| The "Bankruptcy is Underrated" 9/21-10/2 PTR - UPDATED 9/13 Wellllll since it's exactly 30 days until our Disney trip, I thought I'd attempt to entertain everyone with a most likely very detailed, very drawn-out PTR. First, some small introductions. The Who: CopyofSummerrrr025-1.jpg That's meeeeeeee. Amy, aka Wolfy6688. I'm 23 (I'll be 24 on September 2nd..whooo!) I work full time as a Senior Pharmacy Technician. I do absolutely everything the pharmacists do, except I get paid in slave wages, and they make over $100k a year. Eventually, one day, maybe a few hundred decades from now, I'll finally graduate college. My in-a-perfect-world plan = graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, and then transfer either into Pharmacy school or Veterinary School. One day... ![]() My Disney Loves: Eeyore, Haunted Mansion, Mickey Mouse (I've ALWAYS been a fan of Mickey Mouse: "He" (aka, my poor dad in a Mickey costume) came to my 3rd Birthday Party, and I had pictures of him all over my wall when I was little My Disney Hates: TINKERBELL (oh mannnn...I loathe thee - sorry everyone), Tantrum-Throwing Children, Muppets whatever-the-eff-that-was-that-I-sat-through-last-year, Summit Plummet. Also accompanying me, both down to WDW and in writing this trip report (Look for run-on sentences, some spelling mistakes and different font) isss.... pic022.jpg My DBF, Pat! Isn't he cute? He's 36 (hahahhaha...I tease him for being older than me allllll the time, you might say it's a hobby). He's a manager in Retail. He is the reason that we went to Disney last year, the reason we're going again this year, and my reason for waking up in the morning Pat's Disney Likes: Donald Duck, Star Tours, Fantasmic. Pat's Disney Hates: Festival of the Lion King, "It's a Small World" song while we're on the ride (I guess all other time's it's not annoying??), Summit Plummet. Last year, I made my first venture BACK to the world of magic and wonderful things since I was 5. Man, things have changed. Overall, the trip couldn't have been more perfect, minus a chemical burn IN MY EYE (Thanks babe ![]() We had stayed at POP, including two days at Universal, one day at Sea World, one MNSSHP, one dinner at Victoria and Albert's. There's not a single thing I would change about our trip last year.......or is there?? We'll get to that in the next post. For now, we'll stick to the bare bones of it. The How: Well, for a small bit of background. Originally in August, we were supposed to go away camping for a week with my family. This is one of the only years in about 12 years that we haven't gone camping . We go to the same place every year; I truly feel like it's my second home. It's the exact opposite of a Disney trip: that's to say, relaxing! It's a week of fishing, hiking, biking, barbecue, mmmm MMMM good stuff . This year, we had reservations all set to go, but there were two reasons we ended up cancelling. The first reason (known before the second popped up) is, we just couldn't afford it (I get paid in slave wages, remember? ). We paid for the actual stay, but to get all the stuff down there we either had to A) rent a truck, which would run about $700 for the week, or B) fix my dad's truck, which would probably cost even more. Add to that a weeks worth of food for 5 people, other random costs, we just couldn't do it. But it turns out that even if we COULD have afforded it, we would have cancelled anyway; my grandmother went into the hospital and then stayed in rehab for 3 weeks. She just came home a week ago today, so we wouldn't have left her anyhow.I was feeling very, very down about missing out on the camping trip. It's been a very rough year and I was looking forward to some actual relaxation. Since we couldn't afford the little bit left to go camping, I had it in my head that there was no way, no how that we would be able to pay the rest of our Disney balance . We booked at the end of our stay last year with the Bounceback incentive, with the intention of paying off a little bit each month. And then, hello economy. Never happened. But due to the amazing generosity of DBF's DMom, she lent us the rest of the money to pay our balance ![]() ![]() Sooooo we're goin' to Disney World!!The When: Monday, September 21: Our flight departs Atlantic City at 6:00 am. I wish that was a typo, but it isn't. That means we'll leave the house around 3:00 am - usually the time we're crawling to bed. Land in Orlando at 8:something, take DME to POP. ~~until~~ Friday, October 2nd: Our flight departs Orlando at 11:something am, we'll land home at 2:something pm. The....other stuff: We're staying at POP again, in Preferred room. We again requested the '60s building, away from the pool, king sized bed. Since it's just the two of us, the king sized bed in a POP sized room is more than enough room - particularly since we're really just there to sleep anyway. You might say DBF is a bit of a Vacation Nazi. Hmm..DVN..I like the sound of that. Coming Up.... - Our ADRs - Our Touring Plans - What we INSIST on doing this trip that we didn't last trip - What we would never, ever do again, for all the money in the world |

| Wow, since it appears I didn't put anyone to sleep so far, I'll take a few and throw in our ADRs. But before I do that, some more minor introductions. ![]() That's Miss Layla! My Alaskan Malamute, AKA The Mammoth. She's the furry love of my life, my fur child. We compete in dog shows together - the regular, conformation ones you would see on TV (the beauty pageant type), we're training in competition obedience, Agility (picture an obstacle course for dogs), tracking (similar to search and rescue), weight pull, and Layla is a certified Therapy Dog. She is the best dog I've ever had, and I feel awful leaving her for 11 days. Last year, my dad watched her, but this year being how ill my grandmother is she'll have to stay home and the boy across the street will watch her and... ![]() Casey! The black lab boy. He was Pat's dog before we met; Layla was my dog before we met, and now we're an Animal Planet version of The Brady Bunch, on a much smaller scale. The boy across the street will take care of them just fine, but I'm not sure exactly how much time he'll be able to spend playing with them. Oh well. We come home on a Friday, and I took that weekend off so I have at least a few days to try to get myself back in Layla's good graces. Casey is very mellow - he'll miss us, sure, but he won't hold a grudge. Layla on the other hand.. I'm going to have to really work to get her to not be mad at me.But, onto more Disney related things.....FOOD!! Starting last Monday, I started the 6 Week Body Makeover. In short, you take a quiz to see what type of metabolism you have, and based on that they tell you which foods will jump start your metabolism, and what portion sizes of those foods to eat. So in theory, you'll be eating all the time, and by the end of the 6 weeks your metabolism will be working so well that you can go back to eating almost anything and have it not slow down on you again. ![]() However, it's MUCH harder than I anticipated. The food is normal food; there are a ton of recipes, but it's just...argh. For example, last night, DBF had a gorgeous stack of pancakes, smothered in butter and syrup. Ohhh what I would have done for a bite of those pancakes. But I digress...It won't be exactly 6 weeks, it will be FIVE weeks to the day (our departure date from the start date of the Body Makeover). So, I plan to be an absolute glutton in Disney. I wanted to start the program to fit into clothes I wore last year on the trip, because I can't afford to buy new clothes, so I'll have one heck of a celebration if I can make it. ![]() Our ADRs: 9/21: Planet Hollywood, 10:45 pm 9/22: none 9/23: Teppan Edo, 8:55 pm 9/24: T-Rex 9:00pm 9/25: Sci-Fi, 5:05 pm 9/26: Whispering Canyon, 4:30 pm 9/27: California Grill, 7:20 pm 9/28: Coral Reef lunch, 1:20 pm, Le Cellier dinner, 6:15 pm 9/29: Biergarten, 3:00pm 9/30: 50's PTC, 8:50 pm 10/1: Chef Mickey's breakfast, 10:30am, Crystal Palace dinner, 5:10 pm ~~up next~~ Our Touring Plans Must do's Never will again's Last edited by Wolfy6688; 08-22-2009 at 11:42 AM.. | Aww thank you! They're exactly what I need after an awful day at work to come home to. I ended up throwing my ADRs up there anyway - I started to confuse myself. |
