| Friends, Food, Fun And FABs: A Disney Adventure PTR Friends, Food, Fun And FABs:A Disney Adventure PTR The idea for this trip started out last year when Southern Belle told me all about the Food and Wine Fest at WDW. Hard to believe, in all our trips to WDW, some even in October we had never done the F&W! ) We decided to use most of our 2009 points and get a 1-bedroom villa at SSR for almost two weeks! We also decided, how silly, we have the autotrain not 10 miles from our door and if we are there for two weeks, we will probably like to have the car as well, so we why don’t we do the autotrain? That would be FUN! November rolled around and I booked the resort! At this point our intrepid travelers are: NanaTink, 51, Disney lover Extraordinaire, wife, Mom and Mema, to my two beautiful grandkids. I work for the Department of Justice in WDC and WDW is my sanity. I am a former Elementary Teacher, and love to read, quilt, cross-stitch and scrapbook. Sulley, also 51, says we go to Disney because I love it and he loves me. Awww.. Yeah, right! I’m here to tell you...the April trip? Was supposed to be his trip to Hawaii....that HE changed!!!!! Hawaii was BOOKED, my friends! I had everything but the plane fare locked in and HE changed it! For us, it’s through those magic gates and all our cares and worries disappear! So there we are, booked into Saratoga Springs one-bedroom from the 18th of October to the 31st of October! Time goes on and I’m not sure how it came about, but SouthernBelle and her DH Grumpy decided they were going back for F&W too and she can tell you how that happened.... SouthernBelle: Well since we love going to happy place in the fall to celebrate our birthdays, and we knew that NanaTink and Sulley would also be there it only seemed logical to go at the same time or thereabouts that they would be there. Plus there is the wonderful Salute to the Military special going on, so Grumpy gets in for free and I get in at a discounted price. I had sent Nanatink and Sulley the guide book from the 2008 F&W Festival and some other festival goodies, so that they could see the wonderful experience they were missing. I knew being the couple that they are and foodies like us they would have a wonderful time. So once it was decided that they would be there for 2 weeks, Grumpy and I had to find a date that fit into our work schedules to take the time off and go to the happy place, during our favorite time of year. So as soon as we returned from our wonderful February MAGICal cruise to the Caribbean, we booked our rooms at Shades of Green. Then we just sat back and waited for the time to get closer, for us to get serious and start planning…. So to recap here we are: SouthernBelle, about to turn 49, Disney loving spouse of Grumpy, 47, who loves it as much as I do. But he will say he does it for me….but don’t let him fool you…. We both work for the USAF, although Grumpy is retired USAF…. We both love going to the Happy Place, we leave all our cares and excess baggage back out on I-10, before we turn onto I-75. We are booked into our beloved Shades of Green, 20-25 October, where we have been staying since we honeymooned there back in 1989 when it was the Disney Inn. I don’t think I could bear to stay at any other resort on property. We love the convenience there, walking to the Polynesian to catch the monorail, or walking to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot…. The grounds are just beautiful, the wild animals are everywhere, herons, egrets, wild turkeys, alligators, even a bobcat!! Now we just have to sit back and wait for the days to countdown and arrive at our happy place… Gin7274: Gin7274, 57, the elder of the group, Disney fanatic, wife, Mom and Grams (as my grandchildren call me). I work as a Cartographer in the Tax Assessors office in Clayton Co. GA.. I like NanaTink love to cross-stitch and scrapbook. I also love to work on genealogy thanks to my love of history and the wonderful stories I heard growing up. Baxter, 58, loves Disney as much or more than I do, if that’s possible. Baxter is a Funeral Director, so Disney is his “take me away” escape. Baxter loves woodworking, trains and building models, especially airplanes, genealogy and history. We decided to go to the Food & Wine Festival when we were at WDW in April for the Flower & Garden Festival . NanaTink put together a PP meet and greet where we met some wonderful people and NanaTink & Sulley had their first Dole Whip. NanaTink posted her Oct. trip & MNSSHP on PP. We booked our trip the same week and purchased our MNSSHP tickets for the same night. Our trip will be Oct. 18 to Oct. 24 staying at POFQ, our favorite resort and we’ll be just around the river bend from NanaTink & Sulley. So there you have it, the Psychic Psysters and their Disney supporting DH'es are headed to Disney once again. Friends, food, fun and FABs....that on our agenda! This is a joint TR, with each of us adding as we see fit...and who knows, there may be surprises ahead! You never know who might show up! So I hope you will join us on our Magical tour of the Happiest Place on Earth!!!! Up Next: Will we get those most sought after ADRs???
