes, tossed everything into the bins, grabbed it on the other side, and took off running towards our gate. We finally made it with about 15 minutes to spare. We were starving at this point since we originally planned on getting breakfast at the airport but we didn’t have time. Not 5 minutes after we sat down, an announcement came across the loudspeaker. There’s a problem with the plane so we’re changing planes and gates! We were just catching our breath and now we had to go all the way back up the concourse we were in, around to another one, then all the way down to the end of that one. Turns out the plane didn’t leave until 9:00am anyway. I don’t think either of us relaxed until we were sitting on the plane. ![]() Orlando from the air An uneventful flight and a few hours later we arrived at MCO 20 minutes earlier than originally scheduled. I have to say I love only having to go through one line at DME check in. It’s so much easier now. As soon as we got into our bus line it started loading and we found out we were the first stop. POFQ….here we come!! ![]()
